I have spent many months now trying to resolve an issue with my broadband which impacts my business significantly, not least because my business phone line remains dead despite many hours spent on the phone to Vodafone. The broadband is fast when it works. Other than that I have nothing positive to add. Many broken promises to fix/call me back/take ownership of the problem until it’s fixed and still, my business is being impacted very negatively by the lack of a functioning landline. I certainly wouldn’t recommend the service to anyone looking for reliability and a competent Customer Service team

I have been with Vodafone Broadband for over 4 years now and was happy until now.
If I look at all of 4 years, I had a good reliable service - until I didn't needed to contact them (help was needed as the connection went down for no apparent reason).
Their "technicians" and customer service agents - who couldn't care less whether I stay with them or not.
Therefore, I decided to move on.

Customer service is really bad - asked for cancellation, told to await contract end. Then was asked to pay for another month, as Vodafone requires additional 30 days for cancellation purposes. Awful experience

Not getting the speeds I pay for 50% of the time I'm on it. Customer service is ok but was told my speeds are in the limit I'm paying for by thier technical support team. Got the 60 meg deal getting speeds of average 25 meg. TV keeps buffing videos on tablets same as tv. End off contact I'm leaving.

I signed up in January online to the 76mb package, it was supposed to get actived on the 24th of January which then got pushed to the 4th of Feb, no biggy, then the router turned out to be faulty so I had to wait for a replacement and sent the other back, then when i finally got it plugged in turns out I'm on the 38mb package so I rang up to be told tomorow it'll change over, ring up tomorow and they say the operations team will ring you within 10 days. 10 days pass, no call, no email. A day later I get a text saying it'll upgrade within 24hours, it didn't. I keep ringing everyday to get told tomorow everytime and also thirty pound credit one time to compensate apparently. We're now 6 days past then and no upgrade, I called today to be told tomorow again, she also offered me thirty pound credit again to which I replied I'd already been offered that to which she replied that I haven't got that basically and she can't see any evidence of that ever being offer to me on the system. Seems abit of a joke to me, the customer service are friendly but nothing is gets done.

While checking out these reviews due to consistent drop-out of internet since upgrading to "Superfast 2" in February, I realised that potentially I am stuck in a loop as Vodafone continues to ignore there is actually an issue with Broadband service. I wrote this to the Vodafone UK Home facebook page: "Been with Vodafone BB for over 2 years now. Upgraded to 'Superfast 2' in February this year. After lots of confusion, it apparently kicked in. But, getting lots of drop out (any time of day). Got some very frustrated "on-line gaming" boys in the house having consistent interruptions to the internet service. Having had enough, was going to ring Vodafone today to discuss the issue and found these reviews online. Seems Vodafone is in denial about the "not fit for purpose" service. So, do I go down the talk to someone and get nowhere scenario? Do I decide to get out of the contract early and face a nasty disconnection fee (because Vodafone refuse to acknowledge problems with the internet/router)? Do I then go to the ombusdman and face a long drawn out "fight" to get out? Or do I (and my sons) grin and bear it until the contract runs out and find a new provider.". I then found a link to contact Vodafone CEO and within an hour of emailing him, he responded, I have had an email from customer service and now a message left on my answer machine. It pays to contact the CEO directly. Not sure of the outcome as it is early days but fingers crossed.

Absolute worst company I've had the pleasure of dealing with. Customer service doesn't know what it's doing at all. Was promised full fibre. Promised an engineer that didn't turn up although I took the day off to see him. Next time he went to wrong address. Finally after a month and a half of waiting with no internet told me I couldn't have full fibre. Rubbish.

Broadban is easy to connect and speed is good for my need but setting up broadband to meet needs of my family is a total nightmare! I with another provider I could connect to router in offline mode and I was able to set up individual time for each device which is impossible here and softwae is is user unfriednly and very primitive in comparison to other websites. I would not choose vodafone despite a good price if I knew that software is so bad.

Two home moves messed up. 18 months ago when I moved address they messed up the reconnect and left us without broadband for 6 weeks. They compensated with unlimited data on my mibile but that was not the service level I was expecting.
Fast forward to today and they have accidentally cut off my broadband a month early for a home move with no way to reconnect. Unlimited data again, but two of us working from home for at least two months now during COVID lockdown before they can even connect us again. Laughable incompetence.

Despite promising me that I could keep my landline number, I have lost it, and the combined forces of the Chief Execs offices at Vodafone and BT seem incapable of retrieving it. Vodafone have now agreed to compensate me. Do not believe them if they say you can keep your number. They will give you a new number and then have no interest in porting your old one.

