The broadband provided by Talktalk has always be slow and the technical support you receive during your contract is poor to say the least. But once you try to change providers. The service will suddenly be come non-existence and they will try to blame whoever you are changing to , even though you are still under contract to them and paying for faster broadband. I would not recommend Talktalk to anyone

I ordered Future Fibre on 6 April, initially it said 16 days to install, but when I completed my order I was told it would be installed on 3 May. Not as good as hoped but OK, I confirmed the contract.

Got on today 25 April to confirm the install date only to be told TalkTalk had cancelled my order, with no notification! This is after I had agreed to cancel my existing broadband as they are unable to switch from your current provider. When I asked why I was told "One of the reason why it's cancelled is that the system itself wasn't able to complete capturing additional date as this is very needed for tight security for the safety of our customers account and for us too." Erm, OK? The chat operative (Paul) proceeded to provided various other spurious techno waffle to try to get me to give up, before eventually saying "Thank you for patiently waiting, Barry! Upon thoroughly checking your account here regarding this matter, our resources here in chat is limited to answer this query however our customer service can definitely answer this query." and finally "For now, I can't access for your myaccount since there's a system maintenance at the moment.".

Basically, don't waste your time as I did and go with a decent provider.

Talk talk is not to be trusted as a provider of either broadband or TV provider. And if you have a problem don't expect less than a 45minute Wait on the phone before you get to speak to an agent .when you get through they don't know what they are doing. Talk talk is use less

This is an amateur farce of a provider. I was with them a year and the service was intermittent and totally unreliable. Call centres are all abroad, South Africa and manilla. You'll wait up to an hour to get through and when you do the help given is useless. They'll try and sell you something

Cannot believe just how terrible the broadband speeds are, the customer service is a disgrace. Some of the suggestions made would be pure comic genius if I wasn't so bloody annoyed. All I want to do is cancel my subscription but complaint after complaint after complaint has got me no where. Been trying since 4th Feb 16. SAVE YOUR SOUL, do not sign up to TALK TALK. One day I might be free to surf the net...

Hi You think you have problems, try this.

I ended my contract with Talktalk in April this year, and they cut off everything on the agreed date, (I was moving home) but I was sent bills afterwards. Contacting the chat line I spent a long time explaining the situation to some nice lady in another country I think, who was very helpful and apologised for THE MIX UP. Thought that was the end of it ! O NO, still got bills sent, so went back and had another long chat with another lady, who agreed that the first one had been correct and again apologised for the problem.

Now believe me, I have a letter from a colection agency threatening me with legal action if I don't pay £389.55 for a service that should and did not exist. I also sent letter to Talktalk accounts explaining what had happened, still no reply.

Shame realy as after being with them for years, I would have possibly used them again when I was ready to in my new address.

Although I had no issues with their actual internet and its speed TalkTalks customer service is atrocious! Their online help chat is pointless as the people behind it have no idea what they are doing and if you accidently get disconnected you have to start the whole process from start. Their phone help line is just as bad as it takes at least 1 hour before you get connected to a human being. Also be careful if you switch address on your talk talk account online as they will cancel your current contract and sign you up for a new one without your knowledge. Worst customer service ever!

I requested a new line with TalkTalk as I wanted to take advantage of their free broadband for a year. I should have taken notice of the warning signs when they tried to cut off my landlord, who is with TalkTalk. They then cancelled my order. I then spoke to their customer services, who were confused over my order. We finally reinstated the order. After 3-4 months of attempting to install a new line, numerous attempts to find out why my order is taking so long, they finally gave me an installation date from BT. I waited on said date for the engineer to come (between 1-6pm). They never turned up. Spoke to TalkTalk and they were no help at all. Not one of them could explain anything. hey all have exactly the same script, which is trying to listen to. Not even their Manager found the time to talk to me or contact me. No one seems to want to 'talktalk' with me. Today I received a txt from them saying they have canceled my order, again! I called them to fin out what is going on. I got no help from the customer services person who was only interested in selling me their security services; on a line I don't even have yet! I asked them if they want my business, to which I had no answer. They cannot offer me any compensation, or help in any way. All during this stressful time, I asked to speak to 'Level 2 Tech Support', as I was told by an ex-TalkTalk employee were based in UK and would be able to help. No, TalkTalk did not want to put me through to them as I did not have a physical line yet. In my experience, TalkTalk have the absolute worst customer service, and are the worst company I have ever tried to have business with. I would NEVER EVER recommend them to even my worst enemy. They are that bad!

