The fact that I am having to wait patiently for 10 months to get away from this awful company says it all really.
I would not advise anyone (except Liverpool supporters) to use this company.

I have been with talk talk since 26/10/15 . I already have had 2 bills from then each in excess to the bill I am suppose to have . I set up direct debt they still charge me extra £4.50 as well saying my bank did not let them set it up , which is I think is another way of extortion of more money from customers . For a monthly payment of £22 , in last 40 days I have paid them £44 + £37 . When I call them they say manager will call for refund or I am kept waiting till it is 8pm and they automatically disconnect , no such luck of refund ! I so very regret to sign up with them as the speed which they say is 38 certainly is much slower . I will now do a formal complaint if this is not resolved in next 1 week .

    Awful.
Cut off before switching ISP. TalkTalk conveniently, for them, could only send an engineer before the new line (FTTP) was installed, rendering their engineer visit pointless. They won't, however, pay any compensation for the time they didn't provide a service because no engineer came.

    DO NOT USE TALK TALK.

I am an IT Technical professional and have spent hours trying to fix talk talk broadband for other people! They have now bought and integrated my existing provider (PIPEX) and guess what, I haven't had a broadband connection for the last 10 days!!

After 5pm their 10p per minute helpdesk just says "your position in the queue is greater than 9" or "We are really busy, call back later" and hangs up on you. It also then closes at 9pm.

I have endured the long wait times and spoken to them 4 times now and have been promised someone will call me back, but they never have.

Sign up to Talk Talk at your peril!

    WARNING!!

If you are planning on moving house in the next 18 months then DO NOT SIGN UP!

They force you to sign a new 18 month contract every time you move or force you to buy yourself out of the contract!!

I am currently disputing this with the regulator.

    I'll pull no punches.

TalkTalk completely screwed up on my installation and I spent countless hours on phone calls and emails in order to resolve the problems.

Last year TalkTalk allowed the details of many of it's customers to be stolen - a huge security breach! Now, I've started getting a large number of calls from TalkTalk support (NOT) trying to steal from me - they know:

    My full name
    My address
    My TalkTalk account No.
    My telephone number.
    and God knows what else!!!

This is all due to TalkTalk's security breach but no doubt they'll dispute that.

My advice to anyone looking for a broadband provider - STAY AWAY FROM TALKTALK.

A simple task like moving house is turning into a nightmare. I rang Talk TAlk last week and spoke to a very helpful chap. As ther is going to be a month or so gap between leaving one property and moving into another I was advised that my account could be frozen until I was ready to move into my new house and a note would be made on my account explaining this. All I needed to do was ring to give them 24 hours notice to close down the services at my old address and freeze the account. Thats when the fun began. This morning I attempted just that. After speaking to person A and having to explain exactly what I wanted I was transferred to person B and had to g othrough it all again despite there being notes on my file. Person B put me on "hold" while she actioned the request but after 10-15 minutes it donned on me that the line was in fact dead. I re-dialled and had to go through the whole process again with a different person A before being transferred to a different person B. After she spent another 10 minutes asking what Iwanted she then decides to tell me that the system is very busy and can she call me back before 6pm tonight. No she bloody well can't!!!! I am in the office and this should have taken 10 minutes max but I have been passed around for over 45 minutes now. Simple, if I do not receive a call by 4pm(my normal leaving time) I will cancel the DD and walk away. The ycan write all they like , I won't be there. I vote with my feet when I get crap service!!!!

    About talktalk mobile review:

There are many providers give mobile contract very chaper than talktalk mobile. Please think more, before buying talktalk mobile.

Here, I want to share my experience because of buying talktalk mobile, then you will decide to buy talktalk mobile or not.

Last year, unfortunately, I bought mobile from talktalk. It's a very basic modal. contract is £10 per month. My broadband contract completes last year itself. Last 3 months, my broadband speed is very very slow. It shows less than 2 Mbps. Sometimes, it loads less than 1 Mbps. I complaint manytimes, but speed will not increase. sometimes google.co.uk itself takes loads for 2 minutes. If I will try to load youtube, it takes minimum 5 minutes to load one song. So, I was thinking to move from talktalk broadband to other provider. I informed to talktalk, I am thinking to leave from talktalk broadband. They informed me, my broadband contract automatically extends another 2 year because of my mobile purchase from talktalk. If I will cancel broadband contract, they told me to pay £24 pound per month for mobile in the remaining contract period. Then, I asked to cancel my mobile contract, they told me to pay £120 pound to cancel my mobile contract (that mobile cost itself £70 pound in the market).

