Probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Inconsistent staff, broken promises, constant lying and overall very poor service. Can not believe this company still has customers. It would be in the interest of the consumer to shut Talk Talk down and start again with customer service training and that goes right to the top. The only great thing is that hundred of people feel the same way about Talk Talk so at least you know when they are abrupt and rude down the phone to you that its not just you they treat like this!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Switched from Virgin to Talk Talk to lower my bills... what a regret! Internet and broadband only worked for a week! I then was misinformed by the customer service department saying I could leave with no charges (cooling off period), which it turns out had actually already ended, so have been chasing up complaints with multiple days now - and nothing has been resolved. Very stressful experience for really bad service all around. Nightmare dealing with customer service department... I'm never making this mistake again and hope this review will serve as warning to others from having the same issues, if they are thinking of joining.

Talktalk is the worst provider ever. Even my kids cannot wait for the contract to end. They keep sending engineers out but nothing gets fixed. The connection is so slow and erratic. I am absolutely frustrated and I feel like I am being ripped off. I pay for services I do not get. Please a word of advice do not go near Talktalk for your own peace of mind.

They don't listen and resolve the problem but instead they had the gut to call us and tell us to stop with the complaints! This crazy service !.D lol this must be embarrassing for u lot to hear. #ShouldBeAshamed

I am so feed up with this company. I have been customer for more than three years and they still act on the same way than the first day,so witch I thought that could be just some mistakes from this internet provider company it is actually rutinary behaviours to confuse people and sell their products.
Yesterday, I spend more than two hours in a chat conversation explaining my current issue witch is that I depend on the installation of my broadband and also a upgrade of it otherwise I will lose my job to witch they did not respond accord at all to the gravity of the situation, the person at the other side of the chat would agree with my certain term for the new contract and then on the moment of closing the contract he will change everything trying to make me start a new contract of 18 month and not considering at all the need of an immediate service a need, witch on my opinion it's a clear intent of confusing the customers and trying to scam them. After realising this I would ask the person to put me through a supervisor several times but he didn't want to do it answering back with questions of another nature, once I got hold of the supervisor and after talking with him for a while He give exactly the same treat and at the end this person stop answering for 15 minutes waiting for the time they close the chat. I consider my self lucky to have a minimum of English to realised what they were trying to do but I can imagine foreings as I am or people of the third age buying for all this and when it happened we are completely powerless as the big companies like this one's will never lose against the people that contract their services.

I have been without a phone for over 6 weeks now. We had an outreach engineer visit who said the problem was outside the house and required digging to fix the problem. Talk talk contacted me and informed me the job would be done by 13th September. The date come and nothing happened. I phoned them for an update and treated the call as a new fault report and said they will have to send an engineer. They don't listen to you at all. Avoid talk talk.

Shocking broadband service. Every 2 minutes disconnect. Speed is ridiculously slow and disconnect ,disconnect, disconnect and again disconnect. I can say for sure talktalk alongside Vodafone are the worst broadband service provoders in the UK. One worse than the other one. Trust me it will give you a heart attack over your 12 months contract period,if you decide to go with either of these shambolic companies. STAY AWAY FROM TALKTALK AND VODAFONE.

I have TalkTalk TV, Broadband and Mobile Phone.
Everything was fine with not many problems during the first year.
I had a letter from carphone warehouse (TalkTalks phone supplier) to say that their computers had been hacked and customer records had been stolen, I took this letter to my bank to check that my account was OK.
For security reasons my bank stopped all direct debits from TalkTalk, I did confirm this with TalkTalk, instantly the placed a £4 charge on all of my contracts £12 per month.
On various occasions I have gone on line to pay my billa with my credit card only to receive a message to say that the page I want is unavailable due to maintenence, because my payment did not go through on that day they charged £10 per contract as a missed payment call, the day after This I had 27 missed calls from Talktalk (I was at work so missed them) all demanding payment.
I paid the bill early in the morning on the day after the due bill.
I called the Talktalk call centre as this is the only wa you can contact, there are no email addresses etc on their website, only to be insulted by them by being told that I had not paid the bill on time so they cut me off.
Within the hour my mobile phone goes dead (the bill has been paid at this time)then more phone calls from India.
I can't wait until my contracts run out then it is goodbye to talktalk, the do not care for their customers they are only interested in your money, miss a payment by 1 day and you are bombarded by calls from India demanding an instant payment over the phone,, Sorry Talktalk I will not give my credit card details to someone who phoned me over the phone, the caller could be anyone attempting to get your details.
Rant over, get your act together TalkTalk.

