My broadband speed at 0.4Mb is consistently bad. It makes no difference who the provider is because the cause is the national system. The government needs to place a lower limit on the speeds in order to force investment. Enough said!!!

My 84 year old nan had moved and I set up her broadband with talktalk. What a huge mistake that was ! She already had to wait over two weeks for installation and then we found out they had put a typo in the address I called to correct that, thinking it would be a simple procedure as it was in the same complex yards away and they said they had to start a new application/ set up. I said how long will that take they replied up to another 2 weeks. I said that’s unacceptable it’s a fault on your side that you put the wrong address (as me and nan were both on the phone when they started the broadband package ) and it would take a further two weeks to set up of which we’d already waited. I asked to speak to the manager as to which I the talktalk employer said it would take 24-48 hours because of “covid”. Nan didn’t have a landline either which an 84 year old needs incase of emergencies (she’s still learning her mobile phone). I called again to ask why a manager hasn’t called back and spent over two hours attempting to explain the situation being put through one person to another when why don’t they put you straight through the person required in the first place ? I was promised adamantly in 20 mins time we would get a call back. Months later we are still waiting for these phone calls! Absolutely terrible service, I’d have a better response talking to a brick wall…and it gets worse… I called to cancel the package still within our cancellation policy dates and said that yes it had all gone through, cancelled - when we received a letter stating an amount of £153 was owed due to contract breakage and also there was a bill come through with all these phone calls that nan hadn’t made due to not having a running phone line (broken). I called to amend this and the woman on the phone said nobody called to cancel (I think I remember calling to cancel dear …) this whole process has been absolutely infuriating and stressful for my Nan. I have never dealt with such imbeciles in my life, please avoid this company like the plague ! I’d not even give it one star.

By far the worst customer service imaginable!! Repeated threats of a £50 'environmental' charge if you do not return the 'free' router for disposal. Charged £30 for an engineer visit that I never requested and then a £25 late payment fee after I hadn't been a customer for months (which they later had to admit was a mistake and refund!). They seem like a bunch of con artists who like to strong arm customers into paying additional fees to me.

I had to give one star as it does not allow minus or zero 0= that is exactly what talk talk deserves. Reported fault many many times, after about 10 times not calling back and not finding it in their system they apparently fixed the issue, only that it started 3 days later again. As soon as my contract with them finishes - never again. Utterly incompetent and useless, nigh impossible to get through to talk to someone in person and then they have no clue about anything anyway, all they are interested is to sell you another package.

The most dispicable service and treatment of customers imaginable and I speak as a "vulnerble customer" they claim to prioritise, what a joke, they left me for months with crap connection, they couldn't care less including their CEO , many people heard bad things about them but believe me reality is FAR WORSE, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

I've had talk talk for years now and during the beggining it was fine. But in 2018 it started going downhill with the wifi only reaching the room its in and then if you go into the next room it completely disconnects. The speed only reaches 37mbps and other broadbands reach 300 or higher. If anyone wants to seek bad internet take a look at talktalk and make your nightmares a reality but if you want good internet, literally use anything else. Very Bad Speed, Reliability satisfaction and customer service.

This company is the worst. There customer services is the worst i have ever dealt with. They are patronising unhelpful and do not listen they will talk over you as though they are just reading from a script. Television never works or is slow and never loads. Internets not too bad but not as quick as virgin or sky at all. I would avoid this company spend a bit more because although tqlk talk is cheap you pay for what you get a cheap service

If I could have put no stars I would have. Absolutely shocking customer service and broadband. For 6 week's I was paying for a service I wasn't recieving as the broadband just went off one day and wouldn't come back on. Everytime an engineer was supposed to come out, nobody turned up. In the end I left them and have for the past 6 month's had them sending me letters for payments out despite me not owing them a penny. Today I was contacted by a debt collection agency on behalf of TalkTalk for a 'late payment fee' that never existed. I have never been in debt. So not only have they made up a debt that has never existed but they have affected my credit rating and had debt collectors contact me and there response was 'mistakes happen'. Maybe once, but not several time TalkTalk! Avoid!