I test when response is slow, often down to 10-12Mbps although the Vodafone app says all is well at 40. They say they will compensate for reduced speed but how do I prove it? The online help is a good contact point via the customer account page.

VF have been fine, right up to the point when I moved house. Gave them as much notice as possible....that is, I told them as soon as I had a completion date and I was given an activation date for the new property. On the date given I gave them a call only to find out that clearly the concept of someone moving house was too difficult for them to grasp, and rather than move my broadband they cancelled my entire contract. 4 departments and one hour later I was told the only thing they could do was to start a new contract, which they wouldn't rush through or compensate me for the errors on their part. So, off to another provider, thanks for nothing Vodafone

Previous person at my property used Vodafone. They cancelled their service and I joined. It took over a month, 3 different contracts (that Vodafone repeatedly cancelled without warning), endless hours on the phone to people who had no record of the previous calls, until we eventually got our broadband live. Wish I'd never tried to stick with them in the first place. They reassured me it would be easier and quicker to stay with them. Over that terrible changeover period, where they kept cancelling our contracts, in which we had no internet and had to tether off our phones while working from home, we were promised compensation. That never came. Cue more phone calls to a hapless support team. Finally they said they would give a lesser amount of compensation than previously promised. It was to be taken off our future bills. 3 months later, we're still getting billed the same amount. And now we'll have to try a few more hours on the phone to their support team. It. Never. Ends.

when the service was finally up and running it is very good, but beware the switch process was full of problems which took 6 weeks to rectify only after I had to do all the chasing to get Vodafone to do as they had promised. customer service was absolutely pathetic, and we were continually lied to. I would recommend that you consider another service provider

I've got the superfast 2 package and generally get good speeds of around 70+Mbps. This sounds great but Vodafone have traffic shaping in place and I get a lot of buffering issues when streaming. Haven't had issues with the big players like YouTube, Netflix, etc. but others services are impacted greatly especially during (and not limited to) peak hours. As soon as I connect to a VPN, I no longer have the buffering issues so definately Vodafone restricting the traffic. They do offer competitive pricing especially if you're a Vodafone mobile customer too, but not worth the pain of having to deal with buffering ruining a movie which shouldn't be expected with speeds of around 70M. Will definately be moving away when my contact ends.

Have had broadband with EE, TalkTalk, Plusnet and then decided to upgrade to Fibre for the first time with Vodafone on an 18 month contract. Now I keep having an issue with poor connection with a service that is suppose to be fibre and more bandwidth than my previous broadband providers and being a single user as I live alone and sharing the connection with no one and yet I keep getting poor connection or no connection messages on device and streaming service despite sharing with no one. I find the service very slow and poor at odd times during the day, weekends and evenings for a fibre broadband service and can't wait for contract to end.

We came across from Sky after seeing a good offer.
We have had nothing but trouble with them throughout this year.
1. The customer service was abhorrent. Worse than talktalk, worse than any other company I have dealt with. I was lied to repeatedly about speeds and why they weren’t taking the money out of my account, they openly called me a liar despite me showing them proof I was correct. Not just once, for five consecutive months. I was cut off each month despite proving each time they were wrong. It is difficult to describe how atrocious their reps are until you deal with them.
2. The speed is quite good, I like the way you can increase the broadband towards certain devices on the mobile phone app, however the range on the router is transient at best an can be very poor just ten feet away.
3. Their much self praised router isn’t the worst I’ve seen but it isn’t the most reliable I have had. It can be very annoying to have the internet drop out randomly for a few seconds.
We have changed over to another company the day our contract ended. Helped by the fact they were charging us more per month than we should have been.
I will never use them for broadband again.

The worst broadband provider ever. Avoid it at any cost!
I joined Vodafone on October 18th and immediately realised my broadband constantly drops, so called their technical support. Vodafone initially told me it takes up to 10 days for router to just itself so I should give them time i.e until October 28th. But 28th October came and gone and still the same issue.
The issue continued into November, and I kept calling their technical support with no result. Today is the December 4th and still I get disconnected at least 10 times a day, so finally decided to call their technical support for the last time before take it further and complain to Ofcom.

