Don't do a mistake like me by joining the sky. It is the worst broadband and they want to trick us. How?
When you are new to the sky and when you have time to cancel the wifi of sky they give you good and fast wifi but when you passed (31 days) the time to cancel the wifi and now you can't change to other companies or you have to pay monthly even if you are not using the wifi, then start to slow down your wifi. they make too much slow even you can,t use facebook or load a image. So don't be a next victim and use your mind.

Constant line drops, you'd be lucky to make it through streaming a single episode without a disconnect, 3-4mins no internet, then back on. Dozens of times a day. The complaints have been made, their pathetic solutions attempted, but ultimately they just deny it's their problem. Terrible reliability. Avoid using sky for your broadband.

My sky broadband is now getting to a point where it goes down 2 to 3 times a day every day - my family complains every day that the internet is down,,, ping from my son as he says ,,,my son plays online gaming
already had a new box hub from sky as the new one broke down no fault of ours - sky did say the box in broke wont cost me anything - im paying for well over 5 to 8 devices to run the fastest sky internet but now I have 5months till contract ends and I will be moving back to virgin - had enough of sky - paying over the odds - for less fast internet - also found out by my bank statement that they have put my monthly payments up without even informing me first yet being contracted myself I thought that they couldnt break there contract with me with what I had agreed to pay with them and myself breaking my contract with them as I agreed of £27 a month and now its £29 a month dont know why as my internet hasnt been working properly or I havent been getting the correct speed since being with sky

Unfortunately i have to agree with anyone who wrote a review before me. The experience with sky broadband is miserable. They really worth an oscar for such a bad service. A snail is faster than my so called optic fibre but the worst thing is that the internet drops like 20 times per day. Funny enough sky recommended to me by a friend.personally i would strongly advice everyone i know to choose an other provider.

Most miserable 2 years of internet I've had. Constant days of connection coming and going like London rain. When I wanted to cancel for that reason they asked an extra cancellation fee... For all their hard work of not working.

And in the same call they tried to sell me upgrades with money back guarantees.

How about you provide a service worth staying for in the first place? Instead of trying to sell me a deal when I want to set your building on fire.

Terrible wifi. Very slow download and upload speed, and when using a wireless connection on almost any device videos buffer after 10 seconds, and continuously buffer throughout the whole video. No matter how many times you call a technician to come diagnose the problem, the wifi will remain the same; horrendous. This is very surprising to me as we currently live in the 21st century and I am still unable to watch a 30 second video without waiting 2 minutes for it to load

Really terrible. I have had several times without internet in addition to very slow download speed in the best of times. The recent one the inernet down again I was told that it has to be looked at by a sky engineer first - appointment 11 days away. As a key worker, a teacher who must use internet to teach, this is really the last straw. Although the staff at reception was sympathetic, their manager did not appear to care. Even I'm not under any contract, they still charge me for 14 days cancellation notice without any internet! Avoid at all costs!

My 18 month experience with Sky Broadband/Media has been awful from start to finish.

After moving into my new house I decided to choose Sky as a provider. Biggest mistake! See below for the main reasons below:

    - High (hidden) set up costs
    - Unorganised set up process
    - Poor customer service
    - Annual increases to contract without consent
    - Poor internet/wi-fi connection
    - No good solutions to improve the internet

The only good thing about Sky is the range of channels. However, you have to pay a arm and a leg to get these channels. Your better off streaming Amazon Prime, Netflix, & Disney Plus for a range of good shows/films etc.

I would go in more detail about the specific bad experiences I had but don’t want to kill you guys with a essay.
Many years ago Sky was good but not no more. Don’t waste your time and money with Sky. I’ve warned you!

    Appalling. Slow with frequent outages.

Supposed to have a guaranteed download speed of 3. 8 Mbps. Often has speeds of less than 0.5 Mbps.

Customer "service" refuse to help and claim they've tested the line and it works fine. It does not.

just came to the end of my sky contract so feel I can write an honest review of sky fibre broadband. When we first got it it was perfect but as the months went on it got slower and slower and more unreliable. I am paying for 100mbps download but currently getting 30-40 when stood by my router and 10-16 from about 8 feet away. My ping is anywhere from 35-50. I would not recommend sky for Internet and will most definitely not be using them again.

Disgustingly horrific. Worst 5 years of my internet life. Honestly, if there are any alternatives in your area, use them. Buy a pigeon and it’ll be faster than this rubbish. We have averaged 0.3Mbs over the last week, and not for the first time. Slow, unreliable, and expensive. Don’t do it

Generally too inconsistent to be considered acceptable. Even at off - peak times it is extraordinary how it can just completely go for about five minutes and come back. Particularly irritating if I'm trying to play a game that requires a constant connection. I won't be tolerating it much longer and I'd encourage others not to bother in the first place

Having been a long time BT Broadband customer, I made the fateful decision in January to switch to Sky, largely so I could have my TV and broadband on the same bill. The issues began when Sky inexplicably started sending my broadband to my next door neighbour. This meant a month's wait to actually start receiving broadband services given the 2 weeks it takes to took for my neighbour to take back their line, and then the further 2 weeks for Sky to finally take over my BT service. Fast forward to mid March, and I finally start receiving broadband services from Sky, which is exactly 1/3 of the speed of my previous BT service, which is also incredibly unstable. I was told upon complaining, that there is an external issue with the openreach hub out in the street (what an amazing coincidence that this issue began at the exact moment my service switched over to Sky!). Needless to say, my patience with Sky is at an end, and I have run home to BT with my tail between my legs like a sad ex-boyfriend begging for their former partner back.