We have had numerous problems with our router which talk talk refuses to acknowledge. Low speeds, cutting in and out, and finally breaking completely. Every time we ring talk talk tell us to "wait a few days and if it still isn't working call back" we moved house and even got an engineer round who told us that our router was broken and he would leave it in his notes. After ringing talk talk again, they still didn't believe us until I basically had to shout at them and tell them we cannot work from home without the internet. Then and only then did the lady on the other end tell us a new router would be deliverer in 2 days. It's been two nearly two weeks. Disgusting.

Very bad, poor service. I bought the broadband service and told the man representative who sold to me I want to retain my phone number. They did exactly opposite without my knowledge. I only got to know when I called yesterday to report poor Internet experience. . The phone cut off, I thought the guy will call back instead of me starting the whole process again but he didn't. Now they are telling me they can restore because they would give it to someone else. How could you just be changing people home without any prior agreement. These people are all dummies..If you don't sort out my number and should your Internet keep breaking. I shall terminate the contract..

I have fibre500 speed up to 512 mbits. Real speed 100 - 320, system is failing all the time. Customer service totally rubbish. It is cheaper than others, but really unreliable. BT or Sky is much better, a few pounds more are worth to spend rather than this

Over the last month (July 2021) my wifi has started just dropping out consistantly every 5 to 10 minutes. Some days it's on and off, other days its down for 10hours straight.

When it is working it can now barely load a basic website.

I'm losing out on work because I can't get anything done!!

This hasn't been a problem previously. I've been with Talk Talk for 2 years (in 2 different flats) - This just started a month ago and has been consistantly terrible since.

    - if you manage to get hold of Customer service they just tell you to unplug everything then plug it back in.

I'm paying for a service that I can't use. I literally just need to get onto the internet for work! I'm not running anything hightech or using multiplr devices and I'm the only person in the house.

DON'T PICK TALK TALK IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE.

I've been a TalkTalk customer for a number of years and a few months ago was going to leave because of a price hike. I was persuaded to stay with a reduced fee and since then broadband speeds have been through the floor and often the service drops out completely. I've recorded speeds as low as 0.04mbps. TalkTalk's speedtest is the Ookla one however when run through the TalkTalk website it gives different and more favourable results to running it directly through Ookla. I suspect there may be some manipulation of the result although this is only suspicion. I have spent a huge number of hours going nowhere with online chat "help" and telephone "help" although they have now agreed that my contract can be cancelled because they are failing to give me the minimum speed specified. I'll be leaving soon but TalkTalk have sent me an email asking me to stay for another reduced fee and described the service they are providing me with as "fast" and "reliable." It is neither!! Anyone thinking of becoming a TalkTalk customer would be well advised to look elsewhere, the company is a nightmare and really don't give a toss about it's customers. If the senior managers tested the help service maybe things would change but until then expect to spend between 1-2 hours if using online chat and a minimum of 1 hour for telephone support. Do not expect any faults to be found or rectified in this time scale. Invariably you will be told there is no fault and if they send an engineer out you might be liable for a fee. When engineers have visited me in the past they have found faults with the service. Life is too short and too precious to waste on a company like TalkTalk. I will never return to TalkTalk, they are a nightmare.

Attempted two phones calls in the cooling off period to cancel. Now going through a complaint process because both times they hung up and didn't leave any notes.

Wanted to cancel because their service is slow and patchy (it crashes if there are multiple devices on) but now want to cancel and avoid because of their customer service.

After having a very poor experience trying to sign up with talk talk I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake.
I have been with them for 6 days and not had internet for 5 of those days.
Tech team are utterly useless and have been waiting for 3 days for a manager to call me. If I call in to chase this up both the tech and customer service team refuse to deal with it as they believe it’s not their problem so the only thing I can do now is leave bad reviews in as many places as possible in the hope someone who can deal with both teams will have the decency to contact me.

