After spending 1.5 hours on the phone to incompetent members of staff about the sluggish broadband speed and no solution provided I've decided I'm leaving talk talk. Any cash savings are reflected in the atrocious customer service from this company. Go elsewhere is my advice.

The only time I spoke to an adviser to report issues with my broadband speed; I was appalled at the attitude from the member of staff. The service I have received has left me greatly dissatisfied with the company and I will not be a returning customer.

As somebody else did, no stars.
    TT customer support is terrible!!
Nearly 4 weeks now with no broadband. All it needs is for openreach to sort the problem but TT would rather waste time sending new routers or passing the problem to their network engineers than pass to openreach. Can only assume it costs them money they don't want to spend. Long term custom means nothing to them. I cant emphasise enough how useless talktalk are. As many people have said, do not go anywhere near them, for one am not staying with them.....I'll be off soonest to one of the others. Everything they do is designed to protect them. Support cannot email customers just in case they commit to something they wouldn't like to do so they want no records other then their own recordings which I have heard mysteriously disappear when it supports the customer! Likewise you cannot email them as it would mean you would have a record of their reply and all their lies etc.
Don't touch them with a barge pole or indeed anyone else's barge pole!!

Broadband is very slow, customer service has to be the worst in the world, they will do anything and everything for you not to cancel, my grandmother wanted to cancel and even though she didn’t want it they made it so difficult even out of contract that she stayed with them. They can hardly speak English at all which doesn’t help and when I asked if I could upgrade my speeds I was on the phone for 3.5 hours trying to get an answer and getting passed around! And in the end they said they had an error?! The speeds are so poor it is pretty much non existent, I cannot wait for this contract to end and end this talk talk nightmare!

Absolutely useless. Make a complaint about lack of service (no internet) and nothing gets done. Many apologies given by many people but nothing gets done. Can't wait to leave.

Customer service is based in South Africa and simply hard work ! the people are trained in process and not common sense
And often the simplest of questions they have to go ask supervisors or fob you off to another department - including complaints who never did call me back - recommend calling home moves based in Ireland much more competent people ! Overall just hard work getting something simple sorted.

Worse service ever!!!!! if you are thinking to do a contract with them just do a favor to yourself and ignore they exist. I havent had internet for 5 days and when they finally decided to send a engineer to fix my problem they cancelled at the time of the appointment. Even when was confirmed a hour before the appointment. the only solution that they offered was rebook to another day. the early appointment available was next week, so another week without internet. In the end, I have to ask a day off for nothing I havent had internet for 14 days and they simple dont care about they costumers. so worse service ever that I had to deal so far.

Talk talk. The first months of the contract, the Internet is fast, then the signal is very low, when you call to make the claim they have you online for about 1 hour in front of a computer acting as an employee for them, then they send you a technician who comes to your house and that he puts in his system a few numbers that solves the problem for a day, then the problem continues, and the worst thing is that Bill paid for it myself. Is incredible

-1 in my view!! Worst service I have ever received! Cancelled my home move and a renewed account twice and then expect me to go through two credit checks because of THEIR mess!! South African call centre BEYOND useless with people who can’t even spell!! Waiting, after 6 weeks of not having broadband, to have a CEO management complaints member to ring me! Now can’t get broadband through another provider due to 3 credit checks put through by these fools!! Wait for over an hour with no resolution! Have made over FIFTY calls since 27 January with still no help!!

I requested for a phone line, fibre and line transfer. Some guy from BT came around and mess up my next door sockets in order to put wrong phone number. His line and the system isn't working at all. Talk Talk has been giving me appointments 2-3 weeks, long waiting, 6 times happened then cancelling it or sometimes they don't bother to call to cancel. I am out of the fibre, transfer and my line. ON top of that they are billing me for the wrong broadband and wrong line into someone else socket they put in. HORRIBLE experience. I suffered a heavy loss and they don't bother.

We have been with talk talk for about 3 years.now. I recently moved house so really trusted talk talk however it is getting out of hand now. When we joined talk talk promised to provide with good internet speed (17mph) however checking th internet speed from talk talk website its 2.6mph. This is rediculous. Complained about it engineer came and checked however didnot give a
satisfying answer to why it is so slow that when i try to use my internet in my nbedroom it does not work atall. This is false advertising. We decided to get the fiber where as thisthe original contract should have been so enough for us to use as there are only devises we use wifi in. I am just hating this and would surely think twice before i get my contract renewed again!!

