We used Sky Broadband for years and had no issues. When we tried to take the service to another house it all went wrong. Instead of moving the service they gave me a better deal at the existing property and told me I had to wait for this to kick in before then trying to move the service again. This was all discovered in the same phone call but it was 'impossible' to stop it from carrying on. I then (before the call had finished) instructed them to cancel everything as I was so annoyed. Nothing stopped and I kept getting updated on my order progress. They actually cut me off immediately so the phone and broadband stopped working within hours. When I tried to go with BT the whole thing got held up because Sky would not release my old telephone number which I wanted to keep. Every other provider I spoke to answered calls within a few rings. Sky have a message indicating the wait time, lets say 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes if nobody is available the system just disconnects. I have never been so annoyed in my life with the general lack of customer service. Its like you should be grateful they are willing to supply you. I will never deal with them again and let as many people I know as possible to steer clear. This is not based on one or two phone calls it took many calls and huge amounts of time to get nowhere. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Got Sky Fibre broadband after years and years with BT. Signed an 18month deal At £27 per month a great deal. After 2 months got a notification that the price was going up by £2 per month. Not a lot I know but niggled me as I thought I had a fixed contract. Rang Sky to be told that I had a deal for £16.99 off the normal price and it remains the same but the normal price had gone up. So when you see an advertised rate for a fixed contract don’t believe. I, check the small print. in a fit of pique I cancelled sky cinema and was advised that sports would be increased as it was part of the same package so cancelled that as well.So Sky will get their £2 increase but have lost over £30 a month due to their sneaky tactics

Fast when it works, annoying when it doesn't. Customer service is an utter joke - one that isn't funny. Long waits, horrible distorted music that hurts your ears, useless service when you finally do get through.
It's pointless sharing your info with them - they'll ask you the same questions over and over anyway. If you have more than one brain cell and know what the problem with your connection is anyway you're better off committing suicide rather than watch these inept morons visit you three times and ignore what you're telling them.
1.3 billion pounds profit a year, and they can't get the simplest things right. Avoid like the plague, no matter how cheap you think they are.

Might be one of the more exspensive providers.
in the four years I have been with this company Customer service has been reasonable.
Broadband speed could be a bit faster.
Broadband reliability is and has been
generally good.

Most broadband companies will rent the line from BT then sub-lease the line onto you under their packages. With the market being so competitive, I'd say there should be 2 most important factors in customers choosing service providers.
1. how they respond to tech issues
2. Customer service (Keep an eye on your bills!)
Being brutally honest, their response to tech problems had been ok but when it comes to customer service, you will find it very unhelpful and state the obvious resolutions with continues sales pitches to hook you under longer contracts.
Keep an eye on your bill as for me, additional charges were wrongly added and their resolution was that they will credit me back only if I sign up under a new long term contract.
Not a nice experience to have a manager of their call centre shout at the customers too!

It has good speed when it is working but it drops out ALOT. Also, when a family member walks into the hub room, I get a loose connection. I’m quite sure that my family are NOT electric.

They are quick to take your monthly payment but don't give you anything back when they can't supply the service, it's the only place where you have to pay for nothing! If you walk out of Tesco's with nothing you don't pay anything, get days with no internet with sky and they will rip off and still nick your money from you, do not get your internet from sky unless your happy to pay for nothing.

Worst ever by far. Cuts out throughout the day and night and constant speeds of less than 0.1 MB.
Called them to resolve and advised me to cancel as nothing they could do about speeds.
AVOID at all costs. You'd be better off using your mobile hotspot.

Beware before taking out a contract!!! I recently switched from talk talk to sky as it was a better deal. As it is the same line I knew I would get the same speeds and they had never been a problem so thought, why not? It turns out that the router included is terrible and has a lot of interference! To the point where I cannot receive signal in parts of my (small) house. As a result I use my mobile data (also sky) and need to buy extra data every month. This obviously suits sky as they are receiving more money! Don’t bother calling the tech team as they will put the phone down on you as soon as they realise you can’t be fobbed off, you then cannot leave sky without penalties as you haven’t gone through the tech team. How convenient that I spent the. Best part of 15 minutes on the phone with them but nothing was recorded on my account? Sky employ sneaky tactics to keep your custom.

