    Honestlty do not know why I opted for the faster broadband package which they promise to stay fast. Obviously a lie as I only noticed a minor increase in speed and this gradually declined to a point where online gaming was impossible. Knowing all of the bad press regarding their piss poor customer service I switched to another company because I am not one for spending 3hours on a line with somebody reading from a script card as to why I am not actially going to be leaving. Nope let the other company deal with it. Then they took next months money from my account anyways. Why should I pay for a piss poor service that has been in breach of my contractual agreement for the past few months? Sky did this as did Virgin. Offer faster service for more money and deliver for the cooling off period before dropping speeds to the standard level and if they can get away with it then they drop those speeds as much as possible. Honestly pissed off at UK Broadband providers. With EE now and hope they are a lot better.

    This was the worst experience I have had with any company in my lifetime. (I'm 50).
    My router hadn't arrived. When I enquired where, the call operators were so rude I told them not to send the router and to cancel the order.
    Then:
    Spent over four hours on the phone and website during the 7 calls i made that day.
    I had the call dropped on 3 calls after staff claiming they don't know what to do.
    I was lied to by operators saying they couldn't cancel my order please I failed security.
    I was lied to again when they claimed they couldn't cancel it because I could not provide my talktalk home number even after I told them my package was not allowed a home number. (I know)
    All I could do was cancel my DD. Guess what? They re-instated it. I had to call the bank and sort that. Then I recieve an email saying my router is on its way......
    So... do you still think talktalk is a good idea.
    Apologies for writing a similar review previously but am writing this one the Trading standards Gov dep.
    You see an app on my device record all calls automatically and I think they will take a very, very dim very upon Talktalk.co.uk's operative tactics and behaviour.

    Been with Talk Talk for several years and not really had many issues. Recently however we've had intermittent Broadband since approx. August. After many phone calls the issue remains unresolved. Highly annoying having to run through the same tests time and time again. Am in the process (again) of trying to get this fixed and will then transfer to a different company. This is annoying at any time of the year but when trying to order gifts etc. at Christmas time it is a real nuisance. Any online gamers should also avoid as games are continuously disconnected.

Your bill will escalate and there wont be anything you can do about it unless you agree to yet another 18 month contract with them . if you want to sign a contract with the devil go with talk talk you wont be dissapointed you can never ever leave them without parting with an extortionate amount of cash .TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE stay away .

    I ignored the warnings signs.

    We've moved around a lot and used TalkTalk at our last 3 properties, but gradually the service we've received has gone from poor to unusable. Having been promised that the speed wouldn't drop below 2 Mbps, we've been checking and it rarely goes above 1 Mbps. On contacting Customer Services we are directed to an automated system that sends us text message updates as it runs checks, which is good.

    But, having failed to solve the problem we then must speak to actual people and are transferred around an India-based call centre. After repeating ourselves to every TalkTalk operator, we finally speak with a poorly trained "Technical Adviser" who runs some more checks and then becomes convinced that the problem is the microfilters. When challenged on this conclusion (you'll need to trust me now, it definitely wasn't the microfilters) they offer to send out an engineer for an extra charge of £60. Alternatively, if you then wanted to cancel your contract, because TalkTalk have failed to provide the minimum agreed service, they will try to charge you a £50 cancellation fee. How are service providers operating in the UK allowed to offer such a poor service?

    Avoid using TalkTalk at all costs.

    I wish there was a NO star option. Very bad customer service, specially in lieu of the recent panic they gave their customers after cyber attack. Zero loyalty to a long time customer. Bad Bad Bad.

    SHOCKING COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. Stay away from talk talk if you are thinking of joining. Customer service are no help, YES you will be calling customer service very often if you do join because the company / boardband / fibre service is nothing but useless

    ive just read the comments on here about talk talk believe me no1 is exaggerating by far the worst company going ,the problem is I cant wright what I would like to as this company nearly caused me to have a heart attack ,if u move home and you are with this company you are going to get very stressed ive spent 20hours on phone ,emails complatiants ect .but what I want to know is why have this company not been closed down? I have more respect for a thief than this company why Cameron don't you do something about this idiots?

    Broadband constantly cuts out and is slow. Customer service is rude. They also once cut me off for no reason. I wish I had researched their service more before I joined.

