Sadly I am two months into Utility Warehouse broadband subscription and feeling imprisoned in a network that barely works.Stuck for the next one year with a very unreliable internet.Misled by the reps who told me I wouldn’t pay a cancellation charge if I only give a months notice.Which was totally false when they were trying to sell their package.I run an online Masters program and can’t get through a lecture without protracted interruption, neither can I take my online exams without much worry the connection would break.
Can’t cancel because of the huge cost of cancellation. They get their money monthly and we get extremely poor service.
    This is cheating.

Please avoid this provider at all cost!!!

The only good point about the broadband is the router is thick and weighty - so you can use it to bludgeon the rep that sold you this disgrace.

The broadband, should you manage a connection, is slow. Painfully slow. Possibly contravenes the Geneva Conventions slow. Not to mention it will drop out continuously.

We have now gone through 3 routers (sadly, not through burgeoning) and no significant improvement to connect has occurred. If you are thinking of going with this company, try setting up a brick and connecting to that; it will have the same effect, while also being cheaper and easier to leave in the long run.

was on the phone for 3/4 of an hour, using my Mobil,
Just needed them to test how fast my internet was.
chatting and asking questions only to be told they cannot check at the moment as the machine had broken down, could I ring back tomorrow.
Hopefully it. will be up and running then, forget it I`m switching.

If I could give it 0 I would . Appalling broadband . Worse I've encountered. We can't even get on normal channels through sky . So we are having to use our firestick to watch some telly . But even all the channels on there are not working . Got fed up of reporting it and they say its fine . Can't wait for contract to end .

After having some technical issues with my internet provider, like the first time with out internet for about a week and no phone too,the second time with phone again and the internet speed very low, again for another week, this all in the first 7 months of contract the last thing I wanted is to renew my contract. Now I m moving address so I phone them to transferred my internet into the new address, when things here getting to the end this lady told on the phone that my contract would start again on the transferring date so I said that I was expecting a fee for this but not a renewal, so I told that I would thing about it and would phone her back on the next day to tell her my decision and she said that I had to make a decision straight away or she cut me off, I just said ok do what you like and turned the phone down on her. My question is it legal that your internet provider on a moving address situation demands a renewal even when you not satisfied with the service? Because during those two weeks of having technical issue they got compensation from open reach and me as a customer with out service got nothing. Who defends the customers when they been abused? Please advise

I joined this company after 3 months the monthly payments increased and were not affordable. They blocked me from leaving them even after confirming it in writing to me and each time they found a way to send me a final bill and if I complain they threaten me with county judgements and debt collectors evil company! I can't get rid of them even though I have another supplier.

Was originally with Utility Warehouse for a 12 month contract. Issues from the start, had to fiddle around with router settings to get devices to work (never had to do this with other providers), speeds were very slow probably comparable to dial-up, and the connection would always drop. We phoned UW up to complain and they suggested we take out a Fibre package for an extra £5 a month for an extra 12 months onto the contract. We did so, but things barely improved. The speeds were better, but comparable to very poor broadband, and the connection still drops. Leaving them once the contract ends, should be end of this month. Haven’t got much hope with others saying about added charges.

Absolutely terrible! Words cannot describe the awfulness of this broadband. I am unwilling to play xbox with my friends because the router that was recommended does not give half of the percentages I need to play. All of my friends pay exactly the same for their broadband and they never have problems wether their is 1 or 12 in the house all using wifi. Myself on the other hand, can't play if there is 2-3 people using the broadband. The only time the wifi ever works or even satisfies is when I'm home alone. I can't even watch youtube without my video bufferning for 10 miniutes or so. We've tried fitting ethenet cables from the router to the xbox, which is a very well known way of dealing with poor connection, yet it makes absolutely no difference. I would not recommend this terrible broadband to anyone because it will vener give what other broadbands give. I would recommend any other broadband apart from this one. I will change broadbands ASAP with no hesitation. Terrbible experience with Utility Warehouse broadband.

Dear Utility Wearhouse customer service please understand that people have lots of difficulties to pay bills. Don't ask your client who wants to cancel broadband contract "Don't you have smart TV?" Honestly I don't but don't make me less of a person that I don't. Kind regards

Absolutely woeful service and now holding me to ransom. Im unable to leave my contract without penalty. I pay the premium package that guarantees 29mbs but I receive and average of 10 to 15mbs. When I ring up to complain they just fob me off

Since we have switched the problems have been getting worse and worse. Constant crackle on the phone line which in turn stops the broadband from working. With numerous uncountable calls to tech support and still the problem exists. I wish we had never swapped provider, we are paying good money for old rope and if things dont change rapidly I will stop contract due to the lack of failing to provide even the basic of service.

