I gave a score of one across the board only because you can' give a zero.
Despite the £100 compensation I have had so far I can't wait until the end of my contract.

    Do not waste your money!
Very poor provider and you either get poor speeds or no connection at all. I have contacted the post office many times only to keep getting the same answers like do a speed check etc. but you can't do a check when there is no internet. My current speed is 0.34mbs download and 0.53mbs upload. Please avoid buying this product/service as you will be extremely disappointed.

DONT BOTHER, ive only been online 2 days, got 256kb second yesterday afternoon and evening, says upto 8meg! next to useless. unable to access any sites of 18 years age or older access required, looking at VPN sites in order to bypass but unable to look at them either
As for 2 weeks cooling off period, its from when you click order, not 2 or more weeks later when you plug in your router. USELESS, I should have read reviews before.

Recently browsing for a cheap broadband service I decided to sign up with the Post Office - unbelievably without checking their reviews. After signing up and having the engineer booked,I rather belatedly read them which sent me into a blind panic! Straight away I decided to cancel installation and sign up with a more expensive and therefore I thought better quality broadband provider. It was my step-daughter who pointed out that people only tend to leave bad reviews and only a very small minority take the time to leave a positive one with regards to this sort of thing.SO! I went ahead and I have to say that I have experienced nothing but a 5* service - from the initial organisation and communication regarding initial installation to the customer services team (I had to call twice for some advice) and now the broadband connectivity and speed. I was prompted to leave this review by my step daughter - a technically savvy city manager, who, having just stayed with us and working from home (in a very rural cottage somewhere in the Herefordshire countryside) declared that our post office broadband was just as good as her more expensive provider and she didn't experience any lull in speed or connection and is considering transferring to them!
In short, I am over the moon and if I had taken any notice of these bad reviews I'd now probably be paying twice as much!

Months of slow speed, and monthly complaints. The people at the call centre had different excuses, slow Wifi, I had to input several lines of code to get internet speeds, then I was told of a site that would measure it automatically, but I had to do it several times a day. Told to phone in results. Incomprehension!
i.e. told a load of nonsense.
Eventually they admitted they couldn't give me a useable speed and advised me to transfer to Plusnet. They said there would be no cancellation fee.
Now I find they have taken £190 out of my account twice this month.
Phoned them, deepest apologies and they will refund.
This whole episode has been a disgrace.
What a shambles PO Telecommunications is. Outrageously bad.

Cheap and cheerful - steady 15-16 Mb speed, rarely loses service, reliable router. Customer service promptly dispatched a replacement when my first router was killed by a lightning storm.
Note that I live in an urban location with good infrastructure and live alone so I don't put my connection under any strain.

After experiencing no internet from the minute off alleged switch on. We phoned the post office to ask for help.

    We were.
    Fobbed off
    Treated poorly
    Mistreated
    Poorly advised

After a month of no service we had no option but to request a cancellation if this none existent service.

You can’t cancel we were advised and the rude advisors from the Royal Mail were nothing short of useless and rude.

After over 30 phone calls. More than one a day for a month we managed to get the service cancelled.

But believe me that was not easy. We had threats of charges of £700 for breaking contracts.

The help and support was shocking. Only stating we will be complaining to the ombudsman saw some action to have this service cancelled

My advice. Avoid the Royal Mail. It’s not the trustworthy company of old. It’s now cut throat and ruthless.

Avoid PostOffice Broadband at all costs. I have only been with them one month, and already my broadband speed has dropped from 8Mbs to 1.6Mbs. Their technical department keep contradicting their instructions t me and they are asking me to conduct tests that should have been carried out when the fault first developed. I wish I had never left my last ISP! I will be contacting OFCOM if things aren't sorted quickly.

Extremely rude customer care staff. My mother was supposed to go live in the early afternoon with the landline and broadband but till 6pm there was still no connection. After calling technical support not only were they unable to do anything but not understanding and unprofessional. They even refused to put the phone down out of fear of the call going onto the survey. We have to wait till midnight to see if we get connection or have been told to call at 8am, until then we have do not even have a landline connection!

Was with Fuel Broadband who were the best provider I've ever been with. Post Office bought the service. On the day the switch happened my speed dropped from the stable 14.6Mb I ALWAYS had, to 6-8Mb. I contacted them and they claimed that I could only get 8.5Mb. I told them that was a lie and what I got with Fuel, but they would not relent and told me I should have checked before joining them!!! I told them it was for them to tell me what speed to expect, not the other way around. Move on a few months, I've had to call out Engineers numerous times due to the line going dead. PO claim it's my equipment. Engineers say all is fine with my equipment, but PO keep saying it's my equipment, so they send me a new router, but fault still remains. 'It's your socker', no it's BRAND NEW!! They have also been only reporting the faults to OpenReach as basic line faults, so the Engineer can't do a full investigation! STAY WELL AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!