I've been a sky customer for over 10 years, running a smooth TV services and having mixed experiences with broadband.
I decided to fully upgrade my package for TV+BB and at the very end of the sales process I am informed that installation of the Sky Q box (the necessary piece of kit to extend my BB to the whole house) will take 70 days!!!! This is misselling to say the least. The day before agreed installation date they pushed it forward another 2 weeks. On the next installation date, they did not turn up, did not call and re arranged for 8 days later. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER, SHAMBOLIC, TOTAL DISREGARD TO ITS CUSTOMERS. SOLD SOMETHING THAT THEY CANNOT DELIVER.
Suggest you go somewhere else to source your TV and broadband services.

Our Sky internet is absolute crap.
It harks back to the days of dial up.
We have to reboot the router at least four or five times a day. It is so slow, we can not watch anything on Youtube. Our max download speed is 0.1mb. The whole deal is rubbish. I shall be going elsewhere when I get the time to switch. Sky? Don't give them the time of day.

I've been with Sky Broadband for five years: fibre optic with international calls included.

The service went from poor to abysmal in the last year or so. The broadband speed is as slow as it gets (keep in mind I live just outside the city, modern surroundings and Sky's own 'connectivity test' keeps telling me I have the fastest possible speed!)and, since buying a SmartTV it is downright laughable.

The box has several LAN cable inputs, not one of which actually work; you'd think it would be possible to call or email or chat to Sky about this. Think again: it isn't. Like many absolutely useless online companies nowadays, Sky have gone out of their way to make sure nobody can ever contact them about anything whatsoever.

In addition, this is the most expensive junk I've ever paid for in my life, considering the poor service, rubbish quality, slow internet speed and bad telephone connection (though that might be down to the equally useless BT). Avoid Sky if you can, unfortunately all other providers in the UK are equally rubbish.

I'm coming to the end of my 18 month contract with Sky so feel I'm in a good position to write a review. It's my first house so I don't have a previous ISP to compare to at the property.

In terms of setup, there was a slight delay to the activation date, which I was well informed about. Luckily I went away on holiday for a week a few days after moving in, so the service was activated by the time I returned. The router was delivered through the letterbox and only took 5 minutes to setup.

The router has decent coverage but unfortunately can't reach the back of the house on the first floor. It's an old house with thick, solid walls so this is understandable. I setup an old BT homehub as an access point upstairs which means I now get coverage throughout the whole house. The router works well out the box, there are a few things you can change and monitor via the My Sky smartphone app and there are some more advanced security features you can setup by navigating to the routers local IP address in a web browser.

I'm on the 36MB/s package and I've been getting that without issue. In terms of reliability, other people on Sky in my area have reported issues but I haven't experienced any. I've had a reliable connection whenever I've need it and there hasn't been significant throttling back at peak times.

Now that my contracts coming to an end, the price is set to increase by £15 per month from £27 to £42. I looked around for some better deals off other providers, along with what Sky could offer a new customer on my package (£25 p/m). I also checked online what upgrade deals they could give me and the only available upgrade was guaranteed 100MB/s for £27 per month (same as what I'm currently paying); faster speeds is nice but 36MB/s is enough for me most of the time, I'd rather save a few pounds. Armed with this information, I phone up Sky to see what they could offer over the phone (you know, these companies always say they can give you the best deals if you ring them up). I explained that I'm happy with the speed but want a cheaper price, the best they could come up with is the same speed for £27 per month - exactly what I'm paying now, which would also get me guaranteed 100MB/s if I upgraded online.

Overall, I've been happy with Sky in terms of speed and reliability but they've been unwilling to give me a competitive renewal price. I'm now moving to EE who offer 36MB/s for £23, plus £100 topcashback on top as well as 5GB extra mobile data.

The customer service is always busy, so if you have any issue at all, you can just hope they gonna get back to you. In my case, they didn´t... SKY is increasing the charges every year even though there is no improvement in their services. There are other broadband providers available that provide much more professional customer service with lower bills after all. I would recommend staying out of SKY and their overpriced services... I have been loyal to SKY for 4 years and there has been no appreciation at all, they treat you only as a paying customer...

Connection speed can actually be pretty good when the wifi is working. Unfortunately the Sky Q routers are very unreliable when it comes to wifi and the connection regularly drops or slows down to a crawl.
I have had two replacement routers so far and both display the same problem (the first one failed completely - the one I have now seems to be heading in the same direction)

Literally only have good thigns to say about sky. I've tried other companies, sky is by far the best in every regard for where I am.

Is your router acting up? No worries, your browser will automatically do a router reset, you just sit and wait.

Still a problem? No worries, without even phoning someone you can run a problem test on the website. What's that? You see there's a fault? An engineer already booked? 10 minutes this took without even a phone call? Yes, this is what happened.

I did this at 10pm, next tday by 1pm the fault had been found and fixed. My speed went from Steam download speed 1.8mb to 4.8mb.

Before you say anything, I'll have you know any other provider I've tried at best was hitting 2mbps actual download speed. Sky started at about 3-4 then when it dropps I did the thing on their website.

Anytime I've had to speak to people at Sky, it's been super polite and actually made progress, this is the handful of times it's veen required in the 4+ years I;ve been with them (on and off as I tried other companies who subsequently failed miserably to outshine sky).

I seriosuly have only good things to say about them which in the modern era of internet providers is a rare thing indeed.
