The worse company I've ever dealt with. I made an order for TalkTalk's Fibre Medium and an appointment was scheduled with an technician to come to the premises to install the line. The technician came and said he was unable to find where the phone line was coming from and that another appointment was required. Okay, these things happen. I'll just have to schedule another half-day off work. TalkTalk schedules a second appointment and once again the technician reports the exact same problem. I thought this was odd because I figured the previous technician would have told him the difficulties he had, but this did not seem to be the case. So for the second time I get an technician trying the same thing and getting the same exact result. Fine, let's book a third appointment. I called customer service this time to find out what was going on, but the guy on the phone, clearly outsourced, had absolutely no clue what I was saying and just kept repeating the same thing over and over "It says here that another appointment is required". No sh*t, but he couldn't tell me why they kept making the same mistake. After realizing I was getting nowhere with this guy, I booked the third appointment. Third half-day off and this time no one shows up. I call TalkTalk and asked what the hell happened?! Apparently they forgot to send my confirmation to BT, so they did not send any technician over. I was furious and was asked to speak to the retentions department. This time I was transfered to someone who spoke English and I explained my entire situation. He apologised for their mistakes, waived the installation fee and scheduled a 4th appointment. I told him to let the BT technician know that this is NOT an easy install. Clearly there is a strange issue that will require a bit more effort than a standard procedure installation.

Fourth appointment comes along and the technician is having the same problems as the previous ones. I told him about the issues the other techs had and asked if he had any notes about this. To my amazement he said no. In other words, technicians came to my premises failed to do finish the job and left no notes. So once again the SAME attempts and the SAME problems. At this point I'm fuming. Four half-days off, 2 months since I placed my Fibre order and every visit since the first is a complete waste of my time.

I send an angry complaint to TalkTalk explaining my entire situation. I point out that they have provided me with zero customer support and, even though the techs were from BT, as their customer they should be ensuring that BT is not going to send another tech to waste my time. The complaint was 7 paragraphs long, very detailed, and I noted that if I get another scripted template answer from them I would leave negative reviews about their crappy service.

Well, I'm here now and as you can imagine their response was a scripted one. There was absolutely no reference to any specifics mentioned in my complaint. The customer rep simply said that they saw on my account that Fibre did not go live since the last appointment and that they've raised an escalation. Absolutely no mention or acknowledgement of my four failed appointments. Nothing in specific to my problems was acknowledge in the response. A template answer is what I got. Ridiculous.

Avoid this company at all costs. They don't know what the meaning of customer service is.

Simply put, this is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I have had SKY, BT and now Talk Talk broadband at my current house and only having issues now. Constant dropping of connection, every Sunday there are major connection issues, have been waiting for calls from the fault team since 12 March (now 2 April) and no one seems to give a dam about customers. I strongly advise anyone thinking of using these for broadband to think again. Yes they are cheap....but they don't provide the service they say they will. I'd rather pay a bit more and get a good service....stay clear and learn from the experiences of those on here!!

was with talktalk for 14 years, then they had their system hacked, I was forever getting scam calls which talktalk would not (@ that time) help me with so I left thinking that would end the scam calls. How wrong I was, I am still getting these calls 2 - 3 times/day all these years later. Have contacted talktalk & they do not give a damn, said they would put mt through to a dept that would handle my problem. This dept is called "Hang-up".
they have lost a customer for life now, I would go back to dial-up before I would consider them ever again

Been with talktalk for several months. Medium fibre and phone. Swapping from my previous provider was handled by talktalk and was completely painless. I did have to wait a three of weeks for the open reach engineer, hence only four stars for service, to turn up but he turned up on the agreed date completed the required work and left. The broadband was running immediately, the phone took a couple of hours. No drop outs since. I pay for 38 megs and get an average of 37 megs. Do your homework, supply from the exchange by copper wire will always be poor and variable. Go for fibre but check where your nearest bt openreach green box on the street is (it will say on it if it has a fibre connection ). If it is within a 1000m (phone lines travel under or over streets and paths not under houses) or so you should get a very good connection. If not you probably have a poor connection (copper wire) between the fibre box and your home. This is for openreach to fix via talktalk. If you have to contact talktalk the person on the phone is like any employee of any large organisation these days cheaply trained and underpaid be persistent, POLITE and patient. Stroppy will always get you poor service. Happy so far.