From beginning the broadband services was excellent but recently I returned the two eero to them still sit in the boxes for one whole year, never been open and been charged for entire time.
I decided to send them back, after UW received them and since then my broadband connection non stop dropping. A very disappointing with their absolute disgusting services.
I will then back to BT which I'm happy to pay for.

Do not buy from this godawful broadband provider, We called them up countless times so they can hopefully fix the slow internet issue but as of right now the internet is still awful. They advised replacing the wifi box however its still terrible. They will throttle your internet connection too, stay far away from this terrible brand.

I have been a Utility Warehouse customer for 9 months now. Since day one I have not been able to use my broadband without it keep dropping out every few minutes. I have contacted them to be told that the router that they use is not as good as the BT one I had before, I need to pay a £40 fee to get a better one and this would have to be another 18 month contract. I did this and the new router made no difference so I sent it back within the 14 days.I have now decided to leaved then and have been told that I need to pay £216. So not only am I paying for the worst service that I have ever had but they are going to extort money from me if I leave. There broad band is worst broadband provider I have ever been unfortunate enough to use.
DO NOT TAKE THERE BROADBAND, IT IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

DO NOT GO WITH UTILITY WAREHOUSE. - Any of these reviews that state it is a good service are clearly not using much internet at all or are made by the companies PR team. I am reading the same issues that I am currently having! Terrible internet that barely gives good speeds, tell you to upgrade to fibre but doesn't do anything whatsoever to change it. Offer you routers and various other bits. THESE DO NOT WORK. I live in a semi detached house and the signal is fine, but the speeds are absolutely shocking. I cannot play a game without 400 ping on a regular basis and it is very rare I get a normal 30. It's a conning scheme most likely for elderly people who just want to 'browse' bbc news or something. Go with another provider!

I wish someone had told me! The reviews are incredibly misleading.

Absolute scandal of a company. Have just left them and they are trying to bill me for another full month of services that I no longer have provision or contract or services for. They have also tried to add a £10 disconnection fee! Absolute scandal, they are child of TalkTalk so no wonder they are a nasty evil provider who do not believe in letting customers leaving and will do anything it takes to grab extra money off you. Best advice - never sign up to them in the first place - thieves and scoundrels.

Unfortunately I have to agree with many of the reviews on here. Had quite an out of date BT router/BT broadband previously, "upgraded" to the best router UW offer. Have never had problems with buffering and low connectivity before. Rely on this to work from home and now have long stretches in the day when I cannot work. Also new "state of the art" router does not get anywhere near as far into house as old "out of date" BT router. Not liking the sound of comments that it's difficult to get away from them. Want to do so ASAP, maybe should have read the smallprint...? By the way, only UW distributor who actually gave whole name on here was Karen Bailey. I'm sure quite a few of the glowing reviews on here are from people who make money out of distribution.

We joined Utility Warehouse in March 2017
Utility Warehouse initially promised us when we switched that we would be connected for broadband service without interruption but we waited to be connected for over a week.
The mobile service that they provided us with does not work in our house or even outside nearby. Their router is of poor quality.
Recently for over a month we could not use our fix phone line or have an internet connexion.
Their technical services, although very polite, during this period fed us with lies, confirmed appointments to fix the problem when no one turned up and so did their local agent (representative) about what was taking so long to fix the problem.
During this month of breakdown of telephone and broadband services we wrote 3 times by means of recorded letter to their Executive Chairman in order to try to extract a date for the reconnection of our service. Our letters remain unanswered to date and no apologies have been forthcoming.
I would recommend strongly to anyone considering switching to Utility Warehouse to abstain.

Honestly the worst wifi experience i’ve ever had, would NEVER recommend to anyone that has a house with more than 1 room as the wifi service won’t reach. Would give no stars if that was possible. My room is on the floor above the router and the wifi connection is extremely poor and whenever I am watching a video, buffering occurs to the point where I have to turn on my own data to access the internet. Appalling when I’m paying for fibre optic wifi. Save your money.

Absolutely shocking company,we have been in a dispute for 7 nearly 8 weeks in regard to our broadband through UW, they have pushed us from one person to another to try to sort this appalling service out we have asked for them to cancel our broadband account and they will not, we cannot watch Netflix which i am still having to pay for, i am having to use my mobile data on my handset to access the internet in my home, they have advised me that i need boosters to support the wifi service i am NOT recieving, then asking md to send the products to them so they can reset them and they should work then, telling me the walls in my home are too thick, telling me my printer which is attached to the pc is affecting the signal, then my neibours wifi is stopping my wifi from working, any excuse but the TRUTH,we are being charged £44 a month for a product i am not recieving, ofcom it is we have been extremely patient, UTILITY WAREHOUSE, you are SHARKS, i will never recommend anyone to your services you only think of the commission you are being rewarded for selling a dreadful service.

