WORST POSSIBLE internet provider. Horrible customer service. Nothing works. I just purchased an upgrade to fiver only to be informed that my router isn’t synchronising well. They then told me an engineer would come to my house to fix this but they are having “technical difficulties” and can’t book the engineer. SO unprofessional. I am completely enraged and this lack of knowledge.

Our monthly bills are around £100. We experience signal problems and on our Sky app we get 9mb but with you it is nearer to 8mb. We were promised 10mb yet Sky has only sent BT engineers who say connection is good. We have requested compensation for the numerous times we have had no Internet and several occasions when we had no phone. If you could advise on how to speak to someone at Sky who doesn’t keep avoiding our issue instead of giving us answers we would appreciate it. Thank you

Service stopped on 28th June, and called three times just to confirm if there will be further bill, got a negative answer said I already paid everything, my account will be closed. And yet this morning waking up with £40.99 charge for July, called customer service, got the answer 'oh our customer service should of changed your billing date later as if they left if on 1st every month then we normally request the money already, we cant help in this case, will only refund you next month'. Less than ideal. Trying to complain now.

Oh my god. Every. Single. Night.
    The dreaded, 11PM...
The only thing Sky Broadband is consistent with would be completely shutting down at 11-12PM.

I've been using Sky broadband since they bought UK Online and therefore acquired me as a customer. A couple of years ago I switched from standard broadband to fibre - originally the 35Mbps package, but they upgraded me for free to the full 72Mbps.

Their customer service is generally very good, they don't treat me like an idiot. The standard broadband was pretty reliable but I had a couple of faulty routers over the years. Since I switched to fibre it's been rock solid and I can usually get the full 72Mbps down and 18Mbps up.

My only gripe is the price. Without any TV package and with PAYG calls this is costing me £44/month - line rental plus broadband. But looking at reviews of other providers on here, I'm probably better sticking with what I've got than switching to a cheaper but less reliable provider.

I'm currently paying the top rate for my broadband but feel as if I'm not getting what I'm paying for. I'm a online gamer and I get alot of speed up lag. Im told this is due to bad internet stability. When I test my connection online I get 10mb download Max but I pay for fibre. Would love to see a specialist come test my connection. Thinking of changing tbh

I used Sky for four months after returning from abroad (my lodger chose them). Service was patchy, intermittent, with daily drop outs. I was with another provider previously for four years and never had any of these problems.
Now I'm switching to a new provider the Sky customer service don't seem to know their aszes from their elbows. Different stories, conflicting info. Had to give up on the first provider I tried to go with as the order was rejected because of the mess made by Sky not closing the line properly. And I missed out on their deal. With the new provider, Sky ceased two days ago and the new provider cannot provision the line because Sky have not done their job properly. If the order fails again then my new provider will have to send an engineer meaning in total it will take up to three weeks for me to get back online due to Sky's total incompetence. I have recently become self employed so three weeks offline is damaging my income potential. My verdict? Avoid like the plague. Hideously overpriced too, for such shoddy customer service.

Sky set up our new internet today. The so called engineer said it's all live and up and running. I checked immediately and it wasn't connected to the internet. Sky customer services say the whole area is down!!!! We no because my neighbors internet isn't down.

So basically if your considering using sky remember you will have to wait a months for installation and then another month for the original installation to be fixed, and every time you call customer services they will say it's an area issue weather it is or isn't.

So I will be cancelling immediately and using another internet provider.

    Utter rubbish.

Took ages to be set up and running. WiFi had a poor range and kept cutting out, kept having to restart the router.

Moved house, asked for Sky to move with us. They took 2 weeks to connect - which failed, then told me they need to cancel it which would take 10 days, and another 2 weeks to restart my order.

I told them I work from home and NEED internet. They had nothing to say.

I cancelled it entirely and went with Virgin who connected me within 72 hours.

On my 5th week from moving house, Sky email me with a bill and tell me my broadband is up and running. Even though I cancelled it. They then emailed me and told me they sent a cancellation email by mistake - I didn't receive a cancellation email.

I then went on holiday - Sky said my phone would be fine to work abroad. It wasn't. Not for 48 hours.

Upon my return home, my account still has active broadband and a bill to pay. I've had to get in touch about 7 times in the last 48 hours to try and get to the bottom of this, being transferred all over the place to different people, explaining everything over and over again. Getting nowhere.

Avoid. Utterly useless. Poor service. Terrible customer support. Rubbish WiFi. Slow, useless, pointless. Go with Virgin instead.

This is very bad broadband service anyone can have.
The customer services is really terrible.
They are only interested when they are selling their services and products.
Once you sign the contract they don’t care their customers and their products is working or not.
When you complain instead of helping you they are trying to sell more things.
So you’re always paying them without getting any services.