Recently changed to Vodafone for Broadband and landline. Broadband router WiFi signal is weak, devices that connected to my old BT Router didn't work until the Vodafone Router was moved. Broadband connection is fast when it works but drops out quite often. Land line charges are huge. The advertised cost is £23 per month. My last bill was over £70

The citifibre kids who came out only knew one way to install so no options were discussed for installing the equipment. It's less than ideal in a front bedroom on the middle floor in a room i seldom use. It's also impossible to get a wired connection from there so I'm reliant on a poor WiFi router. The Vodafone router is poor, at best. You'd hope that with 900Mb to play with you would get more than 70-80 at the wi-fi, in the same room, but no. Occasionally it goes above 80, into the 150's but not often. 1 floor up this page is struggling to load now. A friend once had gig fibre and he was getting 800+ on wi-fi... Not so here, which means that the fibre was probably broken on install and the router isn't good at dealing with it.
Poor. Stay away.

Swapped from BT infinity 2, as the vodaphone was a lot cheaper.
Had lots of connection issues especially on mobile devices.
Speed very good at router (66Mb/s) but achieving nothing like that on wifi linked devices (even when 50cm away)
Apps were not loading videos (BBC, Imgur etc)
Spoke with customer support, updated firmware, updated phone, turned off firewall - still no joy.
Websites can take 20 secs to load and regularly freeze, so a pretty much un useable
Decided to go back to BT as still within my 30 days trial.
Cannot recommend

If you're looking to do just email and streaming in my experience then it will work ok for the most part but for gaming dont even waste your time. I receive massive latency issues ranging from 90 all the way up to 3321 or just general packet loss. It does this multiple times a day every day without fail.Avoid

With an overall customers satisfaction score of just 77%, at 45% customer satisfaction rating (compared to 85% for the top vendor) Ofcom has ranked Vodafone as the worst broadband provider in 2023.
My experience concurs - I've been a mobile customer for over 10 years, and broadband customer for over 4 years , had 3 rubbish routers and intermittant internet connection dropouts and slowdowns throughout.
The straw that broke the camels back is the pending 14.4% price increase and completely broken broadband upgrade offers. The upgrade promised in the email sent to me when I started the upgrade process from their website for ProII Full Fibre 100 for £28/m with UltraHub wasn't actually available so I couldn't actually take out the deal they offered! It would have been available for £43/m without the Ultrahub and thus wouldn't actually support the required features.
The routers have extremely unreliable wifi s/w issues requiring frequent restarts of the wifi to get Sonos systems and my LG TV connecting robustly, and the wired connections are also unreliable.
Customer support is 0/10. Vodafone provide a completely usless "AI assistance" TOBi which just doesn't work. The entire support system was down on 3 occasions which I tried to use it this week, and Vodafone's own staff also had problems due to its unreliabilities.
The support phone staff couldn't sort this issue so escalated it to another department which refered me back to the original support staff who couldn't resolve the issue! I asked for the complaints department but after 10 minutes they couldn't transfer me so I thanked them and explained I'd email instead. They then called me back again trying to reverse transfer me back to the original team so clearly they hadn't understood a thing.
I gathered evidence of the email offer and upgrade website issues as PDFs and during the tedious support calls I found 3 email addresses for support/compliants via google (Vodafone don't actually publish any ....)
Emailing them resulted in no response from two of the address, the 3rd got a response which led to 1.5 hours of calls only to discover Vodafone can't comprehend what offers are actually available, offered me Pro II Full Fibre 1 rather than the promised Pro II Full Fibre 100, and despite this the website T&Cs still specified the wrong router which wouldn't support the Pro II features of 4G backup and WiFi6. so the descriptions are wrong and contradictory in terms of pricing and the equipment supplied.
One support person was very helpful and offered to try to provide resolve things to an upgrade which is actually available and fulfills what they offer email specified, but before they returned from holiday a "muppet" took over the compliant, and didn't read the information I'd provided or understand what had been discussed and closed my upgrade process/complaint saying I'd refused their offer which is blatantly untrue. Now they won't reopen it, and anway I'm so fed up and disgusted with the "service" provided I've decided to take my business elsewhere.
The £3 discount for having a mobile contract and broadband contract is also useless - I can get a SIM card with 2x the data allowance for 1/2 (or even 1/3) of the price with the other major suppliers which also offer better coverage.
I'd strongly recommend avoiding Vodafone - other suppliers have coherent offers which can actually be taken out, offer higher DL/UL rates and equipment which actually works reliably, and they also have customer support which actually works.

