Sky broadband is abysmal. They told me that 0.40 mb speed is acceptable, refused to send an engineer and would not offer a new router even when I offered to upgrade to fibre if they did.

Just got off the phone to a condescending little butt wipe. I'm not a customer but I politely called to discuss potentially moving from virgin to sky broadband.

The reciver on the line spoke way tooooooo fast. Now I'm a pretty intelligent person so it's not a case of not understanding. I asked him to repeat himself 1x and this idiot placed his mouth so close to he phone i could barely understand anything he was saying.

After that I asked him on average what the cost would be after the contract ended for just the broadband if i chose to remove the telephone line. He gave me wishy washy answers but never got to the point. So I said to him because I'm not confident about his answer I will call back another time after I've thought it over and done my own research.

That's when his manourisms took a next turn. Extremely sarcastic, unfriendly and abrupt goodbye from him.

I guess it's all about commission for him. But for me it's all about the small print. If my querys are not resolved best belive I'm not taking up your offer. Not all things tgat glitter is gold. And that kid proved it. If your customer service is bad and I've not even joined yet, just imagine if I was a customer.

    Stay clear!

Was on a 40/10 plan on Sky Q, got 36 when using ethernet but wireless was very poor. In the evening I was lucky to get 5 down. The Q router is very poor for wireless and it only has 2 lan ports.

Had contacted Sky several times for faults on the line and my telephone line not working. Contact with them is impossibly difficult with exchanges for the phone line fault only via text messages! When you contact their help team on Twitter, when they eventually reply, they ask you to go to Facebook. Responses between questions take hours! Openreach came out and fixed the phone line at least. Wireless performance never improved despite changing channels etc. They offered to increase my speed to the max, for free, but I then realised that this gesture was being rolled out for free for existing customers anyway.

I left and went to Vodafone however Sky took a further direct debit payment they shouldn't have after I had ended the service (and promised they wouldn't take as I noticed the future bill on the account and told them twice). After 6 weeks of chasing, having 4 separate conversations, I eventually got the payment back. Such a hassle. Would never go with them again!

TIME TO LEAVE ..... costs keep going up, speeds and reliability going down. Requested my code and am off after 10 years or so. Sky your service isn’t worth the money, even if it was half price I would walk away. Even the sky tv box has lost the will to keep looking for the WiFi. I can’t tell you how bad the service is. It’s 2019 we need a reliable service.

I transferred from Talk Talk a couple of years ago for the obvious reason that Talk Talk are a waking nightmare. It was initially a real pleasure to be with Sky but unfortunately for whatever reason pretty much all aspects of their service has deteriorated to a point where it's possible to draw direct comparisons to Talk Talk. Actually communicaticating to them is no longer a remotely easy option, broadband reliability is a disaster and they have become one of the most expensive providers out there which given first hand experience of how they are currently operating just can't be justified. Something has obviously gone badly wrong and sadly they seem unable to retrieve the quality of service they once provided. Time to go !

Was happy enough when I was with Sky (TV, phone and broadband) although a bit costly. Had to change due to a rental move and they made it almost impossible to leave. Took me nearly 3 months of wrongfully sent texts and emails from Sky, numerous text chats and phone calls with customer services who all promised to sort out what was all a Sky mess and not my fault but they never did. Now I have completely unrelated email offers saying "come back to Sky" at half price of what I originally paid. So they clearly charge too much from their current customers when they can afford that :-(.

I am with Sky and supposed to be on fibre cable. The fibre cable only goes to a distribution box some miles away from my property.I am only getting a speed of 6.4,Sky say the only way of increasing my speed is to cancel my contract with them and take on a new contract, losing my existing land line number and having to have a new number, while they reconnect me to another cabinet, considering I have been a customer for 5 years ,I think it is unacceptable,as I signed up for fibre broadband with the initial contract.Regards P. The speed of Sky Broadband is slow and the service is unreliable. I lost my internet connection yesterday and was told it would take up to five working days to be fixed. So no broadband connection for the holiday season and the attitude of their stuff on the phone was horrible. I would never use Sky if I knew this before.

Wifi totally waste of time. Should get 40mbs getting 0.08 to 22.4. No signal if i move 10ft away from router. Had sky out several times Sky engineer says there's a problem with broadband signal phone sky they say its working fine no help at all. Went to Argos bought wifi adapter for £19.99 plugged in set up in 60sec can now get signal no prob. Sky just want your money not interested what happens after total waste of time.

I have been a loyal customer of sky. However I have recently moved house and ask sky to move my phone line to a differently location so that I can actually use the Internet. I have been told that they cannot do that free of charge and I should pay £66 for it. My contract with Sky expires in Feruary and I called BT and asked them whether I could switch. They offered a great deal on TV and broadband and have agreed to move my phone line free of charge. I called sky and asked to match the deal. They have the nerve to insinuate that what I was saying was untrue. Well if Sky does not want to keep their loyal customers somebody else will take them. Shame that the people that work for them are so rude and disrespectful.