    Well

been with talktalk in our church office and it chugged along pretty unspectacularly, but it worked - that is until we finally had to get a new photocopier! The engineer said our router was so old it would not network properly so after many attempts to change the name on the account (as it was set up by a previous person years ago) and threats to leave we finally got sent a new router.

And that's when the real problems began.

The green connection light is red more often than it is green and even when it is green the service drops out before e-mails can arrive and don't even bother trying to use the internet! resetting the router sometimes gets us some e-mails through, but we have wasted literally days of time on the phone either waiting for or speaking to engineers/service staff. One finds a problem, transfers us to another department who then says there is no problem. well we're done. The office cannot function like this - the problem is it seems most companies seem to struggle as soon as there is any fault if you read the reviews, so its just trying to find the right company to switch to for phone/broadband who will fix issues without hours wasted and without breaking the bank..

So many things to point out, I have been with this company for home phone, internet, and I still have a mobile contract with them. The internet speed was so poor, they then put their prices up to fiber optic without making any improvements to the poor service, instead of rolling my contract over and finding out at the very end after nearly signing that they would be imposing a £5 a month fee for not signing up to direct debit, which they left out telling me this for my mobile phone contract, (even if you wanted to be on direct debit this company purposefully will not tell you a date when they are taking the money nor can you allocate a date, your account must always just contain money). Talk talk ignored that on the basis of the fee I want to shop else where and falsely took a contact out in my name that i had not authorized, now I had two internet contracts rolling, after countless managerial talks and half hearted apologies they listened to the call and said the member of staff would be reprimanded, then they still tried to collect false funds for months for a contract breakage fee, hello no contract was set up! They still havnt been bothered to remove this from their computer systems. I'm so thankful to never have them for internet or home line ever again. The call centres are impossible, no English speaking people and communication with people who do not understand the English language is hard you just go round and round in circles. I have been issued from the start of my mobile contract with a faulty piece of equipment, it flicks off the internet all the time back to the start screen I sent it to the geek squad who where useless and said its wonderful, talk talk have washed their hands with helping me with it, they are total con artists, they failed to tell me about the £5 non direct debit fee, they have also tried to trick me a few times regarding the late fee, telling that ok no problem its only a matte of pence madam you can pay next time, then I say but will i get a late fee, they then say yes, so instead of paying 0.07p i would have to pay an extra £10 on that, i said to the lady you tried to trick me, she profusely apologized, i think talk talk tell them to leave out telling their customers about the late fee, also i found out one day when i got tied up and didn't pay my bill till a little later, that if i didn't pay my bill before 3pm i would get charged a late fee, so i had to shout my bank card details in the middle of the town so as not to get charged another unknown consequence i had never been told. Also the my account site is just rubbish, if your like me and you don't remember your passwords, they will not help you I'm acquiring a new one, having taken down the wrong spelling of the email I wanted that caused me so difficulty, then because I couldn't sign in to my account they just had decided to send me paper bills and charge me like £2 a month for these, then I had to call each time to get it reverted, I cannot wait for my mobile contract to end I will be recording all calls encase they just roll over my contract illegally again, I never want to be a talk talk customer for the rest of my life, you are a disgraceful company, NEVER go with talk talk ever.

As far as I am concerned, the overall broadband experience from Talk Talk was no better or worse than any other provider, but what sets them apart is absolutely shocking customer service.
I looked to move, called CS and they opened a case to see if they could provide... wait a call back. They call off a 0800 number to the number you logged (after going through security) and ask you to go through security questions. Yes they advise a call is due in a window, but I will never answer a security question on an inbound call. You then get a text saying you were ‘unavailable’ and they will try again. Same drill.
You call them back answer security and get told ‘we’ll log a case’! Finally get through to find out they can’t supply to new address (had already moved) so I have to terminate, pay early leave fee (understand) pay notice (understand) but not from the date of the original call (miffed) and also I am liable for any costs incurred in the next 30 days !!
Oh yes and with various lengthy holds that was 50 minutes of my life I’ll not get back.
Talk Talk their CS can do, but satisfaction from a call ??

