Bunch of idiots. BB went down so spoke to customer service who done nothing to help other than tell to restart router and call back. I help for 25 minutes and gave up. Called again a few days later and said they'd be back in contact with me. Still heard nothing and that was a week ago. The woman I spoke to didn't even sound like she knew what fibre is. Just avoid and save your time. Bob the builder will be able to fix it quicker

no stars as did all reading up about them, spoke to them on the phone to ask a few questions, then phoned next day only to find that they would only supply the service if you had a phone line already, I had established that this was not required, then they moved the goalposts, although the offer was not supposed to end till 16/9, I wasted hours on this for nothing.

It took eight weeks for them to install BB, after many phone calls & promised dates I had about given up then hey presto my BB connected but they forgot to tell me!! They offered a little compensation but the the size of my mobile phone bill it doesn't do justice, my opinion don't bother, cheaper is not always the best

Don't bother. Signed up for the deal in mid October and still wasn't connected 5 weeks later! Customer service takes an age to get through to, very pleasant when you finally succeed, but couldn't give a time scale when problems would be rectified by. I'll be leaving as soon as possible.

They dont install at weekend and told me to have a day oFf work if I wanted there services installed.

After waiting 8 weeks for installation the broadband DOESNT work NOW I finally have it Installed.

I have contacted them 5 times on each occasion I was told the person dealing with the issues will ring me.
She rang twice on 2 separate days I missed the calls.... Yet I was informed by SSE the lady would ring me back 3 times a day untill she gets hold off me. They haven't done this!!

Nearly a week later and no issue been sorted no contact from sse and still no broadband I rang the 6th TIME to be told I can't just cancel with them i have to cancel it through the lady dealing with the case.WHO I CAN'T GET HOLD OFF!!!!

AWFULL SERVICE MY PHONE BILL IS HIGHER then the broadband cost DUE TO BEING ON HOLD TO THEM FOR ATLEAST 35MINITS EACH TIME I TRY TO CONTACT THEM.

Worst customer service I have ever had wouldn't recommend them to anyone
    DON'T USE SEE!!!

Awful experience, made online application to switch from BT, received confirmation emails and allowed me set up online account. nothing happened for 2 weeks, contacted customer services and they don't have a record of my online application even though I have received 3 emails from them to confirm my application. customer services promised to contact me back after checking with their sales department over a week not heard from them, called to their complaints department same answer and advised to either stay with BT or start process again which will take 4 weeks. when questioned about emails I was asked to forward emails and waiting for the reply now but I have absolutely no confidence in them and I know that nothing can be done with my complaint.
They wasted my time and meanwhile my BT contract finished so they started charging me full price and every time I called to speak to them its more than 20 minutes waiting time to speak to some one and by the time you finish your call its 40 minutes.
based on my experience I wouldn't recommend.

1st day broadband, had to call sse yesterday waited 25 mins to talk to someone. Had to call again today waited 25 minutes to be told i would have to wait in a q to talk to an engineer, after complaining i was told the engineer would call me back. Sure enough within an hour i got called back,I answered phone a robot voice told me what a valued customer I was then put me on the end of a q, waited a little while and gave up. I have just left post office, after 18 month cost went from £18 to £27.50 so changed but post office answered my calls within minutes i would recommend to anybody. Sse absolutely useless.

Some time ago, SSE was a decent and reputable company. Sadly, since its absorption into the OVO empire, it has sunk to being a worthless cowboy outfit. Their opening "Welcome to frustration free broadband" is an invitation to a world of unparalleled annoyance, broken promises, cavalier treatment and frustration seemingly without limits.

It took two months for these wretched people to establish a useable phone connection. I spent more than £70 (unrefunded)in mobile charges having almost daily conversations with SSE people, one of whom was excellent, the many others merely purveyors of platitudinous apologies and promises to "sort things" which were not fulfilled - over four months later, there continue to be irritating internet drop-outs. A three-page account of the many contacts had with SSE personnel and a covering letter to the manager of the Bristol office has received no response. This of course, comes as no surprise; it is typical of the disdain which the staff of this awful company treat those unfortunate to be conned into buying their fifth-rate service.