I wish to express my disappointment at your company's behaviour and unprofessionalism ever since COVID19.

As a vulnerable female, and single mother, your company made so many mistakes, promises that were completely misleading and took a large sum payment from my account in full knowledge that you failed to support me as a customer during these unfortunate times.

The government in March 2020,thanked energy providers for keeping services running, supporting the national need to stay at home, but I have say with hugh regret that after being a loyal customer of utility wear house for over 15 year, at my hour of need, you failed me.

Today Utility Warehouse took a huge amount of over £450, leaving me unable to pay direct debits, despite making promises that I was a fixed payment plan on the 1st April of £150, when given a meter reading, in full knowledge that I I have been working from home for the last 8 weeks, advised that I had used more energy than expected and so had pay additional charges, in full knowledge that I have always paid over £200 per month for last 10 years.

    Now I have no
funds to pay towards direct debit due on the 30th May and have been charged by my bank for defaults.

I will be reporting your behaviour to the energy complaints ombudsmen and will send out a message to consumers never to contract with Utility Warehouse as you are unashamedly unprecedentedly unprofessional.

Joined utility warehouse and was promised lower monthly payments and quality internet connection
    What a pack of lies.
The internet connection never works, unexpected bills and impossible to leave them.
They are crooks and shouldn’t be allowed to con the public in this way, I could kilck myself for not reading any reviews before as all of them are negative!
When I questioned why my internet had been down for over 5 days their explanation was that the router wouldn’t work if there was metal objects in the home such as a microwave or filing cabinet !
Surely with all of these poor reviews something has to be done ?
    I welcome any advice please.

Awful. Avoid at all costs. If there was a zero rating I'd have used it, hence 1 star

Very poor customer satisfaction regarding broadband speed and making OpenReachBT step up their rollout of Fibre to premises.

As a 16 year old you can imagine that I love my internet, when my mum told me we were changing broadband providers I wasn't too over the moon as we would be without internet for nearly two weeks. However, even with being with Utility Warehouse, you may as well have no internet because half the bloody time it doesn't work!! And when you do ring up about the problem, the customer service is a bag of balls too! we went a whole month without internet once after telling us it would take only THREE days to sort out. If you're planning on changing to Utility Warehouse, save yourself the hassle and don't.

Connection is rubbish. I cannot even do the speed test because it times out. Waste of money. I am leaving this as soon as possible. Anyone reading this I suggest NEVER join this company. Absolute Scam!

Can't comment on broadband speed or reliability, because Utility Warehouse won't actually come out and install broadband. They promise to come, we wait in all day, but nobody comes. This keeps happening and I'm sick of sitting on the phone on hold for literally HOURS. Customer reps promise faithfully that somebody is coming, not their fault as I'm sure my booking pops up on their screen. Why can't I have broadband installed? Why wont anybody come? Why don't they at least have the common courtesy to call and let us know that nobody is bothering to come today so we can get on with our lives? Do they actually exist - ah, yes they do because they're taking monthly money for a non existent service. Been trying for almost 2 months to get it set up.
If you're reading these reviews because you're considering Utility Warehouse, AVOID AVOID AVOID, THEY ARE LESS THAN USELESS.

You would advise to stay away from this provider.
I had different problems with the,
Broadband: it doesn't work well, hardly had any signal, kept disconnecting, even when right next to it
Cancelling is a nightmare, they make it so difficult. They will try everything they can to stop it. Apparently they are going to chrage me £31 for cancellation, which I had never read anywhere. But i will pay, I just want to leave
Move team: I moved and they forgot to follow the utilities, they kept sending me threatening letters to new occupier even though i contacted them to say it was me. And after 5 months, they finally corrected their mistake and i had a huge bill.
Bulb replacement scam: I thought it was a good idea, someone came and said they couldn't fit bulbs so they left a box of bulbs that fitted nowhere in my house. I had to dispose of it. Then they used it to say that i couldn't cancel the broadband because they deposited a box of bulbs 2 years ago.

    The communication is hard.
I have talked to some nice people trying to help me, they obviously haven't chosen to work there, we all need to work.

I regret having joined. I thought it would be easier to have less providers. It was a good idea, if they were professional and more agile.