So, please think many times before buying mobile from talktalk, There are many providers in the market ready to give in same price or even less than that.

I don't want to give one star itself, but it's mandatory to select star.

I will 2nd what Sarah from Essex has to say about your customer service. If there was a minus one star i would happily give that. The worst I've ever encounter, can barely understand what they are saying, and when you do managed to talk with someone who you can comprehend with, theyre not helpful and quick to past you over to another department. Wish I could get out of this contract!!!

Awful. Had them in our flat when we first moved in together and it was okay, moved into a house around a year later and has been non stop issues. Speed is poor, keeps cutting out and service is poor. Currently trying to cancel with them and have been on the phone for 45 mins and spoke to 5 different people.

Useless company. Ordered broadband, phone and tv. Could only receive basic Freeview channels when higher package was ordered. No amount of talking to them resolved the problem, every time I did I got the same response which was they would run checks. They couldn't find anything wrong but were happy to carry on charging me for the full tv service and refused to let me cancel. Had to cancel direct debit in the end.

I complained to TT because of a problem with spam. Eventually I was passed on to someone in the CEO office. This person said she called me but my phone had no record. She left me a contact number I phoned it 3 or 4 times left messages but she never got back to me. This has been going on for two weeks and I am yet to speak to the person. All Talktalk no action.

I have been a talk talk customer for more than 3 years, and I've not really had any problem with them except when I've had to call the customer service help line. I have very little time for nonsense... But recently I brought my Mother over to the service, simply because of the money she would be saving compared to sky or virgin.... But I have had nothing but problems from the moment they took over the service. My mum is 86 years old and lives by herself... Not only did they expect her to set up the broadband by herself, they wanted her to run a physical check when it wasn't working. Which would mean her bending down and moving furniture to get to the plugs etc... A thing that is difficult for her to do...Talk talk is a telecommunication company yet they are unable to call customers like my Mum to help them with step by step instructions... I was even given an absurd length of time for them to fix a problem, I mean they were telling me five working days to fix a simple problem... They were very apologetic like they always are, but who needs an apology, when all you want them to do is their Job....Do not I repeat do not use talk talk if you have very little patience... because they will make you lose it...

I have been with talk talk for about 7 months now. The experience has been very poor. About a month ago I talked to one of their advisors who offered me a new package, before I had fibre medium with tv package, he offered me a simply broadband package for 12month half price, I asked the advisor if their is any fee for changing package, he said "No there is no fee to change package" so I agreed the deal, and now I am being charge £118.03 "Changing package fee" when I called them about it, they are just ignoring the fact that advisor lied to me. Do not make a mistake and get a contract with this company. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE although my broadband connection seems good.

I needed to save money so my hand was forced into signing up with TalkTalk. I thought 'fiber' meant I was getting fiber optic, but nope, TalkTalk are all about the archaic internet delivery via a phone line. This in turn means I have to sign into the various devices I have that use wi-fi connection regularly. I lose connection daily and have to switch the router on and off which doesn't always solve the issue. The slightest drop of rain wreaks havoc with the connection. The internet is so painfully slow at times that I give up altogether on whatever I'm doing that requires wi-fi. All in all I just keep thinking about the day I can switch my contract again.

Customer services is atrocious. Hardly ever get anywhere with them. 90% of calls are abroad which takes an hour to get to a UK service which actually try help. (if they succeed or not is a different question). Download speed is the only thing which isn't too bad (6 mb / 8 mb). 40 gb cap is a pain in the arse, but i can't upgrade due to not being the bill payer. Reliability is awful, cuts off whenever we go on the phone, even random times. Filters seem to do more damage than good.