    Thay was the short version!

Cancelled it within 3 days of going live. Would have been better if I had dial-up ethernet internet! I had to be sat in the same room as the router for my internet to work otherwise the signal kept cutting out and when it did work it was quite slow. I turned wifi off in the end and just used my phone data!!I could only put "controls" on one device and would have to pay for any others - Not great when you have 2 children. There was no way to program the hub to turn the internet off at a certain time like I have been able to with other providers. It was all very 10 years behind and not up with the other providers..
Couldn't find a cheap number to call them on so used the online chat and told them to cancel asap so that I wouldn't have to pay any early exit fees. The person I was talking to was OK but took ages to reply and the typed conversation went on for half an hour, not ideal of you're in a rush. Cut off still going to take 2 weeks and waiting to see what they're going to bill me. I have been assured that there wont be any charges other than the first months use but we shall see.
All in all a waste of time and i'm going to lose my landline number now and be without internet for a bit due to cancelling. May be a cheap deal but it's not even worth it

I would give less than one star for All of those if I could. My partner and I joined talktalk about 5 months ago as they offered the cheapest service in the area. We knew we were moving in the contract time so they told us we would get a free move no strings attached.our service never fully made it up to scratch and even when it said we were getting a good connection it wavered and things would always buffer. We moved sooner than expected and they agreed to move us but increased our bill and reset our contract to another full year. I didn’t argue as we just needed the move ASAP. An engineer came out after 2 weeks and set the line up to leave a fault in the connection and we weren’t even receiving 1mbps more like 0.2mbps. We called to fix this to be told we would need to pay for an engineer. We argued them down to no payment and they set a date and I received a text confirming. For the engineer to never show up. I even booked a day off work to ensure I was home. I called and apparently an engineer hadn’t been booked and it would be another week before one was available. They then told us our two month router was out of date. They sent a new one but at this point we were done. They even tried charging us for a new router! The basic one I’ll add that you get for free when you sign up! We spent evenings after work and weekends on the phone to them for up to an hour (mostly on hold) trying different methods and sometimes even getting angry and then apologising because we understand it isn’t the advisors fault. But they all say different things and then tell you that the last persons promises were wrong. As we had a new contract we were told we have the cool down period if we would like to leave for free. I got told it was on the 20/4 so I said we will see how it goes and I call up on the 16/4 to cancel to be told I was going to have to pay over £200 to leave. They read my chat transcript that said the 20/4 and came back tail between their legs and agreed to waiver the payment. I get severe anxiety on the phone and these people take the royal piss and do not communicate well at all. We were told our property could only get 9.8mbps when we were guaranteed promised 11.5mbps so they weren’t meeting the contract in the first place. They agreed that it’ll take 30 days to cancel the contract so there will be one more final bill. Talktalk kept calling me at around 12-2 most weekdays so I called and said I work please call me after 5 if they have further information but when I asked what they were after they had no info to give. I kept getting texts in the 30 day wait being told my case was being closed as I had made no contact even though I had called multiple times. When they book a call they will not call you at that time. I kept calling and being on hold for ages just to be met with “you need to call on the 16/5. I had a call booked in and as I said they didn’t call to get w call while I was at work Friday at 1.30. Luckily I was on lunch so I answered. The guy started rattling on and I stopped him and asked why he called me. He said it was to
Discuss compensation and I said about work and he said “oh yes I see that on your file” to not even apologise and continue his speech. So I stopped him and asked for weekend hours. I hung up and tried calling back on Saturday. But now my accounts been disconnected I couldn’t get through. They put me in touch with a text guru to say I needed to call sales as my compensation should be ready and they cannot help me. They’ve taken £45 over the last two months when we have had no service and just keeping saying “we will compensate you the reasonable correct amount after your final bill” the one that came out on the 16/5. Do I sit on hold for 30 minutes on the sales team to be put through to a manager finally. I was already irritable because of the half hour hold but as always I was polite and asked for my compensation after explaining the situation the manager got an ear full when he told me another final bill will be coming out on June 4th. So another £20 they are taking from us with literally no service and no notification of this! I said I wanted my £45 now and I couldn’t afford to pay out another £20 to them when I now have another provider offering a service a million times better then them and they were able to fix the “fault”. The guy said I would need to call up on the 4th of June once my final bill has been paid and they’ll be able to discuss my compensation. I said I’d never received such awful service when the advisors can’t even give the same advice. Talktalk have been nothing but a pain. I remember the first time I called them with the fault all concerned and confused as they said our service would be ready that evening so calm and collected to be told we would have to fork out money for their mistakes. If they try this with you stand your ground. If it is a fault of theirs they need to take the responsibility. I have friends and family with talktalk and they luckily have good connection but have agreed the customer service has been awful whenever they reach out. They may be one of the cheapest but they have ways of making money from you. I will never go back to talktalk and will never recommend them to a friend or family member or my worst enemy.