AVOID SKY AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY FOR SERVICES THAT DON'T WORK!
Had sky installed and broadband wouldn't work. It had to be turned off and back on, sometimes every few minutes as the signal kept dropping out. Reported to several times Sky via Facebook messenger and chat. When asked why I had to keep repeating myself each time I contacted them, they said it was because these types of messages don't save / aren't recorded. Kept being dismissed as they'd checked the line and signal was fine.
Sent in a complaint and requested an engineer visit. Sky called when I was at work and said they'd pass me to technical team to arrange engineer visit. Passed over, technical team said line test fine, so wouldn't send engineer. Said engineer who installed it could have done it wrong, so needed to check connections. Explained no mobile signal at home and unable to communicate with them via home phone or internet as signal constantly cutting out but still wouldn't send engineer to look at it!
Chat conversations continued. Advisor asked me to change the wifi connect on my TV. I asked why this would make any difference as broadband issue. He insisted this would fix problem. No change.
Next advisor I spoke to said that changing TV settings wouldn't make any difference if fault, so didn't know why it'd been asked to do this. Still no solution. Refused engineer visit.
Had my electrician look at it and the main point hadn't been installed correctly. There were scorch marks inside, where there were around 10 live wires but only 2 were connected and in use.
Called sky and spoke to a rude woman, who again tried to completely dismiss me. Kept refusing to send an engineer despite the fact there was a risk of fire. She actually said "the scorch marks are just cosmetic." Also kept refusing to let me speak to a manager. Finally some to a manager, who was also very rude and kept telling me there was no issue as line test fine and wouldn't send an engineer. I kept repeating it was a fire risk and my house could burn down but he didn't care AT ALL. Eventually he said, "so you're worried it's a fire risk?" I said of course, that's what I've been saying, theres scorch marks that shouldn't be there if installed correctly. To which he snapped "Well that would be a health and safety issue, so we'd have to send an engineer" Which is what I'd been asking for for several weeks! He passed me back to his rude colleague to book the appointment, who said the earliest was in 3 weeks time. So I said my house could burn down in that time, this is ridiculous. She continued to argue and said there were no apointments in diary until then and nothing she could do. I said it wasnt good enough as fire risk and needed to send engineer now. Miraculously she found an appointment 2 days later.
My dad was at home when the engineer arrived, I was at work. The engineer found SEVERAL FAULTS, both inside and outside of my property. Main box installed incorrectly inside, causing scorch Mark's. Line into property faulty. Went up telephone poll outside and found wasps nest inside box at top. Checked box at bottom and completely waterlogged. Went down the street to check the main box and found it had a major wiring fault. He bypassed the issue temporarily but said he would need to return with temporary traffic lights to close road and fix, as major job. He explained all of this to my dad and kindly called to explain it all to me. When he said the line into our property was faulty, I asked why the tests sky were doing kept saying it was fine. He said the remote test conducted wouldn't be adequate to detect a fault like this and wouldn't detect any faults outside the property within the boxes. He said if the issue has just been inside out property, we wouldn't have recieved a bill for a SEVERAL HUNDRED POUNDS. Sky never mentioned any fee. But he said, as so many issues outside, company responsible for maintainence, which clearly hadn't been done and so Sky responsible for paying bill. He said our connection should be okay now and he'd send a full report to sky.
Comaplined to sky and requested broadband installation charges be refunded as installed incorrectly and in a dangerous way, which could have caused fire. Requested refund for broadband charges during this period as unable to use them. They refuse to refund my money and have requested a copy of the many chat sessions, that they've told me do not save / record in any way. I've requested to speak to a manage numerous times and been ignored. They've denied the report from the engineer shows the issues I have stated but refuse to give me a copy of it.
Sky are LIARS, who will do anything to STEAL MONEY from their customers. They refused to send an engineer when their EQUIPMENT POSED A FIRE RISK DUE TO INCORRECT INSTALLATION, they FAILED TO MAINTAIN EQUIPMENT IN STREET meaning I had NO INTERNET FOR MONTHS and are now DENYING THIS CLAIM and REFUSING TO REFUND MY MONEY FOR SERVICES COULDN'T USE due to their INCOMPETENCE NEGLIGENCE!
I WILL NOW BE TELLING EVERYONE POSSIBLE ABOUT THIS UNTIL MY MONEY IS REFUNDED. PLEASE NOTE THAT MY DIRECT DEBIT WILL BE CANCELLED UNTIL MY MONEY HAS BEEN RECOUPED OR REFUNDED.

