I have been with Talk Talk for years and would expect a prompt customer loyalty service but NO!I struggling financially and had to call to cut down some of my package add ons to have an affordable bill. I opted to pay for the £4.50 admin fee monthly so as to avoid the direct debit charges if the payment does not go through. I found out Talk talk suddenly added a £10 fee they dubbed'late payment fee'. My bill is now higher than what is should be and I cannot even afford the payments when due so I am stuck in a rat race of £10 extra to my bill every month. I have made several calls to get that charge removed but no headway made.I am being tossed from one service desks in India to Indonesia help desks. I am absolutely livid with rage.

NOTE TO ALL. BEWARE!! WHEN DOING A BROADBAND SEARCH VIA TALK TALK'S WEBSITE!! ** DO NOT PUT IN YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER OR YOU WILL BOMBARDED WITH PERSISTENT SALES CALLS.** Luckily I'm not a talk talk customer & never will be after my resent experience with them. All I did was make a broadband fiber search on they're website. I came home to 8 missed sales calls from they're sales team who tried to say that I had rung them and they were only returning my call.?!?!..recorded messages stating they would re-contact me. (seemed desperate for any business they could drum up) I requested they remove my number from they're files and stated that I wanted to raise a complaint through they're complaints procedure, they stated that I couldn't as I wasn't a customer of theirs & left me on hold with they're foreign complaints team for over 40 minutes!!! Thankfully after speaking to a very pleasant, knowledgeable & helpful member of this websites Broadband.co.uk who told me the searches only needed postcodes, & gave me details of the Telephone preference service also recommended I use the samknows website (as broadband fiber is not available and CANNOT be supplied to my property by ANY PROVIDER YET) I will not be making the same mistake again by internet shopping around for better broadband deals or.. more importantly, entering my landline number (which I never normally do) on to any other website in future. Next stop..Uswitch comparison forum, Martin Lewis money expert forum, and any other forum...etc.etc..& the telephone preference services to stop these businesses making sneaky nuisance sales calls when only an inquiry is made. I hasten to add that I also did searches through BT, EE, Virgin and Sky, and haven't received any sales call from any of them, but also didn't the valuable advise about checking the samknows website either. Thank Broadband.co.uk, I know now to check Samknows website first, which shows who CAN supply Broadband & Broadband fiber optic to my property, instead of wasting my time shopping around and being sold deals I don't need, want or require:-00

AVOID THIS COMPANY.
I requested to cancel my account online in August due to moving out. I work Monday to Friday, so calling is extremely difficult. I paid what they said was an early fee. I received an email the following month saying I owed another month. I tried calling them up whilst taking the time of work to do, I was passed over the 3 different departments and had to explain exactly the same 3x over!! to the point they hung up on. No one explained any information about any other payments... I called up again in October explaining I am still in debt to them!! I ended up paying over £70, and exhaggerated i wanted my details removed from the system and the account closed as this was getting ridiculous and i havent lived in the property for 2 months. By the time I got the payment I still tried disputing any of these payments considering no Broadband was used between these months. Again, the laziness and unhelpfulness of the staff just kept passing my call to department after department. When I made the payment, I specifically asked the guy on the phone before making it, if my details will be removed, my account will be closed and me not receiving any further emails from them!! His reply was yes. Until today another month later, another email saying I owe a month bill! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I had to take further time off work, ONCE AGAIN explaining what has now happened and AGAIN being passed over department to department. I finally got to someone which has basically tried to state it was my fault and I now have to pay this month off and also pay off another cancelation fee and also pay for a month in advance!! I told her to listen to the call from when I paid, to the point she was getting herself confused as her associates had written different notes down! She then stated they had to listen to the call and determine who's at fault! She got extremely funny when I then asked for the copy of the recording so that they can say they listened and pin my liable! It's absolutely disgusting this customer service and Talk Talk as a company! The whole thing seems like 1x giant scam, I have never missed a payment with them or behind. The internet and connection were average. When i explained when she was trying to blame me for this, she said "well these customers that leaves the reviews don't understand out policies and are upset because they need to pay!!!!" I said to her, when the reviews are exactly the same as my complaint... and your own staff members don't have a clue what they are offering, selling or writing notes and even said yourself you're confused, what does the tell you?! THE ABSOLUTE CHEEK. after putting me on hold and 2hrs later... I was hung up on!! Now what?! So baffled that a company like this has not been investigated into and things have been taken further. They will not take another payment off me for their own mistakes!! As for taking me details off their system after I paid this bill, and they didn't... that's another concern in itself!!

