I've been a customer of TalkTalk for a number of years January this year my contract expired and they carried on taking £60 a month from me my contract was for 35 when I inquired about being over charged I was offered £20 in compensation TalkTalk or a company who do not care about their customers they're only in it for the money I have no change my provider to Skye who have been very good to me I would suggest anyone thinking on joining TalkTalk to think again their offices when you make enquiries or somewhere abroad you cannot speak to anyone in England TalkTalk should be ashamed of their selves when they are after to money from their customers there soon texting you for money but when they could offer you better deals they don't bother I was quite shocked when I found out I have been overcharged buy 6 month I paid by direct debit and never give is a thot they would rip me off like I have said beware of TalkTalk they pass all complaints on to someone then you speak to that one I then pass you on to someone else please please please do not sign up with TalkTalk by doing this you cannot say you've not been warned.

Three weeks ago the wire on the outside become frayed hence I have no broadband I've been on the phone nearly every day for a solid two weeks firstly the customer service department are rude and arrogant they don't listen to round in circles and are always seem to be happy in trying to get me to leave TalkTalk anyway I've wasted over four days waiting in for a no show engineer then I get told I'll get a phone call of engineer and I don't then they say engineer has phoned and been whilst I'm waiting at my residence to which my doorcam says otherwise plus my phone records have no record so they also consistently lie and they always apologize and say it's there mistake. I'm still waiting it's three weeks and I still have No broadband ironically they take the bill out of my account for services I have not got. On top of all this the staff consistently got my name wrong even when put right and one lady says her mother has same illness I have that's why she apparently understands and went onto say her mother didn't need broadband which is completely irrelevant very very rude. It's a shame because up until this I was very happy with TalkTalk now I'm not and I may take legal action now especially as I record all calls!!

Appalling. If left to them and their supposed technical support team they couldn't make two Baked Bean Cans and a piece of string work

    Very dissatisfied with talktalk.
Everything is wrong with this company.
From broadband connection, speed, customer service.
    Nothing is up to standard.
Worst thing is that you are not allowed to upgrade mid contract to a faster broadband speed. The offers for New customer are not available to existing customers.
Once you get a contract, you are stuck in that contract.
When the internet keeps slowing, you call customer service agent, you are connected to someone sitting in India, where it becomes impossible you get yourself understand. They go back and forth to ask every single question to their manager, and you end up losing 30/40 minutes on the phone, without getting anywhere.internet speed is very inconsistent.
So overall everything is just a mess..... very poor.

Terrible internet provider & will never use Talk Talk again.

Decided to give them a go due to a cheaper tv package which included sports compared to other providers. Won’t again though!

At start of contract it wasn’t too bad but as time progressed the internet was so intermittent and more off than on. Took me a life time to get in touch with customer services who said they won’t replace the router as it’s the latest one.

If you do decide to switch to Talk Talk, you’ll pay for a service that you don’t actually get! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Quite possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with.
Their tech is flawed they have very few people who can answer a question and then put you on hold while they get a translator.
Their credit card system fails regularly and they lose your records from one person to the other (on the same call)
Never call back, don’t fix problems and they cause you problems when you switch provider.
Do not use this company I never wright reviews but I am writing this one!

I wished there was an option to give 0 stars!
I signed up to TalkTalk in October 2015 (phone, broadband & tv package). On connection we found our broadband speeds were very low (1.5mb) so I called TalkTalk (overseas call centre) on two occasions to upgrade to fibre broadband. I was assured that I could get fibre broadband and was promised on both occasions that someone would call me back to complete the upgrade but no one did. On my third call I was told that I could not get fibre in my location. I informed them that I was not happy and that I wanted to cancel as I was still within their cancellation period. Their advisor suggested I speak to their engineering team to see if they could improve the broadband speed and foolishly I agreed to give them the opportunity to put things right. I was promised a call back but yet again it never materialised. I called again the following day to cancel, only to be told that I was now out of their cancellation period and so there would be a charge. I was then transferred between several advisors and continually put on hold. Eventually I was put through to someone in their UK centre who was generally rude and arrogant. In total I was kept on the phone for over 1 hour, after which I was left feeling extremely angry and frustrated with my whole TalkTalk experience. I then signed up to BT but to make matters worse, TalkTalk then disconnected my services a week early leaving me with no phone and broadband and they even refused my transfer saying that I had given them my wrong post code! Fortunately BT sorted things out for me. I would not use TalkTalk if they offered to provide their services free of charge and would strongly recommend avoiding them at all costs!