Broadband was terrible so rang Talktalk and they suggested I upgrade. I did so and this started a new contract. Broadband still poor so rang and asked for the superdooper router that they advertised would come with my upgrade. After 2 hours haggling got it. Broadband better. Then 1 year into my new contract received an e mail from Talktalk stateing I am not getting the speeds I am paying for and suggested I downgrade to save me money. I did this and now have the poorest wifi broadband ever. Got 2 kids whose iphones wont connect to the wifi. Keep having to turn router on off. Roll on April when contract expires. Please avoid. Customet service very poor. Despite admitting I am not getting the service they still refuse any kind of refund.

If you want cheap - go with TalkTalk but if customer service, honesty and integrity matter to you then don’t. Be aware also that every time you contact them, for any reason at all they automatically extend your contract. I called to terminate today because I’m moving, they want to charge me in excess of £135 - I have a letter stating my contract end date but three separate operators all stated it was 4 months later than said letter. Their online chat system is shocking, I was online for over an hour and a half and my complaint is still not resolved. There is a language barrier because the company is outsourced and the operators cannot deviate from their ‘script’.
Please don’t sign up to TalkTalk - they are truly awful to deal with.

Avoid this company like the plague! Customer service is appalling and they will empty your bank account as soon as look at you. Conversations are slow, irritating and will only end up costing you. Don't ask for a new service ... you'll be charged £50 for each one and not informed of this. If you need and engineer to call to put things right, you'll be charged £75. My phone has not worked since their engineer spent 3.5 hours in my home installing the line, yet I would still need to pay £75 for him to come back and put right what he did wrong in the first place!!! How I wish I could turn back the clock and go elsewhere. Just don't even consider TalkTalk, they're appalling ... spread the word to as many people as possible and put this company out of business.

Utterly, utterly, utterly shocking service. Broadband itself ok, but the entire experience around it has been so miserable, with them overcharging me, delaying start dates and losing records of my complaints that I feel angry and helpless. There is no recourse or proper regulator it seems. Truly atrocious.

I have found my experience with TalkTalk over the past 2 years very mixed. I had excellent service for the 1st year but since the transition from a new to existing customer I have bombarded by price increases, deceptions and confusion when renewing a contract and stressful phone calls. Giving notice of moving house was no exception. The online process gives no option to cancel and instead forces you to carry over or choose a new package. Equally, on the chat despite being clear with my request I was being coerced to continue my account or even pass it onto the next tenant at the rented property I'm leaving! Absurd. TalkTalk has made it clear they don't care about the consumer, only the consumption of profits. Last time I use this company.

Service would go down without warning for days at a time, no compensation. Absolute WORST customer service of any product I've ever had, outsourced, useless, had multiple CS reps turn off their mics and blank me for some perceived slight. Avoid this garbage company at all costs.
Speed is the same as you'll get from any BT based ISP so just go with someone else.

Horrendous customer service experience. After spending 10 mins over phone just to verify account, spending another 15 mins to conduct some test , the customer service says "their" systems are down and I should call back in another 2 hours. Asked to transfer to cancellation team and then put on hold for another 5 mins just for some one else to pick up the phone. Horrible IT set up for an internet service provider company.

After quite a few years TalkTalk have now lost a customer spending approx. 45 per month. My son bought a new computer costing him 500 pounds. It didnt connect to the wifi so i called their scripted customer helpline. No help at all. I then spoke to a Manager who advised that as other devices worked in my home then it was nothing to do with TalkTalk! I advised them that it was a compatibility issue so needed them to fix it. They sent an engineer who changed the router, the service was still poor, no wi-i for my son and the engineer said if this doesnt work then i cant help! Theyre not interested in existing clients just new ones...so i beg everyone not to go with talktalk. I contacted knowhow who changed the security on my router to allow my son to get access. I then called Sky and they are installing in 10 days! I hate poor service and a disregard for customers. Goodbye Talktalk and good ridence!

Had phone line and broadband with Tisscali and TalkTalk for over 10 years. Last summer broad band was off more than on. Spoke to lots people from Indian sub continent difficult to understand refused "help from engineer " at £50 a time to check line, I was on the phone at the time!! Told the last person I've had enough I'm changing provider back to BT. Now I'm being chased for £200 for the rest of my "unsignrd contract" They broke the contract by denying me broadband for so long. Now being chased by a debt agency who are sympathetic because they are getting false information from TalkTalk. What a terrible company to deal with.