I have left. A review before but again I want to leave one to say the customer service is awful. Honestly worst company I have ever had the displeasure to use.
They promised a refund to then not offer the same amount. And then agreed a set amount to only refund me 2/3 of the amount. They will not send me the last £10 after numerous attempts to be told “they can’t refund a good Will gesture and it can be used for my next bill” I will never use this service again

Terrible service, no one understands what you are asking, feel like you are going round in circle over and over again when trying to resolve an issue. You could spend 15 hours on the phone with this company and would still come off the phone call knowing no new information from when you started the call. Absolute waste of time. Don't waste your money. Go with EE! Their call centres are in Newcastle, they understand exactly what you are talking about and have the best customer service ever. I have a personal contact with a direct email address who can sort anything out with the click of his fingers! Don't waste your money with this waste of space company!!

If I could score lower I would. I have been with talk talk for a year. Internet isn't great. Cuts out every so often. Signal on the tv cuts out every so often. Not all devices connect to the Wi-Fi. As for billing. If you receive your bill by email you get 6 days notice to pay your bill. Every where else gives you 14 days. Last 3 months with talk talk have been a nightmare. Not taking payment so having to pay manually. So they decided I should receive my bill through post. Never arrived. So I wasn't able to pay it. So they cut me off. Refusing to reinstall my serviced untill I paid. Wich I reminded them if you don't send a bill I can't pay. How ever absolutely disgusted with their service. And the way I was being spoken too. I rang another provider to join them. And within half an hour I received a final bill over £180 from talk talk. But can't make sure I receive my monthly bills. They say it's because I,m leaving before the end of the contract. My contracted ended last month. But I have seen on other posts that talk talk only do 24 month contracts wich l was not advised off at the time of signing up. I don't doubt they will do everything in their power to obtain the disconnection fee for a service they had all ready disconnected before I went else where. Seriously do not go with talk talk. They might be better for the bank Ballance. But if you want a good service and an even better customer service then talk talk are the wrong company for that.

this is the WORST company I have ever had to deal with, poor customer service from the start of the calls. I have 6 month left on a 18 month contract, for a year and a half I've been asking for my payment date to be changed to the 27th of each month, which is the date I get paid from work. still to this day they have not actioned this, making me get bank charges every single month not to mention them wanting to add late payment fees to my account every month! diabolical company, staff, customer service, not to mention the terrible speed of broadband. utterly disgusting, TalkTalk you WILL NOT be getting another penny from me and I will be telling everybody I know not to open a contract with you lot! disgusting on so many levels you should be ashamed

Absolutely disgusted called talk talk to discuss bulling and the fact the internet is utter rubbish ! Crashing slow "we can fix that" transferred to the customer loyalty team who then say "yes we can fix it for 4 pounds a month extra" hang on a second ... If you can fix it and I'm getting currently no service that I'm already paying for why on earth would I want to pay more !!! They have no response no way to apologise or talk about it just silence at the other end of the phone ! Disgusted, I ask then to speak to the complaints team ... Closed ... Then have the cheek to give me a premium rate number to call when it's free to phone them usually ... I'm complaining about what I'm paying and they think it's appropriate to give me a premium rate number to call are this company actually for real??? Moving to BT ASAP sick to death of going through the same bull with the uneducated staff at talk talk !!!