We had to contact Sky after one of their engineers installed a new system to our neighbour. As a result of doing so it resulted in losing our signal / unable to access any services. This was 100% their error & their attempts at a resolution was leaving us without any services for 4 days until "an engineer was in our area". No attempt was made to resolve speedily ie an engineer next day. Even with their proposed date again no flexibility was given to give a morning slot only PM. We have escalated past their supervisor to a manager but I have little confidence the manager will recontact me.APALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

I have had appalling customer service from Sky, really disappointed having been a loyal customer since 2011. I have been taken advantage of with price increases for services I haven't signed up for. I have been made to pay twice the amount i originally agreed with increases every year relating to services (land-line and voice mail) i don't use or signed up for but they automatically rolled me into. Sky claims every price increase has been communicated to me because they have a dormant email from when I signed up. I am taking the matter to CISAS after a poor customer service to resolve the matter.

    Hello,
I just moved to new property after being customer with Sky for a year and they have been helpful and cancel my old contract as i was not sure if my new property will be ok for Sky.
Once i moved called them and within 3 days i got the Hub and next day the engineer to check my line.
After the internet was activated i struggled to go online but Alex the Bulgarian agent on the phone was bery polite amd explained everything to me so i can understand that it was phone line issue not Sky.
He advised me someone within 72 hours will fix this and i should have broadband on.
He kindly ask me if i am aware that the number i dial is chargeable and i said i know.
I think Sky need more agents like Alex as he was extreamly friendly amd professional in same time.
I hope this will go directly to him amd he deserve Big Well done and thank you for your help.
    Much appreciated

    Hi there,

I have been with Sky for over a year and I have fibre speeds all over my 4 bedroom house! I have seen places with Sky broadband that had appalling speeds and even worse coverage, which is frustrating.

I had Wi-Fi UK's MESH network installed in my house. The guys built a network using my Sky broadband and boy, is it fast! I get over 70 Mb/s in every room.

Blame poor Wi-Fi not Sky, please, the internet quality is good. There is a brilliant solution to always dropping Wi-Fi signal and it is called mesh Wi-Fi.

Technicians are knowledgeable, professional and ready to explain anything I don’t understand as always one of the team member called Amruth assist me and was able to solve the issue immediately he even gave me a discount for my next few months bill as a way of apologising on behalf of sky .

Lastly I would like to say keep up the good customer service

I have been with Virgin for a number of years. Fibre optic broadband was excellent and the basic TV package met our needs. However like most companies the deal ran out and I meant to look for a cheaper provider. Telephone call from Sky’s sales team with an offer of £35 per month for unlimited broadband, around £300+ tv channel and unlimited landline calls for up to 1 hour. Broadband mediocre, definitely not as good as virgin. The Sky salesman said it would easily match Virgin if not it would be better. Lie number 1and some of the channels I got with virgin which I expected to be included such as 4hd are not. Spoke to customer services and I’m still waiting for a call back 4 days later and to top it off Sky have increased the prices before I’ve even had a bill at £35. So lie number 2. If I am sold a deal at £35 for 18 months that’s what I expect. Sale under false promises of a service Sky can not deliver. DONT BOTHER GOING WITH SKY. Needless to say I will be moving to another provider as soon as I am able to. When I did complain the rep said he’d call me back but never did. Lie number 3.

I have been looking through reviews for a long time and the comments are boring and endless constant complaint for every company so who is the best and what's the alternative. Rather than rant like a typical Brit let's turn this to logic . I'm a computer programmer and know my way around . First of all if you have a PS4 or x-box then stay away from talk talk and plus net tragic management services will cause drop outs from 3 to 6pm and this will wind up your child playing fortnight then that's on you . Use these services if it's just a few mobiles and I pads prices very reasonable .. Vodafone have great BB but UK based only for mobile its the hub that lets itself down only able to manage 9 devices at a time .. virgin media offer highest download speed but they scare you into thinking you need more than you need..let's be honest how many of you out there understand speeds..?? The higher the number does not mean faster internet it's faster download ask around you home first there is no point to virgin unless you download and they are a dice roll some places amazing but differs from house to house. Now for sky this is who I'm with now great company if you know what your doing ..for the single people out there at the end of your contract speak to cancellations rather that the discount team refuse the first offer then wait for them to call you back ..in a relationship cancel at the end and start again in partners name. sky is suitable for people that love TV not a every now and then person and don't read these rubbish reviews do a Google search it top 2 rated BB providers bt and sky..bt BB and Custer service perfect all round but TV is very basic. Sky Freesat basicly..all companies have bad comments we only reveiw when we're angry and the world ain't perfect umbrellas still turn inside..one thing that did bug me is that most comments for sky are from people being with them for 25 years ..let's face it most marriages don't last long but I bet the husband or wife at least got a compliment along the way..look at off com reveiws drop outs etc amount of fines payed too being virgin at the highest very rarely providing advertised speed and ofcom are always on there heels..so far sky is best for me the best TV they have a deal now with Netflix and have the best phone network and voted the best and only done BB for 3 years..last tip of the day if you want an extra sky q mini box phone to cancel before you go live and advice another company will do set up cheaper you may get it free also take out a mini box at point of sale alot cheaper ..well free in fact..as for the rest of the dribble of messages man up princess no one cares if the engineer was late and you missed the first half of ya kids footy game has zero relavance to people making a decision ..