    This company is the worst company in UK, the management is completely rubbish they don't know what they doin, it took them 6 months to install a business line and when installation happened it did not work. Our previous line went down for 7 days, ended up finding new supplier and lost more than £3000 worth business Please don't make this mistake find any other company but not Talk Talk. YOU WILL REGRET GOING WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

    Broadband continually cuts out, had a new socket fitted, new router, engineer reset system which recovered my speed. 1 week later- broadband continually cuts out blah blah, spend yet another hour on phone while they say no fault- just utter rubbish.

    Hi,

    Been with TalkTalk for a while now and I can confidently say that this by far the worst ISP in the UK. I could wrap a plate in tin foil and stick a fork in it and get better service than TalkTalk does.

    I would rate it less than 1 stars if I could.

    Internet is out for 5 days and counting. Informed them on day 1 and it's still not fixed.

    Refund policy is horrible – they simply give money back for days with no internet. The problem is with promising to provide a service, binding you with a contract, and then failing to provide it. Insolent.

    I must advise not to get with talktalk it is the worst broadband I have ever had in my life, the customer service is discusting! Don't be fooled by the price the catch is You have to pay upfront line rental which means you are tied in and if you was to move home they would make you get a whole new contract out! Believe that this has been the first review I have ever written as I am absolutely annoyed by talktalk I have to let everyone know that it is the worst!!!!!! Do not go with talk talk for the price it's not worth the hassle very poor connection and when you need them to fix it they wil take over a week fix it for a few days and it will drop again! Ee have very affordable prices which have better speeds

    I currently have a Fibre Large deal with TalkCrap

    58.41 Mb/s 8.31 Mb/s 29 ms Douglas ~ 100 mi Share

    Complete waste of money/time. Insulting, incompetent staff with no interest in helping. Over dramatised politeness/apologies rather than sorting out an issue.

    So being 8.31 upload and the threshold being 8.2 - 'Enjoy the rest of your contract Unhappy Customer... We're done!'

    Trading standards anyone?

    The line was capable of 17Mb/s up, for a year straight.

    TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!

    DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE OUT A ACCOUNT WITH TALK TALK!!!!!

    I took out a service with them last year November, when it came to installation day it was a shambles it took two men to try and install my service which they never got up and running I was told to go out and buy an additional part which I did only to get home and it doesn’t fit!! Then another engineer came out and fixed the problem but I was then told that my super fast fiber wouldn’t be active for another two week. That’s when I said I am cancelling because I have been misinformed about the product and service I was offered. So I called talk talk and cancelled my account only for them not to really close the account and receive emails and debt collector letters saying that I owe talk talk 90pounds for a service I had for one day. I called talk talk back again I was told sorry and that my account would be closed. Now we are in JUNE!!!!! And my account was still open so I called them today again and I was assured that my account would be closed and that I wouldn’t receive anymore email from talk talk about my account being open and from the debt collectors so fingers crossed .

    Moral of the story don’t take out a line with talk talk!!!!!!!

    Absolutely dreadful. I have wasted so many hours on the phone, had 3 routers, a visit from a Talk Talk engineer, a visit from an Openreach engineer and eventually been released from my contract after 5 months. Save yourself some grief and look elsewhere.

    First things first TALKTALK is a piece of crap and please believe me nobody sign up to this crap and im happy i've just left them and switched to sky, all these effers are in india and cannot help you they say they're doing all this trouble shooting crap and make you turn the router off and all this next bullcrap and they just ring your house phone acting like they are doing something these people dont know what the eff they are doing and this is why they been hacked before and lost most of their crap. Please everyone stay away from this crapty company, when my house phone rings the internet would cut off like im still living in the late 90's.

    Stay well clear. They treated me really bad. I had broadband, phone and mobile phone with them. Broadband goes down so I report it and they took several weeks to resolve it and that was only after me constantly chasing them. In that time they cut my mobile phone despite me paying for my mobile by direct debit so there had been no outstanding debt. I was promised that I would be compensated for my trouble so they ask me when I first reported the fault. Silly of me for not noting the time and date of my calls. I asked if they could look in their records and I was shocked that they said I only reported the fault 2 days ago.

    I found some of their staff to be extremely rude, misleading, and in one case a complete liar.

    I have since moved to BT Infinity and I am paying slightly more but at least I'm paying for a service worth the money.

    STAY CLEAR OF TALKTALK !!!

    AVOID TALK TALK - EVEN IF THEY WERE FREE!
    11 weeks late installing landline and broadband into house. it still isn't working now, cannot receive in-coming calls. reported this 2 weeks ago, nothing has been done about it. Am demanding compensation. will not be renewing contract with them again that is for sure. Utterly useless and unhelpful customer experience.