Promised 40mbs before signing up, I would be lucky if I get half of that. Maximum I have seen is 24Mbs a day or two at the start, been nowhere near that since. They say they never slow you down anytime of day, that’s because they never speed you up to begin with. What they say you’ll get in your package, you can half it, that would give you a realistic download speed.
Phoned customer service to complain and was told, the speed to the router was indeed 40Mbs, and they didn’t say your wireless devices would receive that download speed. I was told where to check it under maintenance/ wireless settings on the Sky site.
It does say 40Mbs on the web page, but it’s just a typed number, they could type any number in there, it doesn’t fluctuate up or down, it’s not interactive, it’s just typed text, static words and numbers, very disappointing with SKY.
Have a friend on Vodaphone and he was promised 40Mbs and he has shown me on his phone (a wireless device connected to his router) that indeed his download speeds are 40Mbs to a connected phone and his never slows down anytime of the day.
Customer Services has a pile of rubbish to say to their customers, as excuses for their, half a promised service. After that reception, I can’t believe anything they tell me.

As much as I can't stand BT, you can at least guarantee a quick resolve of your issue. Sky on the other hand are an absolute joke. I contacted them to say my broadband wasn't working and was given a 5 day repair and,if I wanted, which I told them to shove, £2 compensation. The problem with sky is they have to go begging to BT to resolve the issue and BT really don't give a f%ck. So if you don't want to use BT try one of the cheaper suppliers because their backup are every bit as good, if not better than sky.

Constantly lied about what speed we would get they said about 50 mbps on fibre I get a max of 3 when nothing else is using the internet. Over the last 6 months the internet has randomly started disconnecting for no reason and I need to restart the router which means I have ended up using my mobile data more in the house as it's a stronger more consistent signal and this problem is only getting worse, over the last week or so the internet has gone down at least 20 times a day every half hour or so and I'm a gamer which means literally every single game I've joined on my pc has disconnected from meaning I've lost all of them and my pc is pretty much useless, it also take several days to download games as the downloads will constantly stop since the internet disconnected all the time.
Do not get any broadband it it literally the worst I have friends who live near me who have an internet connection that is constantly 20 times stronger than mine on virgin, go with virgin they are a much better company and don't lie about there speeds constantly.

Absolutely horrendous service. First of all the engineer who was sent out wasn't given the details of the job that would need done (we needed new phone lines etc), so I had to rearrange the appointment for them to come during the AM. This didn't seem to be a problem, until Sky kept delaying the appointment, texting me over and over again putting it off from one week to the next. I cancelled the direct debit as nothing was being done, then was contacted via message (again) four days before Christmas saying they couldn't complete my order...naturally they realised the DD had been cancelled, and suddenly couldn't do anymore. Never again, I'm waiting until the New Year and looking elsewhere for better customer service with a provider who does just that...PROVIDES!!!

I cancelled sky tv and broadband due to the excessive cost. Sky tv cancellation policy is 31 days and broadband is 14 days. I spoke to the customer service representative and explained that I wanted them both to finish at the same time, then asked the gentlemen what date will they both finish. He explained 3rd January 2019. However my sky broadband finished on 17th December. I contacted them and there's nothing they can do so am without broadband over the Christmas period. I am absolutely livid as there is no way he could of got confused, we were having a full conversation about it. I will never go back to Sky again

went with Sky Fibre Max to consolidate bills as we wanted the Sky Sports and Sky Atlantic TV channels. The new Sky Q Hub has the worst and most unreliable WiFi signal ever. Regularly cuts out and delivers incredibly slow speeds when in any other room than the one containing the router. Impossible to stream anything unless you're sitting right next the Q hub. Had both BT and Virgin media wireless routers in the past 3 years and they both performed far far better than this. Really surprising that something marketing as a premium product (Sky Q) uses such cheap hardware. Read up online about poor WiFi signal on the Sky Q Hub and you'll see that I'm not alone in complaining about this! Seriously Sky, the wireless on the Q hub is so bad it is making me never consider using Sky again - for anything! To make matters worse, the customer service staff were incredibly rude when I suggested using my own hardware as a modem/router - as if I'd done something wrong. In short, hugely disappointing move to Sky and I already can't wait to go back to BT or Virgin Media. If good WiFi signal around your property is important to do DO NOT sign up to broadband delivered to the Sky Q hub! Oh, and add to this that when you try to contact Sky to learn more about which 3rd party routers you could potentially use, you'll be shut down with ludicrous company policy stating 'Sky don't recommend 3rd party routers therefore if you want help for it you'll have to search online for it' which is a very abrupt and rude standpoint to take. My advice would be to stay well away from this company for Broadband services.

Wired speed, no major issues. Wireless - not good. Was on a 38mbps package and barely got 15 down at the best of times right next to the Q router and lower than 1 at peak times! Constant packet loss playing games even when wired. Customer service is poor, they seem to only want to deal via Facebook messenger (and take forever to answer) or through text messaging! Would not recommend.

Terrible company and service. After cancelling my subscription I have been charged for 2 extra months.
It was almost impossible to communicate with a Sky representative and I am still waiting for my refund after 2 months and none is acknowledging me.
Do not sign up with them. That are a nightmare to deal with. London is plenty of better broadband companies.

Pathetic speed and reliability. They say its because we are using wifi but the that is the whole point of a wireless device surely. It looses connection when we are sitting in front of the hub and you have no chance in the other rooms.

Arranged with Sky to move from Virgin. Sky failed to install phone line and Broadband on date agreed and they have now walked away from any responsibility for sorting the issue. Sky uncontactable online and no help given on the phone. Avoid them like the plague!

Not great value at all, paying £65 a month for very basic t.v package (most can be watched on free view) and broadband that can only be used in the same room as the router. Would have expected better value for money from sky to be honest, customer support is not bad at all it doesn’t change the rubbish value for money or ridiculously rubbish broadband/connectivity. Will be changing to virgin as soon as the contract ends!