    Avoid them is my advice

The quality of the talk talk connection was disturbingly low and rarely fast. It surprised me at first until this became a habit. Not at all acceptable and not worth of my money. At least when I had sky it was faster. What a disappointment talktalk. There are many times where I wonder about my contract with you guys and I have now came to the conclusion that talktalk’s overall programe is ****. I am embarrassed to say that I have talktalk contract. Disgraceful and I am clearly disappointed with the effort to change this situation.

So awful. Used the online chat to register for broadband and the advisor couldn't keep information straight. I'd ask a question and get one answer which meant I was happy to proceed then later in the conversation they'd go back and say that the earlier answer was completely wrong and act like they had no clue where I'd gotten the information from even though you could scroll back up and see the whole chat. The advisor that day said I would receive a confirmation email and a second email to set up a password for my online account within 48 hours. Then that a welcome pack would arrive within 3-5 days. Been over 4 days now and the only email I've had is an automatic one with direct debit terms and conditions. Speaking to another advisor by online chat and all previous information was wrong, no apologies just the attitude that obliviously I shouldn't be complaining about not having received anything yet. This advisor says they won't look into why I haven't had a confirmation email until its been 6 days (much more then the 24-48 hours advised before) and that the online account can't be activated until the broadband is live so at least 2 weeks once I've received my router in the post etc. Last advisor has said I could use my online account to track the order but apparently I can't access it until the order is already delivered and the service active. In the same conversation with the same advisor I've given 3 different dates for when the same service would be available, completely insane that these people are meant to be providing information and are able to sign you up for services. God knows what I've actually been signed up for and whether it is what I agreed to. No idea how long the welcome pack with all terms and conditions is going to take to come. Given your ability to change your mind about the service without incurring costs is dependent on doing so before the service activates it seems like they are trying to hide the terms and conditions long enough to stop them being reviewed before charges start. Just been told that there is no error or issue despite the fact they have 'sent' an email to the correct email address but it has not arrived to my inbox, spam etc. and obviously based on this success I should have complete confidence that the welcome pack will arrive. And been told its just something that sometimes happens, not all customers receive the confirmation emails despite them showing as sent their side? If it wasn't such a well known name I'd think the whole thing was a scam and be calling the bank/canceling the payment card because the whole thing is run so awfully

DONT sign up for this ISP!
This service went down repeatedly (both line + internet), from 1-3 1/2 weeks at a time. You are expected to claim compensation if need be, but only within a very short time frame, and of course this detail was not made explicit. Hence, having missed the tiny window I was changed for a service that was actually not provided (oh and all the other financial losses due to the loss of service....Access to someone to actually speak to is very difficult involving the usual navigation of either computer mazes or telephone mazes whilst speaking to a computer only. The Asian staff that you eventually get to speak to when everything is resolved are highly decent...the only part of the system worth having. The speed of the broadband is poor, especially at peak times with regular freezing. The service is very expensive unless you have the time to regularly review your package (ie you pay for everyone else who has time to review their package to get a cheap deal) oh and lets not forget the fact that they don't keep their customers data secure!!!!!

Unfortunately I had to give them one star. If it was my choice I wouldn't even give them half!
    Horrendous customer service!
6 months after canceling I'm still getting emails saying 'this month's bill is ready' it took them 2 months from the date I asked to cancel to actually cancel, I canceled due to the cyber attack. But due to being away on deployment for 8 months, I still had to pay the admin and the cancellation fee, they sent me the notification to pay the admin cancellation fees 2 months after I had phoned to cancel, as soo as I got the email I phoned to pay, another 2 months later I got a bill for 100 admin late fee?!? As I paid it late even though I paid it the day I had the email, they argued they sent it a month earlier and sent me a letter, BUT to my old address as well which I had over the phone told them my new address when I phoned to cancel which I had to pay 10 admin fee on change of address!!!!
They wouldn't let me speak to management, only a stupid guy who o couldn't understand half of the time, he wouldn't answer any of my questions as he said he couldn't answer them. Horrendous !!

I have only had to contact TalkTalk 3 times in the last 4 years and every time they have been fantastic!!!
Most recently our router broke. I called the call centre at 930 on a Friday night at got through to the delightful Lisa. She was very professional and incredibly helpful. Less than 2 working days later we have a new router and are connected to the world again! Thank you for providing such an excellent service. And please pass my thanks on to Lisa!!