    Have been with TalkTalk (and its predecessors) for about 18 years. The best thing I can say about it is "it works" although it is painfully slow (2.0 Mb download). We are at the end of a string of Edwardian copper telephone lines strung along wooden poles - the surrounding (rural) area has had access to fibre broadband for some time. It would be pointless changing providers as the infrastructure precludes any improvement. TalkTalk have recently improved the stability of the connection but at the expense of a reduction in speed. "Better the Devil you know.........!"

    Talk are the biggest crooks I have ever dealt with!, At the end of every month from the beginning of 2014 I have had to call Talk Talk to complain the broadband speed has dropped to 0.5 these calls could take up to two hours attempting to follow an Indian contact who barely speaks English after approx. 4 hours the speed returns to 5. Three visits from engineers confirm the exchange server is not capable of supplying the number of customers on it. Eventually the broadband drops out all together after two months of trying to get it reinstated, I went to another provider, these people are incompetent, dishonest and in my opinion taking money under false pretences, complaining to the CEO Manager in Southampton, I met a new bunch of incompetent idiots who suggested another engineer came to my house, I explained again the fault lies in the exchange and not to send an engineer, I then got a bill for a cancelled engineer, Talk Talk should be investigated by an outside government department, Crook, Liars, Fraudsters!. Incidentally on changing my provider, my broadband speed went immediately to 16, so much for faulty telephone lines etc.

    Stay well clear, rubbish customer service departments, terrible you view box( my Sega Mega drive had more processing power), awful online security (well we all know this) demanding money at end of account when no money is due. JUST a bunch of @#?!@

    I gave them advanced notice of leaving my property and to stop my contract when it ended however, they tried to continue to bill me and denied that I had contacted them to close the account since the representative didn't record anything on their system (even though I kept a record of the online chat).

    They then tried to bill me for a month "cooling period/notice period" despite the above. This then suddenly decreased to a 7 day notice period and they continued to try to bill me.

    Overall, customer service was terrible and they constantly try to get more money out of you (even told me I may get a fee for cancelling my direct debit AFTER I was allowed to a month earlier).

    Broadband speed:
    Terrible, much better providers out there for the same price (we used broadband and not fibre since they could not provide fibre to our area).

    Broadband reliability:
    Constant (with drop outs around 8-10PM and the over the phone advice was that it was our property and not their end despite me sitting 3 metres from the router in the same room...). It also routinely didn't work if you had a laptop + 2 phones attached to it (despite us being told it would support up to 4 devices with no problem).

    Overall AVOID - changed to virgin and had no problems since and the customer care has been a lot lot better (we now get 100MB VIRGIN download vs 10MB TALKTALK download for the same price).

    the worst company I have ever had anything to with.
    faulty broadband for months, sent round in circles, by different people, all telling different things to do, after months found it was a faulty router.
    Even charged £5+ for a help phone call, can you believe it.

    Ordered a package, didnt recive anything at all in 10 days, called up told they couldnt find my address so had cancelled the order from their end did I want to restart it, no I didnt as they had cancelled it without any communication with me, went to BT (cannot fault them and only a few quid more) then out of blue got a txt from bt saying someond was wanting to take over the line and a message from talk talk saying their servics would activate soon, rang them and they said since they could now find my address (since bt had sorted lind out) they had restarted a new order with no permission from me, WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DELT WITH dont use them ever

    My situation is maybe a little unique as I was never technically a customer as I cancelled before going live (phew!). However I did give them an 'upfront payment' before connection and there lies my problem.

    I have been chasing my money now for over month after being originally told '10 days max'. I've spent a lot of time on the phone do these people (India? Philippines?) who are always polite and apologetic yet completely powerless and scripted.

    I logged a formal complaint against one specific guy who blatantly lied to me only to find that my complaint was logged as 'related to refund', I was told I'd receive a phonecall to follow up on the complaint only to receive a text message from a personal number from a guy called 'Juan' (no, I'm serious!) saying they had tried to contact me and would be closing the complaint in 3 days if I didn't reply. Juan does not reply to texts.

    After this I received a more formal email saying that they will be resolving my complaint by sending me the money! It was always my money and never in dispute that it was being sent to me.

    Anyway I'm hoping for a resolution soon! Horrible company, avoid like the plague!