TalkTalk CEO office has been responsive and they have tried to resolve my problems with an unstable wifi connection in the house. The incoming signal has no issues, just the feeble router which they refuse to change to a model that the For a say is the best. For that reason, I'm not best pleased.

Tiscali were never very bright on customer service but TalkTalk are the worst I've experienced. They moved my Direct Debit date, then decided (of their own accord) not to take the next DD. They then rang me a few days after not collecting the DD to get me to upgrade my package, sent me an email to congratulate me on upgrading, then, moments later, disconnected my service for non-payment..! I've spent most of today being pushed in circles only to discover TalkTalk don't have a customer service department (that I could talk talk to) but I that could try writing to a PO Box number. Added to that my broadband is 5mb under advertised speed and since Tiscali was taken over by TalkTalk I find need to reboot my router every couple of hours. Well, I've enough. I'll pay the extra for a provider who cares. PS: I found out today that if I cancel my account (the one they cut me off on), I'll have to pay over £380) being 17 months contract value). I've suggested they get their legal team ready for a trip to my local county court. Unhappy? I can't describe how unhappy. Use PlusNet, BT, Virgin, Sky, anyone but this bunch.

I'm quite glad that Talktalk have imposed price rises as it has allowed me to end contract without penalty. The actually offered me a £20 per month deal, Inc phone sim. I was tempted, but my broadband service is patchy and their customer service is terrible. Top tip. If you do an online chat with their advisors, you can email yourself the full transcript, which should save a lot of arguments later on!!

I had TT BB for over a year without much trouble. Then I upgraded to the TV package..... TT slowed my BB from a rock solid 17 to about 8. When I phoned them they said its was the DLM that had picked up a problem on my line. I them went through months of messing about tooing and froing. I then stopped using the TV and my internet connection speed recovered without any fix. The You View box they supplied needs to be restarted every other day as it locks up. The wireless router will only allow wireless devices to connect for about a day, it also then needs to be restarted. Honestly I would say TT are the worst BB supplier I have ever used. I will not use them ever again even if they where giving it away free.

Security !! is my problem. In order to have a TalkTalk account I needed a "my account". The system at TT required me to do the normal password ID check. It would not work, after speaking to 12 people in the Philippines and spending a total of 3hr 28m on the phone, over 13 days. I was asked to clear cookies, history, different search engines, fix my windows 10, clear cache. stand on head, move my computer upstairs, I nearly gave up ! Then on the last call the my account was made to work, by giving the girl in the Philippines my choice of password, she keyed it in, at her end, I then received an email saying "congratulations you have changed your password". I then entered my em and password and I was into the system "my account" and it worked. THE Philippines HAS MY PASSWORD !!! I could nut create it. THIS WAS THE ONLY PLACE TO REPORT IT. I COULD NOT ACCESS ANYONE IN THE UK TO TELL. NO POINT OF TELLING THE PHILIPPINES ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

Our Broadband speed has never been what you might call sprightly with Talktalk, but when it went down to 230KBps Download and 130KBps Upload one night (verified with an online speed testing tool) I felt enough was enough.

Even early next (Sunday) morning the speed was still only 690KBps and 290KBps, so still far short of what we pay for or find useful.

Being a Sunday I used their Chat service, and well, their staff were even slower than their broadband service. An overseas connection with poor comprehension of written English and a reliance on what must be their own toolbox of instant 'stock' questions and answers.

No further forward so I'll be changing supplier and registering a formal complaint with OFCOM.

Customer service is practically non existent. It is based in India. It is pot luck if you get a person that speaks English;or understands what the problem is. The broadband speed keeps getting cut back.Though they deny this.It will return to normal for a short while after complaining, then revert back to going slow. It is a matter of a firm being to large to empathise with the people who supply their income. Will be changing.

I'm making this review because people satisfied with the service rarely post.
I am happy with the service, £28 a month for 76mbps is £10 less than what everyone else charges.
once you get your port forwarding sorted out (VPN recommended), the supply is adequate.
7MB/s for the same price as what other providers charge for 3.5MB/s

Have been with TT a few years. Everything goes tits up if there is a problem. Customer services tell you there is no problem on the line. You then have to get annoyed an threaten to leave TT and they then escalate the problem. Technical support normally then sends you a new router, which has never been the problem yet. (I have two brand new ones unopened) They then accept there is a problem somewhere on the line and send an engineer. Total downtime around a week! They have done that three times now. Two of those three times were because a BT engineer working in the street side box had removed wires.