It is a pity that so few people seem to read these accounts before committing themselves to a contract with SSE. If more heeded these warnings, it might put this bunch out of business to the benefit of many.

switched to sse 1 month ago still being charged by BT, received no live date or any info other than initial confirmation given the run around by customer services. then told had to reorder (after 2 weeks & did not explained why). been over a week since last call and still nothing. the whole reason for switching in the 1st place was to avoid the doubling of my BT bill since end of my contract.

There's a lot of bad postings about SSE Broadband so I will add my 10 pence so far with a caveat that performance may vary for others.

SSE are a new broadband entrant using Daisy wholesale to provide their service. I'm not that confident they are the best when it comes round to knowing the technicalities and issues with providing a reliable service. I signed up for their Superfast fibre broadband service with maximum expected speed limited by my short copper line to the fibre box of 70-74 Mb/S. I was happy with that promise if it could be met 'most of the time' even though by Ofcom definition, it is probably Ultrafast, but that is my max line speed.

I've been struggling with low download speeds for a while at half the expected speed on tests and actual file downloads miserably slow and worse than ADSL! If you complain, SSE want you to do BT Wholesale speed tests. That seemed reasonable but in my case I was getting really strange results. I also used the ThinkBroadband tests which I think are representative.

It's a pretty techi subject but my first tests were done on a high end WIN7-64 PC. I repeated the same download tests on an old XP box and got much better figures. The problem of slow download speeds can be settings in your PC not the ISP and from what I've read is more likely with WIN7 and older.

Now I've fixed both PC's my SSE download speeds on both are 72-74Mb/s and a 50 Mb file is downloading at 4Mb/S. SSE did not change anything!

Before you complain or post your anger, I'd suggest borrowing a newish PC or laptop if you are running an older Windows PC. Of course you should also connect your test pc directly to their router and reboot both before testing. You should also disable your AV, firewall and other stuff that might slow the test down.

Terrible. NO STARS. I applied for 'fix & fibre' on October 24th 2019 when I completed purchase of a new flat. I was advised it would be 2 weeks as no phone line.
After many calls, emails, FB messages to customer services over the next few weeks and constant requests from them to supply postcode and 'we'll get back to you in 5 days' which they never did, I finally, early December, got a reply from a customer service agent.
I dealt with a very helpful agent who informed me that for some reason my order had been repeatedly cancelled. She tried to reinstate it but it got cancelled again.
To cut a long story short, I told her not to bother anymore and went elsewhere. She promised me £30 compensation to close the case.
By early February, this had not turned up. I emailed her twice but no answer so either she has left the company or it's now well outside her ability to do anything.
I have submitted a formal complaint. The response was 'we'll get back to you in 5 days'.
Still no reply 2 weeks later and still no compensation.
Meanwhile, they have garbaged my address to a different place up the road and it is only thanks to the postie that a couple of things - including a router sent AFTER I cancelled everything with them turned up. I don't know whether the compensation went to this garbled address and got snaffled by whoever lives there or whether it has never been sent.
I do not understand why they have the correct address for the electricity supply (about which I have no problems - yet) but a garbaged address for the broadband element.
Let me be clear, I do NOT WANT their broadband now having had so many problems, and am very happy with my new provider.

only joined just under a month ago, I emailed them through there online form to complain about my speeds on the 28th of june 14 days after i was connected. I was estimated 55mbps download and this drops to under 7mbps in the evenings, as of today the 6th of July still no response and just tried to contact them by phone again and was on hold for over 15mins without speaking to anyone . I give up .stay well away from this broadband supplier and don't be tempted by the cheap prices , I admit I was but just not worth the hassle .