Having come to the end of my contact and informing Talk Talk 7 weeks ago that I will not be renewing I received a bill for a months’ services which I have not used. After spending half an hour on the phone to their customer services their conclusion is that I will continue to be billed for these service because my new provide hasn’t informed them they have taken over. I pay the bill, my contact is up, I can surely cancel it???? But no apparently not and I will be taken to court. Absolutely rediculous!! Don’t touch these morons with a barge pole

Like most providers, it is only when it goes wrong that you realise how good or bad a company is. In six months I have had two major outages. One for ten days, which required three Openreach engineers to come out before the problem was solved. The final one, a more experienced chap, found the line fault that had eluded the others in about five minutes. The second time I was without internet for a week, because of a coding error at Talktalks end, which meant I was only getting a scrambled signal. When trying to get back online I found that the router I had, a Netgear, which was originally supplied by Talktalk, was no longer supported by Talktalk, so they tried to charge me for a new one!!!! Eventually they relented and sent me a freebie, as they should have done. I use the Hotmail interface as my 'client' email, and have my own domain name connected to my business and website. The break in broadband connection caused severe disruption to all the settings around my email, and took days further to sort out. I will say that some of the support staff did their best and were genuinely helpful, but others just could not be bothered, and at the end of the day all of them have their hands tied by a poor company. At the moment I am trying to get early release from my Talktalk contract, so I can move to a decent supplier.

Worst cutomer service I hav ever received from any supplier in my whole life.
I took talk talk connection because there was a good deal but a couple of months later my discount was taken away and I was being charged more than I agreed. I did not notice it first because I had a direct debit set up but then I rang them and I was told that the dal I had taken was has expired. I asked them why would I take a deal for it expire only 2 months after the contract started. After a discussion I was given the extra money charged as a credit over the time of my contract.Recently (after being with talk talk for 1 year) I moved out of the property and wanted to know my options. I could take the coneection to my new accomodation as it was temporary and there was already internet connection there so I could either cancel the contract by paying around £180 or hold the account till the end of January to be moved over to my permanent accomodation. I was told there would be no chanrges while the account is on hold. Then I got an email from talk talk saying someone is taking over my line. I rang again and was told that because someone has moved to the property where I was living and they want to take over the line and that my contract with talk talk would stay the same and I will be given a new line when I move the services to my permanent accomodation. I again confirmed whether I could still hold the account till the end of January and I was told yes and that there are no charges. A few days later, got an email with a bill of £75 so I rang again and was told that this is contract breakage fee. I said to the customer service adviser that I had not broken the contract and that I will be taking the services to my permanent accomodation by the end of January. He said it is automatically generated bill and that I dont have to worry about it. A couple of days late money was taken from my account so I rang back again only to be told that my contract with talk talk has been cancelled. I was shocked to hear that because I was repeatedly told that my account was on hold. This time I was told that if I take a new contract with talk talk I will be refunded this fee but that would mean that I will have to sign up for another 18 month contract at a price higher than my previous contract price. I have spoken to customer service managers since then and no one has admitted to their mistake. They are insisting that they were right to concel my contract because line was taken over by some other provider. I would have been ok with the fee only of I was given this information when I spoke to the customer service adviser. Finally I was told that this issue will be escalated to the senior manager and was given a reference number. I was told that I will get a call back in 2 days but didn't get any call so I rang again and was told that there has been no response yet from senior management and that I will get a call back the same day or the day after. Again no call as expected, so I rang again today and got the same response but this time I was told that they couldn't give me any response time and they couldnt pass me on to someone else becasue there is no one senior to the customer service manager. I will not recommend the service to anyone after what I have been through.

very terrible service, when i was leaving UK with their guidance I transferred my account to the next tenant of the flat ,and they kept charging me then after, when you talk with them they just keep saying nonsense, i showed them the copy of the online chat and everything but they still kept charging me. some stupid people with zero knowledge about the company talk to you and misguide you and you have to pay for their mistake. pure frauds! after 5 months of transferring the contract to another person, I'm still paying the bills!