So I got mine. I was dubious, but I am a bit cheap! I had read reviews and was a little worried. But it’s been fine. They said I’d get between 5 and 12 mb. I’m getting 10. I’m happy with that. Suits my family perfect. It’s hasnt dropped at all. All for £19 a month. All I would say is their customer service isn’t the fastest. I sent a query, took a week to get back to me and it was a very robotic answer. All in all though if you want cheap standard broadband, this fits the bill for me.

Not worth any stars . Said they were updating me to superbroadband. Lost connection on switchover day. Phoned several times got told to do lots of things still did not work told to wait till next day. Still not working got told to do checks again eventually said they would send an engineer out between 8 and 1 the next day and if I wasn’t in it would cost me £140. Nobody turned up. Given another date for 9th April, however luckily I was in as the engineer turned up two days early. Said there was no way I could get the new internet as my property was connected to the wrong type of box not the one which had the new fibre cable. Phoned post office once again who said they needed to send somebody else out. Engineer was still on sight so handed the phone to him to explain. Lots of holding on while different people were spoken to to be told that I couldn’t get the new service and couldn’t go back to the old one. They then told me I would have to change provider. Have only been with them for a few months and it took them 5 weeks to connect the service in the first place.. they should have looked into the service to see if it was compatible with their customers. Laughable they are still sending me texts telling me to be in on the 9th when an engineer will call despite the fact they have had to terminate my contract. Avoid them at all costs do not live up to their promises. And this stupid form asks for an email address I have no bloody internet thanks to you!,,

Never use the post office broadband service, abysmal from start to finish.
Poor connection throughout, so much so they waved my early exit fee......or did they?!
Promises of the early exit fee being waved resulted in £172 being taken from my account 'in error'. Now the 3-5 working day wait for my money to be returned.
The WORST service I have received in a very long time

Do never get in touch with this company. I used to be with fuel and post office took it over without saying me anything. With fuel was 20 pounds a month but post office charged me over 30 pounds (for 12 mb) a month changing my contract without informing me. When I called them they only said its because i am on opened account. What is it??? They said I have no contract. How could i not have contract if i was in contract with fuel and they took me over???? Don't understand....
They charged me for months like this

Laughably bad. I'm not one to write reviews or moan but post office broadband has been so bad I thought I'd try and spare someone else the ordeal. Mine has never worked & after 2 months despite (& I'm not joking) 229 emails, 20 calls, several letters & many social media post/requests no one has REPLIED, let alone fixed my problem. I know big companies can't please every customer but this is just silly. It's cheap but is obviously being run into the ground by its staff! I wish I just paid a pound more each month for someone at least mildly reliable.

Worst broadband and customer service ever! It took three weeks to get the broadband to work and the phone. I did not get the £75 amazon vouchers as promised by the website. I had two have two technicians in my house to fixed the fault which was after all that it turned out that the fault was outside the house and could have been fixed without having to have a technician coming to us. Operators were not helpful at all and the experience with the post office has been a disaster. It is not yet over!

I DO NOT recommend this provider at all. Their customer service is appalling. I ordered an extra item for my landline ad was told by them it would take 72 hours to be activated. Nothing happened so I rang back and was told it could take up to 10 days so I waited again, nothing, on 15th day I rang again and was told there was no record of my item order so I cancelled it. Next day I get an email from them saying they've added the item to my bill...!!!! Absolutely appalling customer service and can't wait to end of contract to leave. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Recently service failed entirely, mainly due to a fault in network from 2012 never rectified by BT which caused very much noise on the phone line and erratic broadband. Customer service, in Scotland I believe so no language problem, handled my complaint ccompetantly and soon raised a ticket for faults to be handled by BTOpenReach. A day or so later, I was visited, by appointment, by a BT engineer who replaced the 50-year-old wiring and the master socket. Results: crystal clear phone reception and double the Broadband speed. An excellent outcome thought I.

The worst service I've ever used since the advent of broadband. Many a time there were vivid reminders of the dark days of 56k dialup with pages loading in minutes, downloads speeds in single digits and customer service that don't give two hoots. Unreliable in the extreme. It's talktalk disguised as a reputable company.

I was switched from fuel broadband to post office broadband when the buyout happened. I assumed that only the name of the provider would change but I was so wrong! Speed is up and down, never as fast or as stable as Fuel Broadband was. I was assured it was due to my area, that no one would be able to provide me better speed. Switched to BT and happy again. Do not try Post office!

I applied for PO broadband as a result of the 17mb offer. Once installed I was getting between 2mb and 6mb. After repeated contacts with so called engineers I looked for another service. I chose Talktalk . The PO insisted that Talktalk could not better their speed. Guess what, I'm now getting between 35mb and 45mb.
What ever you do don't go with Post Office, their service and product is rubbish !

We were recently offered a free upgrade to fibre from standard broadband to the end of our contract. Looking at the mostly terrible reviews we were doubtful. However so far it has been very successful with download speeds at the lower limit promised. We did lose Wifi once but this was quickly sorted with the help of their technicians.