As a service provider TT are a non starter, the package was cheap but the support is beyond a joke. All support is offshore, most can't be understood or understand what you are saying, their technical expertise is non-existent and their co-ordination between reps is even worse if that is possible.

Yesterday had an email then a call from someone calling themselves a CEO who said she was there to sort out my problems, she was patronising condescending, aggressive and downright rude.

I am now locked into an 18 month contract now and expect pure hell.

Advice - NEVER EVER consider this rotten money grabbing organisation...

This is my rating for moving house and staying with Talktalk!!! As you can see, I do not rate them. I have been waiting over a month to have a connection. We waited for an engineer but had a text to say the account is cancelled. This was on the day the engineer was due. I had to phone up Talktalk to find out why, I was passed to at least five departments none of whom could explain properly. I was put on hold and messed around and the call had to last 1hr 20 mins before I got told that it would be connected at the end of Feb16. Still no guarantee this would be up and running properly. A waste of space and the worst customer service I have ever come across!!!!!

There`s really only one way to describe talk talk `broadband`.. Downright awful, reminiscent of `dial up` download speed (average over 1 month) 2.86gb.. cuts in and out going off completely on a minute by minute basis... I pay (not for long!) £25.67p p/m for this...Avoid at all costs!

Spent weeks complaining about poor broadband performance, both written and alongside over 7 hours of telephone conversations to customer service and technical teams. Eventually the tech team indicated they couldn't resolve the issue so, as I'm entitled to do, I switched provider. Plusnet have been awesome, all issues disappeared the moment they took over the line. However, Talktalk have come for their pound of flesh and are demanding exit fees with menaces. I can't be bothered to deal with the agro of the markers they've threatened to put on my credit history so reluctantly paying up.

You only find out just how good a provider is when something goes wrong, and when something goes wrong with TalkTalk they really are dreadful with dealing with customer problems if our experience is anything to go by. Don't be fooled by the slick promises on the website and be prepared to be frustrated by automated phone centres then having to speak to ill informed advisors situated in foreign lands giving conflicting advice. Will be transferring to another provider as soon as possible.

I have been a loyal customer to Talktalk for over 7 years.
Recently upgraded to fast fibre, My point is when there are no issues or problems Talktalk are ok but they are rubbish when you have an issue of any kind , it took 5 months to resolve a line issue, and then over a week to sort out an e-mail problem. Their customer service dept needs a massive shake up or this company will never get any better, having overseas customer operators whose first language is not english may be cheep but I don't think it is working for them. I am now considering moving to another provider.

My monthly charge was increased to %50+ and I decided to change providers Feb 27. 2023.I am way over the contract period. I found a new price of £22+ per month. Next day TT phoned from their Manchester office offering the same price but £100 compensation, upgrade to fastest speed and unlimited phone. I accepted as they control my email.
14th March an engineer from Kelly Comms arrived and I let him in. This involved a 140 mile trip. He left after fixing the connection in the street box and said it would take 20 minutes to come on. After 90 minutes the phone and Internet didn't work. Back to my other address to use another phone and i phoned Manchester to report it not working both on phone and Internet. The operator said my new account had stuck and they would try to fix it. Two weeks later still not working. Called Manchester again and told they had cleared problems and it would now work. South African office called to check my phone number and correct the account details. The account is all correct. Every time I call, despite being on the account they insist on me reading my details and password etc.
Two more weeks and still no phone line or Internet. Also the £100 compensation is not into my account but it's an American token system where I get a virtual £100 on my phone, but this doesn't work either because it won't accept the codes that they email.
I decided to cancel 3rd April and Manchester can't do it so connects me to a man with an Indian accent. He can't cancel without taking all my details including the new account number three times and putting me on hold 3x over half an hour. In the end I told him that I would stop the DD and he then said I would have to contact them again to check the cancellation had gone through. This will take me beyond the 10 days they said I had to cancel without charges. They then sent an email threatening to take me to court if I didn't pay subsequent charges and this would affect my credit worthiness.
After reading other reviews here, I am convinced that the customers are being given the run around in order to make maximum profit. Please report this to Ofcom.