Absolutely awful company. I tried twice to get broadband installed and each time it got cancelled. No fault of mine. They did not even email or ring me to tell me it was cancelled. Hardy even apologetic when on the phone to try and resolve the matter. They then still expected me to stay with them HA. Such a shame as I've now been waiting over a month for WiFi and so am having to use my own data again through no fault of my own. Absolutely awful customer service.

Had broadband working for about 2 days then it stopped working. Called talktalk, they said they were going to do some tests and ring back, never heard anything back. Rang them again, man on phone was useless, just kept disappearing and not saying anything. End of call, nothing is resolved. Paying for a service that we cannot use and that is rubbish. Will be pursuing a refund and looking at other providers. Very unreliable and not bothered about fixing the issues either.

What a lot of rubbish. I have never heard such a pathetic attempt from customer services. One of the so called managers called me today regarding my bill. And because of personal & medical circumstances they want me to provide a doctor's letter of proof of my condition so that they can supposable help me with my bill. So just a little warning to all out there next time you need a sick note please ask your doctor for one to send to this pathetic braodband provider. I am so upset, angry and disappointed with this out come. They also cut off my broadband expect me to pay the remaining balance plus they have added another £150 on top of it due some legal stuff.

Absolute rubbish, we barely have internet as it drops out constantly for days on end. I can't find a way to contact them at all. I've been trying for the past week.
meant to be working from home due to this coronavirus, my job is now in jeopardy because I can't get anything done (Ive been hit with a massive phone bill because I've had to use my data), I can't contact my family who are on the other side of the globe.

Just close my guy, just close.

I've not been a TalkTalk customer for nearly under 2 years and I now start recieving letters from Debt collectors demanding payment for £35 as TalkTalk have sold on my account... I was out with my 18 months contract when I switched 2 years ago and to my knowledge made my last payment when I switched. I raised a complaint with TalkTalk and i initially got a response apologising saying a manager would contact me in the next 3 days. As this didn't happen I phoned them from the number in the email as they had stated this would be the quickest way to get an update to my complaint and this is where the fun begins... The incompetence of the Indian woman I spoke to (who took a good five minutes to even take my name) and kept requesting my name and postcode after every question, told me she could not assist me, refused to take my complaint reference and told me to contact the debt collection agency. Furious at this point I repeatedly tried to explain I was calling for an update to my complaint and she just kept repeating "take the number". Put me on hold and came back several minutes and told me to take down the number again... When I asked to speak to a manager and asked her name she then tried the age old "hello, hello?" Could hear laughing in the background and them she muted her phone, forcing me to hang up after 27 minutes of nothing. I responded to the original complaint on Monday and have still not had a reply so will be escalating to CISAS. I'm not even a customer and I'm having to deal with this! Their customer service and broadband are truly awful wouldnt deal with this company if they paid me! Avoid at all costs.

I left Virgin for TalkTalk; I stayed with TalkTalk for over 2 years & now I'm with GNetwork.
I am now getting double the speed at half the price that TT offered. I didn't want to leave TT but they couldn't match the price.
I told them then and there I was giving them a months notice.
Because I was having to keep their services for an extra month I would be on a monthly contract, so from paying about £24/m I was now going to pay &36/m!

Good: The speed and quality of connection was excellent.
Bad: Not easy to get in touch with them, everything is automated and it doesn't run smoothly all the time.
Leaving them has been and still is an uphill battle. After a month and few days my line was still live; I called them and they argue that because I didn't listen to their T&C they didn't action my request and I have to pay another month at £36 before my contract is terminated.

The termination process left a bitter aftertaste that does not go away.
    I cannot recommend Talk Talk.

Moving to a new fibre provider tommorrow been with talktalk for years, cannot put up with the customer services anymore regular outages automated text messages telling you they have checked the line and found nothing wrong when you have no internet connection , customer service representatives who dont listen to you and who seem to have a language barrier with the english language, prices have become more expensive time to try a new provider.

Most useless provider so far. Pay stupid amounts of money for crap internet. It seems to go off each evening. Each night I come home to a red internet light and have to turn off then on again. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Now at the point where I'm riding out the contract and will refuse to go near them.

The worst company for both broadband speeds and customer service. The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life from my initial sign up to my cancellation of services. Avoid at all costs.

Fell at the first fence. Confirmed our order, lost our order and maybe our data. Overseas customer services dont appear to know what they are doing. Promises of call backs not kept. Just a catalogue of poor service. We are now 16 days without broadband.