I think everybody has said it before, the broadband is useless, keeps getting slower and cutting out for no reason, you ring to sort it out and it works. Well for a few days anyway then the cycle starts again. I'd been with them at 2 consecutive houses, for 3 years, yet they still want to charge a cancellation fee of £100!! Will I pay? What do you think!

Been with them for the last 6 month and nothing but trouble. Nobody cares. Internet it's mega sloe, keeps dropping and cuts you out so that you have to reset the box several times a day. We only use it evenings and weekends. And we are only 2 ppl using the WiFi with phones or tablets. But really, really slow and terrible. Customer service is so unhelpful and couldn't care less. Have to chase to get a call back.
I try to get out the contract .. Fingers crossed.

Dp not sign up to them. Waste of money and time!!!!!!

Diabolical customer service. I’d been with talktalk for over 10 years when overnight literally thousands of my emails disappeared into thin air. After hours of torturous exchanges with various staff and being escalated to the highest level, the answer was basically tough luck. You don’t own the email even though you can’t take it with you, and your data isn’t protected. So good luck everyone if your unfortunate enough to be involved with them. You’ll need it!

Sly, Sly, Sly. I'm on a very low income yet you need the internet to function in this day and age. I signed up for an 18 month contract at £22 per month. Low and behold 3 months into the contract the monthly fee has risen to £24.50. According to Talktalk i was informed via email of the price increase however i genuinely can not remember seeing it but that proves nothing. I also confess that i did not look at the whole terms and conditions and now i can't be bothered to because according to them i am tied in to the end of the contract and should i leave i will be charged approx £10 per month for every month my contract still has to run. When you see a price linked with a term length you expect (or at least poor fool me did) the conditions to remain the same such as a 12 month fixed term with British Gas or E.O.N..... Not with this lot. (just look at their offer on uswitch. it looks decent, at first glance) I will see out my contract or i will be billed over £130 for nothing but when it's up i'm gone, NEVER TO RETURN.

Shocking in every department. All customer services are based in the far east so they can save money, at the expense of anything ever being resolved satisfactorily, due to communication problems with advisers that do not understand what you are trying to explain to them.

The ineptitude of talktalk defies belief. How do they stay in business?? I tried to log on this am and had a message that the internal server could not connect as is had an error, accompanied with pages of gobbly gook! I had my bank account hacked after the last cyber attack, thank you talktalk.
I have changed my carrier to a reliable one now and talk talk can shove their non service where the sun does not shine. I only contact my old web address just in case the odd email is sent to them and not my new carrier. If you get into a call with talktalk their operatives are hard to understand if at all possible. GOOD RIDDANCE TALK TALK, WELL DONE ALL THE LOONIES THAT STAY WITH YOU. THEY DESERVE ALL THE PUNISHMENT THEY GET.

If I could put a minus score, I would. There is nothing positive that I can say about Talk Talk, every time I have contacted them, you get apology after apology, for what is wrong; but as I have told them, apologies do not fix the problem and over two months of hundreds of apologies and language I have trouble understanding; I still have the same problem. I have had tech support staff who couldn’t find my account, customer service staff who don’t care, tech Managers who simply don’t know what they are doing. I did manage to speak with two of their staff, who were very good and should not be working for them, as they are too good for the shoddy service the company provides. I don’t normally stay with such poor companies for this long, but the nice English lady in customer services and the very nice Indian chap in tech services; have given me the drive to try and make Talk Talk sort themselves out.

I left a review a short while ago, and my opinion of Talk Talk is worse now than then. We should be able to put minus scores.
Not only is my broadband very intermittent, it completely disappears when you try to use the phone, but my phone does not work either.
Their answer; you’ll have to wait until an engineer gets to you. We’ve had two engineers out already; one stating the problem was somewhere underground not far from the house, the other said it was our router. I’m on my third new router, still no change. Time to move to a decent company, Do Not use Talk Talk,!!!!