Joke, the connection was good at the start. The more you get into it the worse it gets. Connection won’t even work upstairs most of the time. Really do not recommend especially with consoles. The connection doesn’t even work I would be lucky to get connection on my phone in my room never mind on my Xbox. Seems to be the connection is horrible all day and as soon as it his 11:30pm-12am it doesn’t even work at all it’s gone.

I've had problems, with installation within house and exterior lines. Not sure if any of it is Sky's fault, but they have got OpenReach out for the exterior problems and an engineer for my interior issue and I wouldn't fault their customer service. Expensive and they penalise you for not taking their TV so couldn't recommend.

Would like to say PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE!....do not sign up with these jokers as I nearly made the mistake of joining them,Phoned sky broadband on the 21/01/2019 to place a order for broadband. was told my line will go live on the 25/01/2019, the advisor explained because I was with Nowtv it should be a straight through order and no problems, 25/01/2019 I call to explain that no internet was working at my home. strangely enough this was the same fault exactly the same excuse Nowtv stated last year. told it was open reach fault, now the morning phoned and was told that they have no date when this will be fixed, or when I will EVER get broadband up and running.
Please take my advice NOWTV is a sister company of theres and with the experience I had with them, I gave Sky the benefit of the doubt and went with them....lie after lie with these jokers, Apparently on "Which" review site these liars have scored the worst internet provider of 2019!!! AVOID all cost!

I’ve been costumer of Sky broadband for almodt 2 years.
The ser Vice they provide is dreadful, conection drops at léase twice a week. I have to call and they fix it from their computers, but the conection has dropped around 25 time in less than 24 house. They say that the cables are old and now they need to remplace them. Now i dont have broadbad for one week because they cannot send a person before. They dont even refound because they say the contract is for rental line phone (i dont have phone) and the broadnad id for free. So i still paying even when i dont have the chance to use the broadband. This is a legal fraud, New costurera be aware of this.

Sky is day light robbery, Paid 24mb, we get around 11mbps. Wouldn't be so bad if its not a daily struggle to actually use it... shuts down completely on a daily basis, Ring the company you say? "Unplug Router wait x amount of seconds and plug back in that will solve the problem" *phone down* guess what... never works... NEVER. I want to Download somethings? have you got 3 days to wait? I wish that was an over exaggeration... I am not one for complaining and leaving reviews but I am at the end of my tether with the company now... Virgin media here we come...

Having SKY fibre means I want a fast network in my house, right? I can dream about it! Maybe 35mb/s reaches the property but when it gets to the "super fast" router it is like there's hardly any broadband in the house! Bought some extenders and even powerline adaptor to help but it does not work. Only option is to keep everything connected to a cable - which nowadays is just ridiculous! Not happy with them at all

My father rang to switch to Sky broadband and landline , he knew he needed a router with 4 connections and was told by the lady from Sky that he could have one, so he went ahead with the contract. The router arrived with one 2 connections. He rang back to be told that they don’t do 4 and he would now have to buy an extension. My father was given false information.