If you are considering signing a contract with this company FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T!!!
We signed an 18 month contract with talk talk in 2013, for the first few months it was great, then the internet speed started to drop, getting to the point where we no longer had good enough speeds to watch catch up TV/Now TV both of which were services we were paying for.
After multiple phone calls and arguments with talktalk's less than helpful customer service representatives talktalk finally agreed to send out an engineer to see what the issue was, warning us that if the issue was found to be our fault we would have to pay £50 for the call out, we we're told the engineer would be with us a month later. After telling my partner this he said he wasn't waiting that long, cancel the contract and we'll get a new provider. Funnily enough when I called to cancel I was very quickly informed that they would send an engineer out within 4 days!! On his visit the engineer confirmed the issue was with the equipment provided by talktalk and reassured me that I would not be charged for this visit as the fault was not ours.
As you've probably already guessed they charged me for that visit therefore taking money out of my account without my knowledge or cencent putting me over drawn leaving me with a £60 bank chargers whilst it took them 10 days to return the money to me.
After another 7months of continued problems both with the internet connection and the customer service provided we gave up, I rang talktalk yesterday to tell them I wanted to cancel my contract as I wanted to sign up with another provider (I don't trust providers to do this as we have lost money before through a new provider saying they would cancel the current contract and not doing it.... thinking about it that was when we moved from Sky to talktalk so another cock up on talktalk's behalf) I was told that my contract runs out on April 28th so they would cancel our contract on the 29th so that we would not incur any charges, I asked what would happen with another provider taking over, they said that's not a problem they would call talktalk and take over the line and sort it out between themselves. I today got a phone call to be told I will be charged £20 as my new provider has asked to take over the line on the 9th April, after 20mins of pointing out to talktalk that the information they provided me was incorrect to which they have agreed, they are still however going to charge me for canceling my contract "early" despite the fact that only yesterday told me that I would not be charged and that the line change would be sorted between themselves and my new provider!!
Please take my experience on board if you are considering this company, they have literally stolen from me, and they are going to do it again, I will be going to CAB tomorrow and if needs be I will continue this further. Please do not put yourself at talktalk's mercy because they will make sure you regret ever making such a stupid decision.

1 star is too high for these scam artists and thieves they took money out of my account for 2 years for a service I didn't receive. I spent hours on the phone pleading for help and they kepts saying someone would call and no one ever did.

it would be better to pay more and go to a company who actually cares for its customers.

I am a legacy customer from an earlier Tiscali contract. When Talk Talk took over they said, "either you place your phone business with us or we will increase the cost of your Broadband" by 40%, it turned out. I spend £1000 p.a. on phone so was reluctant to give them the phone biz, faced with threats of this kind. But we kept the BB because we needed the old Tiscali email address which we were sure we'd lose if we moved BB provider. So now after 1.5 years of paying £25 pm for rubbish service, I have now spent 4 months trying to terminate the contract. My theory: they've sold the contract termination part of the business to some call center operator and the staff there will rather die than let a customer go, no doubt all for some peanuts commission for every contract closure they avert. Great business model - going to try it myself. Peace ... not

Overall I have had a very bad experience with talk talk. My Internet connection is unreliable and not that fast. I have spoken to customers service in two occasions. On the first occasion the service was discusting and on the second occasion was nice enough. I tell most people I know not to join talk talk and can't wait for my contract to end

Absolute rubbish from start to finish, i have TalkTalk phone line and call package and never had an issue with this so i decided to switch from Orange to TalkTalk for my broadband BIG MISTAKE. Sine starting the service approx 6 weeks ago i have had little or no connection, constant connection drops (every few seconds) meaning i cannot watch any tv via I player etc or download anything. So i am now on this great web site looking for another provider or possibly considering going back to Orange who were brill except a little on the high price side. Would recommend TalkTalk phone service to anyone would not recommend the broadband service at all. Very poor. Customer service for this is poor as well due to no-one putting notes on my account meaning everytime i call with the same fault they have no recored that i have already called 3 times already that night as i cant get connected to the internet.