signed up, waited for an engineer visit to connect new line, engineer came found telegraph pole at full capacity unable to connect me, informed me i would have to wait for openreach to do something (what or when unclear) NOT TALKTALKS FAULT
what is talktalks fault; I called talktalk to find a complete lack of English speaking or understanding call centre, then unable to tell me more until get engineer report sit and wait, fair enough!!
following day though talktalk inform me i missed the engineers appointment to connect my services and would have to rebook an engineer...
again contacted talktalk this time via online chat, which after an hour I was passed to 5 different departments, spoke to 5 different people explaining the issue and giving my details each and everytime for them to say, I missed the engineers appointment...
I asked to cancel my services no less than a dozen times eventually got it cancelled asked about router return and told to call an expensive 0870 number to get a returns bag.
wasted day waiting for an engineer, wasted time calling talktalk, wasted time online to talktalk, want more out of me for a returns bag.
All in all TalkTalk has proved to be the poor rated company people say it is!!

Customer service is very poor. It's easier to swim the channel than leave them (over 2 hrs online and still no cancellation). Complaints procedure is unbelievably long-winded and a complete waste of time.

I signed up for Fibre broadband which apparently delivers up to 38Mb. I'm getting 1Mb. Absolute disgraceful. After complaining to Talk Talk, an engineer tried to fix the issue. Now I have no internet. Talk Talk promised to provide update but none was given. I called customer services and literally wasted hours, only to be told to wait a further 24 hours. So I waited and still no internet. Wastes more time talking to Talk Talk customer services who had no clue what was going on. Now told to wait another five days. Meanwhile I continue paying Fibre price for absolutely nothing.
Talktalk charges less than other companies. But trust me, you get even less than what you pay for!

What a shambles. Ordered fibre connection on line, received an order confirmation with go live date also received a letter confirming direct debit. Go live date came and went..nothing!! Phoned talktalk told I didn't have an order (strange) tried to reorder but told I could not keep my existing number... wait for it... because there was already an order on the line (presumable the order they told me did not exist). Asked to talk to a manager who said he could sort it out but I must keep on the line and whatever I did not to disconnect...waited listening to silence for 30 - 40 mins and then they put the phone down... I guess their call center staff think this is funny. Called back to to complain and was sent around the houses before eventually getting put through to customer loyalty who said "I understand you want to know what your go live date will be"... Does anyone at talktalk actually understand plain english or have any sense of what customer service should be? By this time I was fuming and made sure they deleted all my details from their system including being deleted from marketing material. Do talktalk really believe that this is a way to sell a service? So feeling extremely angry I phoned Plusnet and boy what a contrast I've placed my order and was smiling at the end of the call, the girl I spoke to was excellent... shame on talktalk!

I have been a customer for many years and have just discovered that they are charging me over £40 on a legacy package and have never informed me of much cheaper options, despite my partial sight. My internet has not been working for several days, and I have spent over 5 hours on the phone or the chat section trying to get some answers. They told me they had rung me and left voice messages. There are no missed calls or voice messages only phone. Seriously, I don't think the word customer figures inter business model

Nothing but constant problems and shocking customer services. At first we tried the normal broadband. We were told we would get speeds of 18mb but in reality we barley got 1mb. It was like internet in the mid 90's. We then moved up to the 38mb fibre package and told we would get speeds of 38mb. Speeds would average between 33mb to 37mb for 2 for 4 months at a time before dropping to single digits. So every 2 to 4 months we would have to contact Talk Talk to get our speeds back. They would last another 2 to 4 months then drop again. We asked if moving up the 76mb fibre package would be better and we were told yes it would be much better. They told us we would get 68mb speeds. But in reality speeds are barley 20mb. So the 76mb package is actually WORSE than the 38mb package. Contacted Talk Talk tech support over 240 times in an 9 week period and would always get told different things and sent round in circles. One of the tech engineers even told me i should be grateful for my 20mb speeds as in the Philppines they only have 10mb and are grateful for it. I asked him if he was paying for 76mb and only getting 20 would he be happy? He never replied. Over 50 members of the tech support did line tests and said there was no problem with the line. Then eventually 3 of them said there was a problem with the line and that they would need to send an engineer out. They don't work at weekends which means you need to take time off of work, even if the fault is outside of the home. Even then the engineers don't turn up. I told Talk Talk that i cannot take more time off of work for engineers that don't don't turn up and they told me i must have an engineer or they will close my case and basically leave me stranded with bad internet and no solution. They claim the fault is outside of the home so i don't see why i need to be home for them to fix it. A shockingly bad company. Avoid at all costs.

