Avoid Vodafone like the plague. They are incredibly badly organised, and just don't have the organisational ability to run a broadband service. I had so many issues getting set up - all caused by Vodafone doing things wrong with the installation and mischarging me. They terminated an existing line instead of transferring it, they over charged me - and every time you want to talk to them it's 5 mins of automated telephone bot asking you questions till you get through. Everyone you speak to says something different etc etc - they wont ever email you anything either so you can't have a record of what they said. Just awful customer experience. The router is shoddy and drops out regulary. If you ever want to move they say you have to pay the balance of your contract or sign up to a new 18 month contract - which is basically extortion. Total joke of a company.

Worst internet ever. I literally do not even know how Vodafone is even allowed to have a broadband. Spent 30 minutes trying to load things up. Games I download that only take around an hour takes a day to download. Simply unreliable, the speed is extremely slow I do not recommend Vodafone. Customer Service is okay I guess but they end up never helping. Any recommendations?

I've got the superfast 2 package and generally get good speeds of around 70+Mbps. This sounds great but Vodafone have traffic shaping in place and I get a lot of buffering issues when streaming. Haven't had issues with the big players like YouTube, Netflix, etc. but others services are impacted greatly especially during (and not limited to) peak hours. As soon as I connect to a VPN, I no longer have the buffering issues so definately Vodafone restricting the traffic. They do offer competitive pricing especially if you're a Vodafone mobile customer too, but not worth the pain of having to deal with buffering ruining a movie which shouldn't be expected with speeds of around 70M. Will definately be moving away when my contact ends.

they know its awful as they have stopped offering their service in out area but they are happy to make those of us who have their broadband and landline suffer

Don't get caught in their 24 month broadband contracts!

I initially joined Vodafone Broadband for their cheap prices and discount with a mobile contract. I also thought 24 months of cheap contract, why wouldn't i like that?

So the first install was a bit of a hassle; they didn't update me on the engineer coming round, rescheduled without telling me causing me to loose out on some paid annual leave. Once installed, they had some trouble activating and all in all, it took about 10 days to work once the router was installed. Not great but not too bad considering the trouble I have had with other companies. (just to note; I left their phone contract when I bought a new phone before the next part of this story)

The second installation was when I was moving house. I notified them two weeks before moving house (18th Feb) and they said they would be able to install it on the 4th March, and to take my current router to the new house and plug it in on the day of installation, then wait for the engineer to arrive between 8am-1pm. This was another waste of a day as I had no notification from vodafone or their engineer confiming the arrival. I called them at 1:30pm (bit eager but they were late, so i thought) and they said they would arrive between 2pm and 8pm.. So i waited till the end of the day and no one arrived.

The next day, I got a "good bye" email from Vodafone. They had cancelled my contract. I spent a couple of hours on the phone asking what was happening with my internet and they blamed it on an internal error, so they then put in another order and told me it would now be installed on the 8th March. Not great but it could be worse.. I get that with Covid etc, things are a bit of a struggle. It gets to the 7th March and they call me to confirm the internet will be installed on the 16th March.. 16th?! Okay fine, so 16th it is. 15th March comes along and they cancelled my contract again! So that is 4 times it has been delayed now, (4th, 5th, 8th, 16th March). I called them again and spent ages being chucked around to different departments.. At this point I wanted to cancel and just go with someone else, but I am stuck in a contract with 14 months still to go, so that would cost nearly £300 to cancel. Yep, they've got me by the nads here. I just have to deal with whatever they throw at me. Anyway. I finally get through to someone and he gets my fustration and can see that my contract has been cancelled over and over and he believes that he has fixed it. He "guarentees" the install by the 26th March. Finally! Someone gets it and it's all fixed! I'll book another day off work so I can be in for it and finally get this sorted.

I got a message today from Vodafone confirming the internet will go active 8th April. Ha! We'll see..

So yeah.. Next time I get broadband, I'm going for a 12 month contract.

Was only with them for 10 day. The Wi-Fi box they give u dose not give the speed they promise you. No where near good enough. They just wanted me to wait until the 14 days where up so I would be Tied in for two years and word have to pay to cancel. Very poor from a Company like Vodafone.

Didn't get as far as being a customer but want to review them based on my brief interaction with them today.
Went on to 'chat' to ask if Vodafone would increase the contract yearly by RPI as they do with their mobile contracts.
Was told 'yes' which is bad enough but agent then told me this was what they were told to do by OFCOM. Well if that's the level of support now then I wouldn't want to see what is was like as a customer. I decided not to transfer to them.

This company is seriously a joke. Placed my order online, received confirmation and followup direct debit emails. Also received the router and then till the agreed installation day no comms. When contacted webchat on the agreed installation day to find out when to expect and engineer visit, I was told that there is a problem with my order and I need to call call centre.

Called call centre and then was passed around different 3 different departments. Every one had their own version of the issue. In the end, told that vodafone is having an issue with online orders and that I need to place my order again. I decided to end this stupidity there and cancelled the order instead.