Such terrible customer service. I cancelled my order in March due to poor service. However, I tried switching again to a new provider in November and they have left a historic problem on the Openreach system meaning I can't switch and am stuck with my current provider. Talktalk simply say I have to talk to my new provider. They say the opposite. Raised a formal complaint. No result. Absolutely disgraceful and I am trying to Get Openreach and Ofcom to deal with it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Talk talk is the worst broadband you will ever buy.I live close to London in a suburban area and I got 5 mb download speeds compared to my 39mb with BT . their customer service is terrible . my dad tried to cancel our contract with them but it took him an hour because the people started begging him not to leave and them started throwing rubbish offers at us . we had finished out 12 month contract but we were fined £200 as a cancellation charge

Terrible coverage, terrible customer service, and absolutely no concept of data protection. They don't have a clue about the latter and for that I would say new customers should be running scared.
There are many other, much better, providers you can go with. Because of talk talk i have and will be without an internet connection in my home for an entire month.
Avoid.

From the start Talktalk have been amazing and I have have never had such a great service from a telecommunications company. They kept me upto date by text and email every step of the way. Now they have cancelled my EE service and I'm 8 days in my Talktalk which includes fibre, landline calls and a sim card. Straight out of the box it ran 26mb/s but after a week of them tweaking it I am now running 37mb/s. I'm so pleased I changed to Talktalk they have been perfect and the services and speeds are great. I will be staying with them and I've never been happier.

[indian] call centre is atrocious. Incapable of understanding the most basic information [such as that i am not at the place where the line fault is at this moment] yet spouting telecom-jargon that i can't understand!! Rigid following of their 'script' means pauses long enough to suspect they've gone away to brew a cup of tea... roaund a nd round you go....

I'll keep it short and sweet. I get at least one connection drop out every day, usually more. The firmware on my router is years out of date and after hours of trying to get it updated over several months, I'm still stuck on the old version. Their tech support in my experience is always either not experienced or overly evasive. Constantly asking me to post my problems on the public forum for the world to see. No thanks. That is not what I pay you for! Whenever I did manage to talk to someone "technical" I practically had to explain to them what firmware was. I'd give higher ratings for the decent speed, if it worked for 24 hours without failing!
Avoid at all costs people! The rumours are true and I wish I'd listened. The higher upload speed was not worth this.

USELESS BUNCH OF CLOWNS, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I've been promised a speed they cannot deliver, but it just keeps going round in circles. Every time I speak to customer services it just becomes a frustrating conversation that goes no where as every operator I've spoken to does not speak English as their first language and refuse to put you through to a UK operator. I'm sure Talktalk have done this on purpose to frustrate you into giving up. They say they have booked engineers to visit and sort the problem who don't then turn up. Every time I wait in for an engineer its half a days money I'm losing but they wont refund that! I tried to cancel but they said I have to give them 28 days to resolve the problem or they'll charge me. Just a horrible frustrating company to deal with, I have no idea how they are staying in business. PLEASE AVOID

I took talktalk internet out. The took a week after my contract started to find out the line was dead. They still took money out, they took money out after my contract ended and I am still chasing them for my money. Talktalk seem more interested at closing complaints than solving them. Utterly the worst company I have ever dealt with and will advise anyone to pay the extra money and go else where to avoid the stress

We have had TalkTalk fibre line for almost 2 years. it has been the absolutely worst service I have EVER used. We have never had consistent connection speed. we've experienced repeated deterioration in service quality. Each time it gets addressed the problems come back within a few weeks. The customer services appear to be set up to actually prevent operatives from meeting customer needs and they never call back when promised. compensation offered is actually insulting (e.g. offered me £12 for 31 day interruption in service while informing me in same sentence that my monthly bill is £25 - WTFH!)
I can not wait to leave Talk Talk.