Absolutely disgusted with this company my partner upgrades from wifi to the tv box set was paying £21.00 for the WiFi and to upgrade to the tv box set it would come to £29 to witch we was happy we had a problem with connecting our WiFi to the box as the WiFi was in the kitchen and the box was in the living room half way across the house so spoke to talk talk last month was on the phone for over a hour had the phone put down on me till I left a review on trust pilot and someone called me back saying I could have the WiFi adapter for a extra £10 one off payment so that would come to £40 this month only and next month would continue to be £29
£60 got took out of my partners account she’s absolutely gutted
As her account was overdrawn and she did not have the extra money to cover her rent so she was short. The box is a absolute joke they don’t tell you that you need your WiFi box next to your tv and now we have just been robbed I’m sick of ringing talk talk and getting put threw to a call center half way across the world as they don’t understand my complaint I will not be using this box set anymore and have plugged it out and I will also not be recommending it to my family and friends also
Absolutely disappointed and disgusted in talk talk service I wish I stayed with sky and will be talking with sky about redoing them for there internet and there tv serviced

This is what you get after being with talk talk for more then 10 years.

I have had the talk talk Fibre 65 broadband connection for the past 3 weeks and it’s been consistently low. While Talk Talk claim to have an average speed of 67 mbps I am only getting 28mbps speed. Their engineer attended today , which I had to pay for , and confirmed the speed as being approximately 30 mbps. We were informed by the engineer that Talk Talk’s own portal also confirmed the low speed. Called us customer service who are absolutely abysmal at understanding the issue or trying to resolve it.

    Horrible Internet Provider!
The worst experience I have with this provider- Every single day it stops at midnight and will Show: "Connected" "No Internet".
Same happening during the day few times per day.
Impossible to work from home- losing my work, missing zoom meetings.
There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL!
You can call as much as you like- no one will help. First year and last with them.

One of the worst customer service I have even experienced in my entire life, I have been with TalkTalk for three years just cancel the contract today, they always lie to you, waste your time and don’t really give a crap about customers.

Now they said they will charge me extra even though my contract is ending on the 26th of august, because I had to give 30 days notice, it’s been taking me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get through to the right department, they have been transferring me from one department to another, I went through the headache please you don’t go

Take my money each month for a service that don’t work. Told I would get a phone call back and I’ve not heard a single thing. I would not recommend this in the slightest. **** ass company happy to take money off you! STAY AWAY FROM THE **** TIP OF A COMPANY!!!

I have been with TT for many, many years. Can only have ordinary BB but it is generally OK. As long as I get a signal I don't worry about speed etc. They have always been good to me, letting me take advantage of new customer lower offers, sending full kits including ethernet extenders, latest superhub, being accessible on the phone etc. Until now. My contract ended and the price hiked and when I tried to call many times to get the usual good offer all I got was a message in an American gangster-type voice saying "we cannot answer your call" and cutting me off. I got so fed up with it I went elsewhere. Hope I don't regret it! M

Utterly shocking customer service. I have genuinely never experienced such an utter lack of concern for the consumer. We purchased WiFi. It took them two weeks to send the router. The WiFi has never worked from day 1 (this is now 3 weeks later). It was extremely difficult to get through to their customer service team to raise this as an issue in the first place. It kept saying that no advisors were available. When we eventually got through it took an hour and a half to run their "tests", in which they were deliberately difficult and unhelpful and were clearly unable to deviate from their script, before they eventually agreed to send an engineer. They did say that they would charge for an engineer (no other company does this), before eventually agreeing to waive this fee. The engineer came, was unable to fix it and referred it to a separate BT engineer. The BT engineer supposedly came, but didn't make their presence known. We then received a message saying everything was fixed when it clearly wasn't as there was still no WiFi. We again attempted to raise this with customer services and was told that I would have to pay for another engineer to come out. They insisted that despite the agreement previously, that this one would be chargeable as it was raised in a new contact with customer services. Upon then requesting to cancel the contract given that we still weren't in receipt of the service we had paid for and they clearly weren't interested in fixing the problem, in contravention of basic consumer rights (i.e. right to cancel 30 days from receipt) they attempted to claim that we couldn't cancel as they only allowed a 20 day 'cooling off period' from the date of the order, which had expired before the product was even delivered.