I decided to have my broadband and landline through you as I already had my mobile with Vodafone.
First problem, I was not at home when the engineers turned up which was the wrong day, first of all !!!! Then the day, they were supposed to have come it was cancelled. They gave a new date. Unfortunately I could not be there due to work commitments so my mother was there instead for the engineers. When they arrived, she asked if they can put the router box in the hallway next to the phone line. She was told that this was not possible and that it would need to go in the front room. She called me and said and told me what they said I then said try my bedroom where there is a phone port but apparently that was no good either. So it was set up in the front room where there was no phone line.
When I got home, I found out that unfortunately the pole across the way did not have fibre-optic so it was unable to connect to the Internet !! Why this was not checked first was beyond me ?? So I had to wait about six weeks for someone to come out and put fibre-optic into the pole across the way.
The engineers came into the house again, but I was at work, so I never spoke to them they only spoke to my mother.
Finally, everything was up and running, so I thought !!!! I don’t tend to use the landline and it was only due to the fact that the doctors had been trying to contact me and a friend on the landline. That I realised it wasn’t working. I spoke to someone on live chat who told me that I needed to use the telephone ports on the back of the hub router and plug it into the telephone. The problem with this, I don’t have a telephone line to plug it into as the nearest one is in the hallway which is nowhere near the router ? I don’t have one in the front room that is why I asked for the router to be put in the hallway.
So now I have a landline, I can’t use. Which is absolutely ridiculous because the engineers would’ve obviously noticed this when installing the router. The person on live chat was useless and just kept repeating the same thing to me, even though I kept saying the same thing back that I can’t do that.
To say, I am frustrated, would be a total understatement.
Also, when you send a complaint by email you expect a response. Vodafone have chosen to ignore.

We've had vodaphone broadband for almost 3 years now I think. It has been terrible every single second. If I was the person in charge of the wifi in the house then I would have moved from them long ago. When it works, it works rather well admittedly. However, The chances of it working are slim. It works best from around 7-10pm. During the early morning and mid day it is attrocious. I'm a uni student and spend a lot of time on the internet trying to do work but for the past few weeks I've resorted to using my phone data to do work since vodaphone has struggled to load anything. It has a hard time allowing me to send an email, let alone load multiple web pages. If you get in contact with customer service they are more than happy to apologise and sort it out for you. From that point on your wifi will be great, for a week then it it will revert back to poor performance. If you are considering vodaphone for your house, stop and find someone, anyone else.

My DSL connection drops regularly, whicheans no internet at all several times per day. Vodafone support advise me this is down to the network in my area, and nothing can be done. So I'm now trapped in a contract with them for a service they can't provide reliably. Customer service is appalling, they don't do anything at all to help despite dozens of phone calls. Do not use Vodafone if you want a reliable service.

Unacceptable service, avoid
Hi all
Normaly i wouldent write a review about a bad experience as i belive that everyone makes mistakes and need the oppertuinty learn from them and change there customer service experience but from the way i have been treted by vodafone latly is simply unaccseptable, i have been with them for 14 years and was contacted a few month back by there 'rewards' team offering vodafone broadband, having recently moved i thought id give them a try, after agreeing an competive package i had the rooter dilivered on time no problem, this is where the problems started.
After reciving an email with my go live date and engineer appointment i waited 3 weeks due to the easter bank holiday wich was fine as this was the agreed date, when the go live date arrived no engineer and since i required a box fitting i couldent simply plug it in, after 3 lengthy phone conversations and several promised call backs that were not delivered i was getting a little annoyed to say the least, i then booked virgin media in as i had lost faith it vodafones capability, vodafone then offered me a cheep package by means of compensation wich was fine so i canceled virgin.
I was then booked in again for another engineer vist bearing in mind that vodafone are already in breach of contract, this visit was again in 3 weeks time, again i waited for my go live date and this time and fitted a box and set up the broadband but low and behold the router would not connect. After more phone calls and promised call backs another enigneer was booked for the folling week, after checking the exchange he said vodafones card needed resetting and vodafone should have picked this up, suffice to say i was verry displeased at this point but at least i had broaband, in the time i took vodafone to saught out this mess i had no option but to use my mobile data as somtimes i have to send and recive emails from home, so now my bill is £245, i called vidafone again to get the data charges removed but was met with what i describe as sheer incompitence as they said the could not remove the data charges, i am now canceling phone and broadband with vodafone, the long and short of this story is avoid vodafone at all costs as after putting up with 14 years of poor signal, bad customer service, broken promises and sheer incompitance i am putting in a complaint to the FCA.
Thanks for reading

Calling them customer service is an affront to customer service.

Don't touch them with a barge poll. My broadband has been disconnected for almost two weeks in error. If I ring up I am given dates when it might be back up- one definite they said. I am promised call backs which never come. There were problems from the start and I know that a good perportion of the staff know very little about broadband