I signed up for fibre broadband with TalkTalk recently. It was due to go live 2 weeks ago and so far I have just a useless router in my home and no service. I have spoken to talk talk almost daily during this time. I have had 4 visits from BT openreach engineers all of who told me that the problem was with Talktalk and nto wiht the network. I have been provided with no information from talktalk. I have never been called back when promised. They still appear to have no idea when the service will go live. I have spent several hours of my time in fruitless discussion with talktalk staff. The incompetnce of this company is mindboggling! I will never use them again. I would wanr others away from them too.

TalkTalk is driving me to the point of insanity. At least 3 times every hour my internet cuts out for, on average 7 mins.
Customer service is no help either. resonantly I was told change routers, that did nothing. Then it was change the filter, that cut my phone line. And many times I've been told to turn the router off and on. seriously TalkTalk your tech support told me to turn it off and on again. Hey and guess what that did nothing.
Currently my average speed is 50kb/s when my promised is 14mb/s. TalkTalk you played me like you played everyone else. you got me good internet for 5 months then you started to slow down until now when you can barely connect. And you make your money by making everyone hate you and then pay that cancellation fee. Well screw you TalkTalk you don't get that from me cuz I'm stubborn and I'm waiting 2 more months til our contract is over. See you in hell TalkTalk I'm going to BT

Utterly appalling. I was duped into using talktalk as their broadband deals were at the time very good. However! It has been nothing but hell since then. Talktalk took over 5 months to return credit on my account! Their customer service is awful. Bunch of idiots that don't understand anything unless it's on a script in front them. Do not use them in any instance. Even if they pay you, do not use them! Horrendous experience and by far the worst broadband provider I have used, ever!

If you have reliable broadband, keep it, do not join Talktalk, Internet connection stops, starts, stops, starts and then stops for 2days,spend an hour to Talktalk India who say no fault on line, engineer changed adsl socket, fixed for a week now back to no connection, connected, not connected same recurring problem etc, this with a wired connection and speed halved. Cannot shop online as Internet will cut out at any point. Just awful
Please don't join a Talktalk contract.

When it works, it's fine, but that's a huge WHEN (and very limited). Most of the time speeds are trickling along below 10Mbps download, and often at 0.2Mbps download. It is only when I'm dry-humping the router, or alternatively sat on the support chat, that speeds surpass the contracted agreement. One reason given by support is that I have over 5 devices connected (most of which are idle e.g. Alexa) - are they serious given the average home probably has at least 4 mobile devices before even considering any home-linked devices (security, TV, smart devices, etc.)? I can't wait to leave this terrible service.

I have never regretted any decision in my life as much as signing up for talktalk without visiting this site first.
Even if I had visited this site I may have dismissed it as a case of bad press and continued on regardless.
However, I can honestly say one thing that amazes me about this service, it isn't classed as a natural wonder of the world. The team at talk talk put glaciers to shame on how fast they act.
The amount of initiative available at any given time in their call centres equates to the approximate amount of certainty in Schrodingers Cat.
I am actively discouraging anyone I talk to to avoid using this ISP.
They trick you into staying with them past the cooling off period by telling you that you may experience unstable connection whilst they "throttle" the internet speed and "optimise" your service.
Little did I know that this was in fact a novel feature that TalkTalk have included as standard. It's a preventative measure to ensure that you give up on streaming any content from youtube in a bid to keep you more active and raise your resting heart rate.
When they state that their broadband is "unlimited" they actually mean that they control the amount of data used by "optimising" your internet speed on a routine basis causing instant drop outs of all data.
The only thing you should know before signing up to this company is the cancellation fee, for me that is £10/month remaining on contract.
It's going to be the best £90 I've spent this year.