This is the worst company I have ever used for any of their services. The tv signal is so poor that I am paying for channels I cannot receive. Even after purchasing an extra aerial as advised (post contract)
The internet is the slowest I have ever come across and am often going over my data allowance on my mobile devices whilst at home..
I have never been a happy customer with talk talk but they refuse to let me out of my contract without a £200 fee. A complete waste. I wish I had stuck with virgin media. No problem ever with them. Great signal, great tv and great service. Rip on the end of talk talk. Bunch of eeeeejits

Had broadband installed on offer at 17.70 per month including line rental (the main reason I went for them in the first place). This was fine for several months until I was moving home. I had to start a brand new 12 month contract and almost £10 was added on all future monthly bills. I found this quite sneaky and disappointing. Would have been happy to pay a fee for moving, but feel my original contract should have been honoured.

Utterly, utterly, utterly shocking service. Broadband itself ok, but the entire experience around it has been so miserable, with them overcharging me, delaying start dates and losing records of my complaints that I feel angry and helpless. There is no recourse or proper regulator it seems. Truly atrocious.

Unusable internet speed. Couldn't even load a photo. Was told we would have 17mp per second and was receiving 0.3mb per second! Had to speak to 7 people to cancel it and was on the phone for over 2 hours all together. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. And I am still being charged for the usage of services until the cancelation date which is a Months bill for something I am unable to use.
Several friends have also told me that they have had awful problems and customer services too!!

NO STARS! Don't use this company, whatever you do!
I am appalled by how they are treating my mother, given she is 92 and currently in hospital with a broken hip. She has been with the company for many years and recently she finished a contract so they put her immediately on to a full paying bill without ringing her to let her know. They say, as their excuse, that they emailed her to let her know - she's 92 years old - do you think people of that age check and understand their emails?! Yet they were happy to continue charging her nearly 100 pounds a month so she is able to make phone calls to her friends! When we tried to ring the call centre, it took 3 requests to speak to a new supervisor to get a decision that, frankly, wasn't acceptable anyway - but they wore us down. They refused point blank to refund anything despite the fact she's in hospital and may never return home and had no knowledge of her contract running out. In addition, they insisted initially of charging her full fees for a least another month when we said we wanted to cancel her bill - eventually they agreed on "only" one more week of bills, despite the fact she has been in hospital for 3 weeks! My intention is to never pay this company a single penny again as they are thieves. STAY AWAY!

The absolute WORST. It's passable until there's a problem, and then God help you.
I had been with them for two years when a leaflet was dropped through my door advertising fibre optic broadband in the area. Literally the very next day, my broadband speed dropped to slower than dial-up. I tried several smartphones and laptops to test the connection - it took ten minutes for Google to load!
Cue a round of calls, promises of engineer visits (and a charge for an engineer who didn't visit but called me to see if I still wanted him and then cancelled), Kafkaesque telephone conversations with incompetent call centre staff with broken English who made me repeatedly do line tests before telling me there was nothing wrong with the connection, and six weeks of failed engineer visits in the hope of taking them up on their ransom and switching to fibre optic.
After six weeks of this shambolic service, I switched to Virgin Media, nearly wept with relief when a friendly American who wasn't reading from a script picked up the phone at customer service and had fibre optic installed with minimal fuss within two weeks.
The cheeky beggars at TalkTalk attempted to reinstate their direct debit on my account when I told them they could go whistle for any money for a service they failed to provide. I quickly cancelled that. After all, there are no faults on the line. :)

The broadband has slowly deteriorated throughout the contract and become slow and unusable.
On top of this, a month into my contract they put the monthly cost up by £5 which no longer made them the cheapest option but sadly I was tied into a 2 year contact. To add insult to injury they LITERALLY advertise that they wont hike the price mid contract. So that's a lie.
They schedule upgrades in the area but don't bother to tell you in advance so you're just left without internet for 6 hours with no warning.
Ringing them is the biggest waste of time, don't bother. Can't wait till my contact is up, 3 months to go!

I have never dealt with such an awful company. I strongly recommend not to take out services with TalkTalk unless you want a lot of headache or stress. The internet did not work, I had to speak to someone via chat every week, they never stored my notes so I had to constantly repeat myself. One employee actually told me that it was obviously our 4 phones, 2 laptops, TV and other devices that weren't working - not their internet. The speed dropped down to 6mbps which is a breach of contract, but they still tried to charge me £40 for a booster and when I wanted to leave, £150 leaving fee. I was assured this would be dropped after speaking via chat for 2 hours to someone, only to still receive the bill a month later. I have never dealt with a company like this. You can't speak to anyone, it is extremely frustrating. I moved to BT and they have been completely hassle free.