Conned into switchng from Tiscali deal when Talk Talk bought them out by promise of 20Mbs speed to justify price increase to £22.40 pm. Speed now reduced to 6.3 Mbps and Talk Talk pathetic as have never responded to written complaint of months ago.

i too am a very unhappy disgrunted soon to be ex-customer of talktalk. i've told them i'll see them in court as they want me to pay the years line rental although it will be turned off on 12th november 2016. i took the contract out beginning of september and they couldn't get it done for 28 days. went live on 3rd october and started complaining shortly after. for over 5 days i had no landline or internet service. this was a contract that said i would get unlimited broadband and whilst at peak times it may be slow, nowhere in the contract did it say it would be non-existant!!! i've spent over 4 and a half hours on the phone (freephone number thank gawd!) and talktalk only have evidence of 1 of them! truly amazing. apparently you are only allowed to cancel within 20 days - day 1 starts from the day you sign up so the fact it took them 28 days to turn it on and it started going shortly after means i am out of "cancellation contract" - the last straw was on 25th october my mother who lived with us took a turn for the worse - with no landline available nor internet my husband had to drive to the doctors to get him to come out to her. she died the next day and the doctor had told us that he had tried phoning but couldn't get through and when the landline did come back on a few days later i heard his message on their voicemail system which i was not aware of. technical help at talktalk india is not technical. even the bloke from the uk i've screamed at and he want another 15 days to sort this out? WHAT?????? my mother died and we couldn't get help! i've involved the ombudsman now. if talktalks staff consist of a person in india reading off a scripted page on the pc for less than minimum wage then that does NOT constitute "technical help" - i could go on with the other problems i had but i think the whole thing stinks! even to the fact they wanted to charge me £65.00 for an engineer to come out when once back on line (and even with THIS message i am typing the compuer has lost signal TWICE!!!) found out that the continual beeping noise on the landline is your voicemail box? what the ???? i never even asked for that nor was told about it! bloody useless and i will have my day in court if they push me! truly dreadful!!!

Had a lot of problems with reliability after they upgraded to ADSL2+ that were only resolved by 2nd line support after 3 weeks. But £4.04 a month is cheaper than any other provider and 13 Mbps is more than enough download speed so I ain't moving until somebody undercuts them

Absolutely the worst service provider I have ever dealt with. We decided to change to Talk Talk from Sky, received the router then was told it'll take weeks for it to be connected. We decided to change our minds and went back to Sky at which Talk Talk decided to charge us 56.50 for a service that we never used. We phoned Talk Talk to discuss the situation just to be patronised for an hour by a vile person an the "Helpline".This firm should be shut down by the ombudsman as they are conning people.

As we all know, TT were themselves hacked and customer details were passed around criminal gangs. I had a substantial financial loss as a consequence and the criminals keep on calling me - sometimes 8 times a day. Barring calls made by withheld numbers has no effect. The police say that I must change both my number and ISP, but TT insists on imposing a hefty cancellation charge if I leave. They ignore my complaints, or respond to points other than those I have made. Words simply cannot express how I feel about this company.

I have spent an incredible amount of time trying to get my problem sorted out. The issue i have is the broadband cutting off each time the landline is used and the general poor quality of the broadband when it is available. This has been a continued problem for 6 months , 2 engineers multitude of calls to patronising technical staff who have all made failed promises to improve service.
Yesterday summed whole company up. called to cancel contract spoke for 10mins with someone trying to keep me with TT after this they told me they could not cancel contract it had to be a manager ..put on hold waited 20 mins and then disconnected. TT manager rang back spoke for further 15 m trying to keep me with TT with endless promises advising me that compensation can only be given when problem resolved. When i said i had not changed my mind TT MANAGER SAID HE COULD NOT CANCEL it had to be contracts dept on hold for further 15m disconnected .During time on phone wirfi disconnected.
Not prepared to waste anymore time with this company who had the nerve to say that i would have to pay a fee to cancel contract, even though the for last 5 months they have failed to honour contract.
Simple solution for me which i should have done ages ago is to cancel direct debit and wait for TT to take any further action which i shall obviously defend.

Worse company i have ever had dealings with.