Worst Broadband provider for customer service and use. Multiple drop outs, speed restrictions and the router connection being intentionally disconnected by their system at certain times. Despite multiple conversations the foreign call centre staff still can't grasp the concept Speed isn't total data usage over time! I am on in their own words an unlimited uncapped plan, yet I'm told on numerous occaisions when my connection or streaming stops or i lose connection completely that I have exceeded my data usage for the month because I have downloaded or streamed too much. They state over 30gb-60gb etc in that period. My plan is stated as uncapped and unlimited so they are lying and are too stupid to understand they are openly admitting it. My download speed is limited to 5-6mb/s and I live alone and only stream one device at a time in 1080p HD max so there shouldn't be any issues at all speed wise no matter how much data I've used over a month a day a min or a year! A watchdog governing body needs to stop them doing this and misleading customers illegally. I signed a legally binding contract for 'unlimited' 'uncapped' broadband and are breaking the law by capping my usage. Do not ever use this company if you have a choice.

Fed up with poor internet connections and forever having to try and fix problems myself, re booting, re setting, all on the advice of talk talk none of which works,i wanted an engineer to come and see if he could sort it out but they wanted £50 to send out the engineer simply not good enough as far as i'm concerned if the services i buy from Talktalk aren't working they should sort them out but they just not interested, customer services in some far off land with poor grasp of English, i have a you view box which takes 4 mins from switching my TV on until i get a picture on the screen! tried all the self fixes from Talktalk, basically its a joke they obviously use cheap equipment and when things go wrong don't want to know, everything about this company is slow and useless, i'm in the process of going back to BT can't wait.

I have been with this company many years. As of late I have had a need to contact them over an issue with their mail service. ALL my folders were wiped clean including some important files I needed. Over the last 7 weeks despite my using their Chat (Joke) i have emailed them & done the dreaded phone call on 3 occasions. Each call lasting over 1 hour & ALL to no avail?? Their customer service is a complete joke & would be laughable if it wasn't so infuriating! I have had enough of this incompetent untrained agents & come my renewal ---I will be leaving this service for good!

Tried and tried to change date they take money from my account. Each time I am assured it has been sorted. Each month they take it earlier than asked. Wage is not in and I get charged £25 off my bank plus 12.50 from talk talk. Took this on because it's cheap broadband. It's cost me a fortune so far. Hopefully sorted now. Third time lucky. Will see on next months bill date.

If I could give the reliability and the speed a 0 I would, it is absolutely awful. Had an engineer come out and fix it and the speed we got worked well for a day or 2 which is why customer service is up, however the speed now is not even reaching 0.1 mb/s.

I would not use this crowd if it they were the only broadband/telephone provider, overseas telephone helpline, the usual hard to understand foreign person on the other end, do not ring you back when they say they will, I use Sky UK based helpline. do what they say they will. Says it all!

My installation day came and broadband failed to initiate. after trying to get me to be a technician and take a screwdriver to the bt box i declined and cancelled my service. 5 weeks later and they still have me as active and trying to charge me. they took £35.11 in january and want £85 to cancel account as a good-will gesture. each time i point out i had cancelled on day of installation they say the call was cut off and so no action taken. when i ask what more is there to say when i ring to cancel? then they try blaming sky who i was going to return to. but after having problems with talktalk taking over the line i said to not bother and i have now gone with virgin. not cheapest but i have no stress and everything works as it should.

everyone i spoke to claimed to be a manager but then insisted i need speak to different department to cancel. today (using their online chat) i was transferred to 5 different sections, had to go through security questions for each one and had to assume what was meant as their typed english was more like google translate than fluent.
if this was the nigerians it would be closed down by now. its a wonderful scam. all you need is provide a 2bit service and have thick skin and no conscience when the complaints roll in. then over charge cancellations, accidentally taking same payment 3 or more times and then taking an an age to return less then half of overpayments taken.

please please read these reviews and avoid like the plague.

We decicided to try talk talk out after visiting u switch the price 18.45 pcm for up to 17mb sounded reasonable

My problem is my internet speed and stability from reading other customers reviews a lot of what they say is true also

The engineer from Kelly communications installed the service to the house he did not check the line for a dial tone his phone was broke lucky for me my farther 20 years experience working for bt checked the line and wiring around the house .

The cooling off period of 20 days starts from the day you booked the service on line after I was installed I had 3 days left of my cooling off period we phoned up to complain as we felt 3daya was not enough time review the service or time for the router to stablies the company try to upgrade is to fiber for a extra 8 pound a month saying that they promis better reliable speeds . I phoned the on the last day of my cooling off period and place a cancellation after 5 times in a polite manner asking to cancel they got the message . Now I have to give 30 days notice and I am out of this problem .

I would recommend going with a company like sky or virgin or maybe plus net. You pay more but you get better service

Don't make the mistake other have and learn from our complaints .