21st March, 2018 VERY IMPORTANT...there IS a getout clause! This will be of help to many people currently itching to get away from this shower...by the way, Post Office broadband is owned by TalkTalk...that goes some way to explaining why the service is chronic. There's a ruling stating that if prices rise during your contract, you have the right to cancel and close your contract within a month of being notified. I have been saddled with them for 6 months, with the dread prospect of facing another 18 months. Thankfully, they decided to raise the price of the phone aspect of my package by £1 a month...FANTASTIC! Thank you TalkTalk, you've just given me the tool I needed to quit! I phoned yesterday, and gave them their marching orders, and immediately phoned Plusnet, the best provider ever, and reinstated our 12 month contract....with great joy and satisfaction. Don't delay...phone them and close your contract as a result of increases.

Long-time and long-suffering Unlimited Broadband customer. Speed has never been good (apparently we are a "long way" from the exchange - 5360 metres) and despite line tests, re-setting of ports, new routers etc, service is at best patchy and certainly not reliable.

For goodness sakes, whatever you do, DO NOT sign up with Post Office Broadband. It is absolutely useless..period. I have been stuck with them now for 6 months, and I'll be shackled to them for another 18 months, sadly. I have phoned on 7 occasions, complaining about the constant internet crashing, which happens at more or less the same times every day. I have been fobbed off with numerous different excuses as to why that should be, and as a matter of fact I have just come off the phone to them, during which time I mentioned that I had signal dropout 3 times in the last hour...she checked her data, said that this was not the case, and stopped short of calling me a liar. I was transferred to a cancellation receptionist at my request. She told me that they have no duty to provide wi-fi under the contract...only broadband, so I ask you...what good is broadband without the wi-fi? I was informed that if I wanted to leave, I'd have to pay them £153 for early termination. I will be taking the matter further with the ombudsman, but in the meantime...AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. If you want reasonably priced and totally reliable broadband (and working wi-fi). go to Plusnet. I wish we'd never left them.

Very poor. They cancelled my initial order having misunderstood my requirements, then for the follow-up charged a connection fee and claimed an engineer needed to visit. I took a day off work to wait, only to be told that this wasn't then required because
a line was already at the property - which, you've guessed it, I knew and had informed them of for the initial order that they then cancelled. I complained at losing a day's leave from work for no reason and was offered £5 in compensation. (Yes, £5. That wasn't a typo.) I originally ordered and chose to pay line rental up-front to reduce the cost - that wasn't processed - and also went through a cashback website. They refused to honour the cashback because the order was cancelled - this is true, but it was cancelled and re-ordered by them. To top it all off, the broadband speed is very poor - although to its credit its fairly reliable. Overall, 1 star rating is being generous.

I have been with the Post Office for years because it is the cheapest package for calls. Broadband is reliable but very slow - less than 2mbs and half that of neighbours who are with other providers. I won compensation via the Ombudsman but no improvement. They just say I am out of contract and free to go.

A nice black box with Post office written on the front, a green on light and a flashing WLAN light that you can look at for hours and hours....and that's it really no internet connection. Do not get involved with these clowns.

I have already left a review but unfortunately I have had to contact these people again today. I was dreading it. Well here's the good news. I put down my mobile as the best contact and they phoned me not on my mobile but on my landline (pure fluke I was in) then I got put on hold as they couldn't actually do it due to technical difficulties surprise, surprise. I finally got through myself (as usual hanging on and on and on and I was told it was £37 to keep my old number (moving a few miles down the road) and then they told me that my current 'cheap' contract becomes null and void as I am moving and I would have to renegotiate a new one surprise, surprise. I opted to take a 12 month one at £4 a month extra so I could get away from these parasites ASAP. Now for the bad news (as above :-(

Total rubbish. Avoid them like the plague Good points(1) Rude Customer Service, (2) Rude and Inflexible Customer Service, (3) Lied to me on the phone, (4) Didn't call back when they promised to, (5) Even though they made the mistake they told me it would cost me £264 to come out of my contract. Now let me get onto their bad points ...

Have had Post Office Broadband for 30 days now. Have never seen a download speed in excess of 2.1Mbs (It's often under 100kbs/s!). There have been frequent dropouts (no broadband!) since the first 10 days. The only time I've seen results that match the advertised speed is when I do a speedcheck, though on the last occasion it returned a download speed of zero Mb/s. Good price rubbish product.

The staff on the phone are shocking I have a voice mail from a "manager" stating he would reduce my bill on the contract due to being messed about for nearly 2 months then when I called to disguss he point blank refused to talk to me I then used my brothers details to trick him and he was rude to me Post office Internet is not what you want!! Shocking service.. very few of the staff have given me the correct information.. WHY DO THEY ALLOW THEIR STAFF TO LIE!! I'M NOW RAKING LEGAL ACTION AS I'M STILL NOT LIVE!!

If I could put a 0 as a star RATING I would this is by far the worst internet provider I have ever come across I am in the process of a dispute with the OMBUDSMAN regarding the speed of the internet and unfortunately it appears that the Post Office have won the decision is that they don't need to rectify the problem of the SPEED which IS VERY VERY SLOW DISTGUSTING DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY don't believe what they tell you it is a ploy to get you signed up they did not deliver I am not happy with this company and I DO NOT recommend them to anybody stay away from them!!!
