Too many dropped connections to be acceptable. I also note that since we notified Sky of the cancellation of the service, dropped connections have increased dramatically in number.

I have been with O2 for few years, using their up to 8mb unlimited service. That was a excelant service Have been so happy with the reliability of this service that I avoided switching to any other provider
Just recently Nov 2013, O2 sold their broadband customers including my own, to SKY. Thats when the problems started. I do not trust SKY from previous dealings but thought I would give them a go! big mistake I may add.

sky started to charge me not having phone not having tv also service very poor.
When I requested cancel, they started by threatening me of a 12months contractual agreement that I never signed with them. They claim that by allowing the switch from O2 to SKY that I had no control over, and if I wanted to leave they ask me to pay £59.for not getting service.
please dont go with them if do you will add unessasary problemto your life

This is the worst bradoband service i have ever used. Even poor is the customer service. These guys made me wait for 20days to get a new connection whereas promised to get the connection up and running in 7days.

After getting connection there was some problem with the line and also with the router they provided. And when i complained about those in no way ther were ready to listen to me. However, when i kept on bugging them for almost 10-15 days they send one engineer to check the line found its their fault.

My receommendation to anyone whoever wants to have internet and thinking about sky, please dont do that. Instead use the 3G service provided by any other mobile operator. that will far more better than sky.

    Good luck.

Week 13-Not really(only speradic small annoyances)had much of an problem before receiving my small Wirless box that feeds the 'On demand' which was offered to me when I called for something else. Well the 'On demand' never downloaded &/or took days to download a short programme let alone a film.It also completelty slowed down the internet & kept dropping out when it did connect(unusable).Told to jump through hoops to get it working by their tech people only to have the phone disconnected many times & never spoke the same person or even the call centre when I called back. When I made a complait a helpful individual took ownership of my issues & though for a few weeks still went by we were getting somewhere, now 13 weeks later I have had to keep the phone socket off the wall & plug phone line into the inside of socket which prevents the upstairs phone from working just to temp resolve the issue. They evntually sent out a BT engineer(by own admission was not Broadband experienced)he said nothing was wrong with the phone line(which I knew) & that it could only be the Sky equipment(which I knew) & since December no-one from the Sky has responded to any of my emails...really dissappointed & undervalued as a customer....What do I do!! Aaaaargh!

I have been with O2 for few years, using their up to 8mb unlimited service. Have been getting around 6.5 to 7.2mb download speed and true unlimited, uncontrolled downloads. Have been so happy with the reliability of this service that I avoided switching to BT infinity even though I loved the idea of 78mb speed. I did have occasional issues with streaming videos, but not significant to leave O2.

Just recently Nov 2013, O2 sold their broadband customers including my own, to SKY. Thats when the problems started. I do not trust SKY from previous dealings but thought I would give them a go! big mistake I may add.

They started by trying to sell me additional stuff that I did NOT need or want. Then they told me that I am getting a good deal on their usual monthly charges by more than doubling my subscription charge. I would not have minded paying extra for an honest provider with a good service. I would have paid O2 the extra money should they have asked, in reality they even gave me a discount few years back (£4.75 monthly charge).

I immediately noticed variation in speed. I then checked the speed and found that I am getting from 0.5 - 2.2mb. All that has changed is the provider, nothing else physical has changed. They restricted access to P2P sites.

When I requested my MAC code, they started by threatening me of a 12months contractual agreement that I never signed with them. They claim that by allowing the switch from O2 to SKY that I had no control over, I have in fact agreed to stay with SKY for 12 months. Ha Ha Ha, thats how I reacted (see you in court!!!).

I have now taken action to switch back to BT and give them a second chance. I am expecting to pay £27.00 per month now, but will gladly pay that just to get rid of SKY.

Lets hope they live up to their promises, otherwise am out of there also. There are lots of options out there I people should reward honest providers by joining them and avoiding SKY at all costs.

Been with them since February 2013 and speed has been an issue, paying for 7mbps and only getting less that 1mbps, even on off peak.I was fed up complaining, Phoning and commenting of the help form.I have got no where. Every time i complained it was with someone new, And i had to explaining my self over and over and over. Than the would ask if i did all the checks, I told them where to go.What i found out was BT wholsale is main supplier and other company's, Sky, TalkTalk,EE all only get so much bandwidth. Ive been paying £30 a month for 8 moths for nothing. I am now leaving them to go back to BT.

were guaranteed by customer services that speed would be between 5 and 8mbps, it very rarely goes above 3mbps. contacted customer services about it and was kept waiting over 2 hours and their only solution was to send an engineer to replace wiring in the house, told them they were not doing that, then they said it was because the router was not connected to the main telephone connection when it actually was correctly connected. left it about a week, then contacted them again and they said they would try and step up the connection. to be fair it did rise and stayed above 5mbps for maybe 3 days before completely dropping again. would not recommend to anyone

I was originally with Be internet, and was very happy eith them, but they just took way too long to upgrade to fibre, which they still not done.

So I waited and heard about sky fibre.

I contacted them via their web chat, asked a ton of questions, and after a good talk decided to try them.

They made changing over very easy, did most of the work for me, took me through the sign up process too.

Now I have been with sky since 08/may/2013.

{I do get a little down time once every now and then, think longest was 2 hours, which I called them, and by time I got through to them, and started to ask them to check line etc, it came back on.

I do get the odd quick time out, say a few minutes and notice my ip has changed, so I am guessing it their hardward refreshing all the ip address's, which is quite normal when on a dynamic ip.

I would say I have a 98% to 99% uptime, and service is usually always fast too.

I have used it to run a shoutcast stream to secondlife, a web server, downloaded heavily, watched so many hd clips and concerts off youtube, all with no problems.

My only one real gripe is that they won't allow thier customers to have their details for the router, so your stuck with the one they provide, so home networks are limited speed wise.

But overall I am very happy with my service.