Usually it is just unstable, sometimes working sometimes disconnecting. Occasionally it fails when I am making a transaction. This week it completely stops working and after speaking with customer service for 2 hours we were told that they needed 2 days to fix it. Next day, we were then told that they needed another 5 days. Next day they said it was fixed but it's not - spending another 3-4 hours with them going through stupid processes that we'd tried, and they told us that it needs another engineer visit 5 days after. When I asked for compensation, they said it's by day, which means £0.67 per day. What an amazing experience with Sky.
We spent in total 6 hours on non-sense communications and days without Internet, and also need to wait for the engineer to finish the work and will get less than £10 compensation :)

Feel free to consider Sky if you are up for the experience.

My sky broadband is complete rubbish it seemed really good at first but after a few months it has dropped massively. Appreciate that there are multiple users in my house but that only explained the drop in speed and not why it randomly disconnects at will multip times a day. The step by step help is also unless as it changes nothing and contacting an actual person is impossible unless your willing to pay £3.50per min. I personally find this to be a joke and will be switch providers as soon as possible

DON’T BE REELED IN BY SKY’s DEALS WITH BROADBAND AND TV. Their customer service is long and when they send out an engineer the likely hood of them not coming is very high. Disconnects are extremely common and the router is appauling. Do not recommend. Go for a smaller ISP who will look after you And does not assume that your wallet is a pit of endless money. Worst ISP ever...

My father, a pensioner and admittedly not great at keeping track of online billing, made the unfortunate error of opting to switch to Sky. Relying on his phone line, he opted for Sky based on the ‘free unlimited calls’ with Sky Talk Anytime Extra a sales advisor had described to him. Not wanting to set up at a sales stand, upon reflecting on the offer, he decided to set up online the next day. The online advert also stated ‘Sky Talk Anytime Extra free for 18 months for new Sky Broadband and line rental customers’.

Having been charged extortionate sums of money in call charges (up to £70 greater than the anticipated amount) each of the first 3 months, I contacted Sky on his behalf for an explanation. Thinking this would be simple to rectify, considering I have screen shoots of the original offer, the initial Sky advisor pretty much accused me of lying. He stated no such offer ever existed, with my father having no chance of even a partial refund.

I calmly asked to be put through to a manager. Some progress, they stated the offer was in fact available at the time, but for some reason it hadn’t been applied to the account. When I explained it was advertised as ‘Sky Talk Anytime Extra free for 18 months for new Sky Broadband and line rental customers’, both of which my father was at the time of purchase, again I was told they were not willing to refund any of the extortionate call charges applied.

With another now famous blanket Sky price hike, at least we have an opportunity to ditch the scammers. I’d advise anyone grab this golden chance. If Sky haven’t ripped you off yet, it’s only a matter of time.....

The only time sky were quick to respond to me was when I took broadband out with another company. I decided to part ways after years of dropped connections, price hikes, neglectful customer service and false promises. Often the only way you can get hold of them is by phoning, they have had various other methods such as live chat and even texting, all completely useless. On multiple occasions I was told an engineer would be coming to look at our connection when I continued to complain about the slow speed/lack of internet/dropped connections, on multiple occasions I stayed home from work or took a day off to accommodate this, and on multiple occasions I was stood up by the company who claims to ‘believe in better’. Right now I am writing this review on my 4G as yet again the sky connection has dropped for no reason. It’s raining so maybe that’s why. AVOID.

If you like having distinctively average broadband that will cut out and then come back on again randomly this is the company for. If you want poor customer service when trying to fix the issue, again the company for you.

Sky broadband is a scam. 90% of the time you are "connected, no internet" or "limited connection"
Not only are you constantly unable to use the service you pay for but the helpdesk staff are unable to assist in anything that isn't part of their script. I am sick of phoning up and repeating for the 1000th time it's not the micro filter.

Sky broadband is a scam. They advertise and charge for a service they are clearly unable to provide

Had skyQ installed as an upgrade. I was told that my broadband speed would improve. It has dropped over 3 to 9.4 from 12.6.
I have spent several hours trying to contact sky by phone and their chat line, without success.