I've had speed issues with talktalk broadband for the past 2 months. Every time I call the support number one of the following things happen:
1- they can't solve the issue, hence hang the phone up.
2- they say they're a manager and will solve the issue, but they don't at the end.
3- they send a talktalk engineer over, who is more useless that the phone support.
4- they send BTOpenReach engineer, who says nothing is wrong.
5- the above cycle gets repeated two to three times.
6- you want to make a complaint, but then there is no one more senior than the technical manager, hence he reports the complaints on the system and no one will call you back.
7- you get so frustrated that you want to cancel the contract, but they don't allow you.
8 - your contract runs out, then talktalk sales people keep calling you to make sure you sign another 18 months contract with them.

I have had a big problem with spam. I contacted TT and eventually I was past on to someone in the ceo office. This person emailed me and said she had tried to contact me but when I checked the phone there were no calls or messages that day. Her email was timed at 12.45 pm when I had asked to be contacted after 1pm. She left a number for me to contact her and I left messages and tried the number a few times and always got the answer phone but no one ever rings back. I did receive a half hearted email apologising for the delay but two weeks on I haven't yet spoken to the woman. So much for customer service.

Worst ISP in existence. I have recently used talktalk as my ISP. I pay for their fastest package, get less than half the advertised speed using their equipment and a wired connection to the router. In addition, my internet service drops for around 30 minutes at a time numerous times daily. Customer support is useless and just wastes your time putting you on hold for a disgusting length of time and when you do finally speak to somebody, they do nothing to help. I will be canceling my service ASAP!

Motivated to leave this review because of the appalling deceit I had to suffer at the hands of a string of customer service call handlers and managers. Simply trying to end contract and allow new home owners to take over line after handling the Estate of my deceased parents. All I got were lies about inabilities to do this or that, then attempts to re-sell the contract to me. They could hear how upset and exasperated I was in dealing with them and they knew I was dealing with the recent death of my parent. I can only guess that call centre staff are set immoral and unachievable targets making it costly for them to listen to what a bereaved customer actually needs. AVOID THIS IMMORAL OUTFIT.

Talk Talk was voted the worst provider in Which magazine and quite rightly. They are complete useless. I had an email telling me they had upgraded their system and my email hadn’t worked since. If you could provide 0 stars I would have done so. What an organisation you agree to a new contract they don't deliver on it and then move you to a fall back rate without advising you. When you subsequently write to them they seem uncapable of reading the content of your correspondence and actually responding to your queries. I then tried writing to their CEO and the letter was answered again by the same individual who again didn't answer my queries but asked me call them only to have my call rejected as I am no longer a customer given I moved to another service provider.
Now writing to the regulator as it's a otal waste of time dealing with them when they fail to honour contract terms funny thing is they want to punish customers with penalties if they don't stick to the terms of their contract.
STAY WELL CLEAR

TalkTalk customer service is unable to resolve customer issues.
Our internet was due to go live on 18th. The OpenReach team couldn't activate the line on that day, and TalkTalk then failed to reorganize an appointment.
Subsequently:
— We had 3 cancelled engineer appointments, none of which TalkTalk alerted us to;
— We issued 2 call-back customer complaint requests, to which TalkTalk never responded.
We even had our complaint escalated to CEO level.
As per TalkTalk's complaints process, the CEO department commits to respond to CEO complaints within 5 working days.
It's been 10 working days, we haven't heard a thing (we only get to speak to them if we call them and wait on hold for at least 45 minutes a time).
To make matters worse, TalkTalk cancelled our account without contacting us first, which cancelled a pending engineer visit.
The company then charged us £50 for a service we did not have access to — and they now say they cannot issue a refund until 10 days have passed.
What's perhaps the most infuriating aspect is that TalkTalk only based its sales agents in the UK (despite being a UK & IRE company).
The second you need actual support, you will have to speak to agents located in South Africa, the Philippines, or elsewhere, so it's no wonder there's so much inefficiency and breakdown in the whole customer service process.
If you use TalkTalk and never need support, they're fine (we had an old connection, we never had an issue, all was good).
If ever you need customer support to help you, please help yourself by finding a new broadband provider.

When we first got the wifi, it wasn't bad, for about two months. After that though, the speed went down and it is really slow, unreliable and the service is bad. I recommend you to make your product faster because right now it is impossible to do anything with it and i would rather use data from my phone.