I never leave reviews, but I felt I had to warn people at just how bad a company talktalk is. Having had very poor internet connection since moving to them I was constantly having to ring up a high premium number to get the problem fixed. After months of complaint an appointment was made for an engineer to come and check my line. With warning that I had to be in for the appointed time for the engineer to visit or I would face a £65 fine I booked the day off work only for no engineer to turn up. When I called to complain i was told to make another appointment which I was annoyed about. When I explained to the manager that not only am I paying £33 a month for a service I can not use, I also now have to lose another days pay because of their mistake bring my lose of earns to £60 and that talktalk would be costing me nearly a hundred pound even though I am unable to use it. He offered me £10 inconvenient payment. When I brought up the fact that if I was not home for the engineer I would be fined £65 he just simply apologised and agreed that it was unfair. Even though they say the problem is fixed I can still only run two items from wifi before it struggles and slowes down to a crawl.

I have never experienced worse customer service worse than TalkTalk. FULL STOP.

1 hour on the phone only to be cut off, 2 hours on web chat only to be eventually transferred (ignored), they just wait for you to give up and leave as they can not be bothered to sort your issue out, I simply wanted to amend a new order (A NEW CUSTOMER!!!). I then got to the point that I wanted to cancel the order as the drone simply came back with constant irrelevant questions and at every point, I have to wait for 5, 10, or 20 + min for a single reply.

    Avoid at all costs!

Asked about faster fibre. Was offered a 24month contract for £26.50/month despite their ads offering 18month contracts for £25. After 3 hours on a chat line where the person was unable to confirm whether 999 was a free number, they agreed to £25 for 18 months. No other costs were mentioned. 'No hidden costs' says their front page. My account update arrived... 'One off charges £50 set up fee' DISHONEST is the only word I'm allowed to use here...

No problem with the broadband for me but the customer service is unbelievably bad. I need to cancel because I’m moving house. Multiple calls , waiting, on hold, cut off, service staff who can barely speak English.
They’ve just lost my business for the next move.

Firstly the customer service is attrocious. Not only do you struggle to understand Indian call center, but, at the end of each call if you are unhappy they ask would you like to raise a complaint. Complaints are dealt with terribly in which they leaders who deal with them don't know protocol but follow profit motives. The internet speed on fibre was a step up and can be really quick, however, it is very unstable and often drops to as low as 4-5mbps. And in a house watching multiple things is dreadful. The routers suck which options on the routers website is poor. Talktalk quite clearly slow peoples internet speed at peaktimes, sometimes so significantly it's ludicrous.

Bunch of thieves, avoid this company at all costs. On top of this especially avoid it's relation companies: AOL, Tiscali etc etc...

Spend more money for someone like Sky or Virgin, don't bother with these slightly cheaper but thieving firm.

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. Shocking customer service and they truly could not care less. Tried to join and they cancelled my activation date 3 times without telling me. It was only when I would call to chase it up that they would let me know and then claim 'technical difficulties'. They have never been able to tell me what these technical difficulties are. At this point I have been without internet and a phone line for 2 weeks and I am now looking at another 2 weeks before I get anywhere. I run a business from home and this has cost me hundreds of pounds. I am beyond disgusted.

Have just tried to cancel Broadband again. Was told months ago that I would have fibre within a few weeks. Have little idea what I was just told as I could not understand but basically, I will not be getting faster access. Was told that I neede to talk to "Technical Help" tried to butt in and say that all I wanted to do was to leave Talk Talk but wasting time -
Just want to leave but cannot face another hour wait

Been lucky with reliability but not happy with speed or customer service. I hate using their email platform. Very often I can't load the emails and they always seem to be undertaking maintenance. They don't give a stuff about customer service or evidently customers private data. As soon as my current contract is up I'm gone never to return. Advice to anyone considering TalkTalk....well I think you get the drift!

As far as I am concerned, the overall broadband experience from Talk Talk was no better or worse than any other provider, but what sets them apart is absolutely shocking customer service.
I looked to move, called CS and they opened a case to see if they could provide... wait a call back. They call off a 0800 number to the number you logged (after going through security) and ask you to go through security questions. Yes they advise a call is due in a window, but I will never answer a security question on an inbound call. You then get a text saying you were ‘unavailable’ and they will try again. Same drill.
You call them back answer security and get told ‘we’ll log a case’! Finally get through to find out they can’t supply to new address (had already moved) so I have to terminate, pay early leave fee (understand) pay notice (understand) but not from the date of the original call (miffed) and also I am liable for any costs incurred in the next 30 days !!
Oh yes and with various lengthy holds that was 50 minutes of my life I’ll not get back.
Talk Talk their CS can do, but satisfaction from a call ??

    Avoid them is my advice