Avoid! A couple o days in my new contract with them lost the promised internet speed.Instead of 55 I was getting 8-15. This is ridiculous. After numerous attempts calling them every time they gave me different answers, technical issues which they still working on. I had enough I said I want to cancel my contract. They said 30 days notice which is 17 of July. Here I am on 19th of June and they cut off my internet. No internet, I can't get over to customer service and it looks like I can't get internet for the next 4 weeks. It is unbelievable that they can do this. Bye-bye netflix!

I have been with vodafone for nearly a year and cannot wait for my contract to finish! The initial changeover went like a dream but unless you only want ethernet and perhaps a couple of wifi devices, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. I suddenly started to get problems with wifi devices suddenly disconnecting. All I get from the customer services is that my contract is for the broadband only and wifi is a 'curtesy' service! They suggest that I only ever have a maximum of 5 devices on at once and switch off the wifi on TV's mobiles etc when not being specifically used! I should also use the app to make sure that I havent forgotten to switch anything off! We had more of the family at home when I was with sky and must have had about 15 devices connected at times, with no problems at all. The router also just cuts out on occasions and needs rebooting. Vodafone won't let you use another router. In future I will happily pay a bit more for a decent service

Very dissapointed as a loyal customer of over 20 years after 3 attempts to get broadband installed at my new address they now claim it is not possible. Their only answer after numerous failures on their part was to try and fob me off with £15.00 to shut up and go away.

Over the last 14 days I have made repeated phone calls spending more than 8 hours being bounced from person to person, having to repeatedly re-explain the issue as they did not hand over the information. 3 separate attempts to set up phone and broadband at my new address and 3 times cancelled by them without notification to me or explanation. The first cancelled after 2 days for no specified reason. A second attempt was made at that point during which they 5 times attempted to give me a new number with the wrong area code, despite me pointing this out they assured me this was the only number available. This turned out to be the cause of the failure the 2nd time, but I only discovered this incidentally.

At this point there was a brief ray of hope with the assistance of a lady called Lorraine who was very understanding and went out of her way to go away and try and resolve it the following day. As part of the process she also got the management to agree to a good will gesture of £50.00 applied to the account. The following day, true to her word this was resolved and the application started again.

Two days later once again it was cancelled by vodafone with just a text request to call them after being bounced around a customer representative eventually suggested it was now down to an issue with BT and not being possible to provide broadband at my new address. Despite the fact that having moved to all suppliers, including BT, confirming 77mb superfast broadband was available and 2 minutes after getting of the phone with Vodafone, plusnet have sorted out, phone line up and running in less than 24 hours and broadband shortly to follow.

This representatives solution was just to offer me £15.00 good will payment for the inconvenience to go away as this is all they would offer, despite already offering significantly more. After nearly and hour of him repeatedly trying to fob me off with taking this now as it is all I will end up with he eventually agreed to call me back the following day after speaking to a manager as he was unwilling to consider my request to end my mobile phone contract early so that I can end all engagement with them as a result of their diabolical lack of customer service.

The following day he has failed to call me back at the arranged time but did eventually call back later and just transferred me to a manager that he had lied to and only suggested I wish to discuss compensation of £15.00. Having explained the situation again to her she just told me I would have to pay £187.75 to end the contract early but she could not help. She dumped the call to someone called Marshall but failed to tell him anything and he just dumped the call to a barely intelligible French lady who did not know what was going on and was not listening so just dumped me with an English gentleman to give me a PAC code but he claimed he could do nothing else but that and that I would have to ring another number to deal with my complaint.

To add insult to injury I then get a text confirming the PAC code my exit fee is suddenly £220.37.

No doubt I am about to have to go around the houses again to try and bring this to a conclusion and potentially the only way to get them to take any action is to cancel my direct debit and when they chase me send them a bill for my time, which at my hourly rate will leave them owing me money.

Issues over 3 weeks with intermittent non-existent or slow speeds. Unstable connection. 5 Vodafone tries to do various things my end and remotely. They will not accept the slow speeds on speed tests or 10 - 15 mbps on a 35 mbps guarantee is a line issue. They have layers upon layers of technical teams - 3 line teams I've found out. All saying rest assured it's sorted now and it isn't. IT is surreal the lengths they go to to avoid sending out an engineer who is clearly needed. Surely employing all the people to fob off customers would cost more than simply doing what needs to be done. Just out of this world. And don't start me on the lies they tell

Terrible terrible terrible company.I have been having internet connection problems, Wi-Fi drops often and not a real customer to solve your problem..They connect you somewhere in India to help you but not a real help. They keep repeating same things but problem never being resolved. Vodafone have horrible technology ..it was one of the biggest mistake of my life to switch to this company. Please stay away from them and DO NOT switch to Vodafone. Pay £10-15 more for a good service elsewhere and don’t have a nightmare into your life.

shame offcom hasn't done anything about forcing these companies to make transferring to a different type of service provider easier. Vodafone are just about un-contactable. Paying for a service i can't use, then paying for call costs for 40+ minutes and still not get through to to cancel.