Just waited over 30 minutes to speak to an advisor to find out why my bill had gone up. I was told that even though I have a 18 month contract that it changes after 12 months???? I asked why and was told told I should read my package that was sent through with the contract. Be warned read the small print on the package/contract as they send as they put up the price to what ever suits them.

The worst broadband provider I’ve ever dealt with. Horrendous customer service with robotic staff that seem to know absolutely nothing. Their strategy is essentially: “keep customers waiting on the line for as long as possible until they give up and hang up”. Do not use at all costs.

First rate service from this company. If could have scored zero we would have. I am terminally ill and all I wanted was to change the Direct Debit details. 3 levels of authorisation later and they still refused to help. They would not send forms in the post and due to my condition I cannot as they suggested go to a local library. We then told them just to change the Direct Debit details to our joint account and they still refused. Raised a complaint to the CEO and even though they listened to the call and have heard I gave authorisation they have still refused to talk to my wife. I have had now been admitted to hospital and they wont assist in any way. Not an ounce of compassion and they deserve to lose customers as they have been. If you are thinking this inhuman company think again because they are only interested in taking your money

    Customer service is exceptionally bad.
They make it incredibly difficult to have a conversation with someone, whether that be by phone or chat. The chat is so slow to respond and the phone operators put you on hold for an age.
Leaving with an incredibly sour taste in the mouth and will never use Talk Talk again as a result.

Sly, Sly, Sly. I'm on a very low income yet you need the internet to function in this day and age. I signed up for an 18 month contract at £22 per month. Low and behold 3 months into the contract the monthly fee has risen to £24.50. According to Talktalk i was informed via email of the price increase however i genuinely can not remember seeing it but that proves nothing. I also confess that i did not look at the whole terms and conditions and now i can't be bothered to because according to them i am tied in to the end of the contract and should i leave i will be charged approx £10 per month for every month my contract still has to run. When you see a price linked with a term length you expect (or at least poor fool me did) the conditions to remain the same such as a 12 month fixed term with British Gas or E.O.N..... Not with this lot. (just look at their offer on uswitch. it looks decent, at first glance) I will see out my contract or i will be billed over £130 for nothing but when it's up i'm gone, NEVER TO RETURN.

My internet kept going, first it was once or twice a day, then more regular, then after a few days it was cutting out every 10 minutes. I contacted TalkTalk who text me to say "We have found a fault and we need to send an OpenReach engineer to fix it...

...(cont) The appointment is free in most cases, but you could be charged £65.00 if you are not at home when the engineer arrives, or other circumstances detailed in the TOC"

The engineer came but couldn't find a problem (I was at home when he came). I'm not stupid and can diagnose a problem, so there was no issue my end of loose cables or anything. The engineer said 'they might have been doing work elsewhere, which has caused issues with your connection"

Now to me that isn't my problem. To TalkTalk, they clearly think that it is/was my problem as they have charged me £65.00 for the engineer coming round to deal with a fault that they said they'd found that he couldn't find.

I am still finding my internet cutting out a couple of times a day, but obviously I have to live with this now as I can't keep paying £65.00 for them to send someone to look and find no fault with their shoddy service. Poor

They consistently offer better deals to new customers than existing ones and their support team is useless.

By far the worst internet provider i have ever used. Every other day at 12pm at midnight the internet drops for a good 25-30 minutes and ofcourse there is NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT at that time. Slow connection, non existant customer service, internet outages every 1 or 2 days. Disgusting, simply disgusting.