Genuinely the worst broadband ive ever had, note i used to have post office wifi with a max of 15mbps download and i think that was 10x better. Ive bough a package which promises no less than 40mbps download and 5mbps upload. Ive never had more than 16mbps download and 0.2mbps upload and i speed check every week... Ive been in contact with them over ten times with their reply always being "split your ssid" etc. Theyve even had an engineer out to change the phone cable and now its even worse. Definitely recommend anyone looking for a decent broadband to go to bt fibre

We get an overall good service with Vodafone. The router is fine and they will provide you the PPPoA password if you want to get a better one.

Support has been fine. They have both phone and online chat support.

Speed is expected and in line with what Openreach is available on the line.

Overall a good, cheap and reliable ISP

Overall I can't fault Vodafone Broadband. I've got the 76MB service, which rarely goes below 60MB. Last year it started getting really bad, due to contention (too many users), it took six months to fix, because they had to install new fibre locally to support additional connections. Then it was back to it's usual reliable service. Vodafone bend over backwards to resolve issues and reward loyalty.

Got the 60 meg deal getting speeds of average 25 meg. TV keeps buffing videos on tablets same as tv. End off contact I'm leaving.

The most appalling service I have ever experienced. Spent over half an hour on the phone ordering. Received the router and waited ten days for the activation date. Date came and passed with no contact. Phoned Vodafone and was eventually told that contract had been cancelled without informing me. After initially being told this was because fibre was not available for my address several calls later I was eventually told all was due to their operator typing in my postcode incorrectly. My choice thereafter was to wait 72hrs for them to reinstate the order and then wait another 10-14days for the activation OR to register as a new customer spend 30-40mins on the phone giving all my details again and then still wait 10-14 day for activation. At this point it was easier to go with another company having wasted a total 4 hours on the phone.

Avoid Vodafone! I'm stuck with it now because my old provider's broadband has ended and Vodafone's has not activated yet. Activation has been delayed twice, with no communication or explanation from Vodafone. The transfer from old provider to Vodafone is not seemless as promised. 2 ppl working from home who now have no internet, one of whom is self-employed and whose business relies 100% on the web. I've had advisers promise me they've fixed it only to find it's not fixed, and I've been passed from queue to queue with different teams who can't fix it. I'm on a queue now as I write!

Absolutely awful was meant to go live on 7th...10 days later still waiting...is one lie after another as to why they can't go live with the line. Apparently 1st engineer was competent and neither was the more senior engineer they booked in...now they are sourcing 3rd engineer. Customer service is pot luck...whilst polite are here messengers with no technical knowledge. Suggest if you switch have a 2 week overlap with providers...

Absolutely terrible service from Vodafone from start to finish.
Switched to Vodafone broadband and selected an installation date. A few days later get an email with a different date for installation that has been given to me without checking.

I can't do the date so call and request original date.

Nothing happens for three days. So I call back to be told original date is unavailable. So agree a second date.

Called back next date to be told second date isn't possible and offered new installation date 12 days after original selected date.

So I cancelled the whole thing. And you'd think that would be the end of it. Receive a text saying I've cancelled. And then emails about services I've added... And a bill.
The bill is for services before the installation date.....

    What a bunch of idiots.

    Terrible terrible terrible service.

Switched over from bt about 3 weeks ago. Nothing but problems. Constantly slow and dropping out although the Vodafone app says my sync speed is high. Customer service are friendly, but hopeless constantly saying they will call you back, wait 48 hours, then repeat the same checks again and again. Got so frustrated today after another 30 minutes on the phone I cancelled my broadband! Avoid!!!!

Terrible Customer Service. I ordered Vodafone Broadband 2 weeks ago, but the router never arrived. I've been on for hours and hours complaining, asking for a new router, they just kept re-assuring me it would get here. It never did, even DPD said they had lost it, so I asked them to send another, still nothing arrived. Yesterday, they switched me over without a router and I lost internet at the most critical time, home working due to Corona. I asked them not to do this until I new I had a working router, they did it anyway. Due to the urgency I decided to use my own modem so requested the PPP username/password in order to connect. My existing kit did not seem to connect, so I went out and bought a Draytek modem, which didn't work either, so i went and bought a TP Link modem/router combo, and this didn't work. So after hours more technical support it transpired they had provided me with only a partial username, and the password they had given me was incorrect due to I's and lowercase L's, they had read it out over the phone incorrectly. So eventually, I am online using the TP Link. The speed seems fine so far ~55mb on Superfast 2. Still not received the Vodafone router though, it will probably never arrive. I have never had such bad customer service from any company, they could have sorted this long before Corona started shutting things down.

Don't do it! Hands down the slowest, most unreliable broadband o have ever had. Constantly dropping, stopping and poor Wi-Fi range. Technical support are useles repeating the same stuff over and over and don't seem to keep a log of your previous contact! Gave up in the end and switched to Plusnet, back up to full speed straight away which leads me to believe Vodafones structure can't cope with the numbers of customers they have, plus theier router sucks! The only good thing is theier app

Horrendous experience already and not even connected yet. Day 2 into contract and already been given 3 different activation dates. Now without broadband completely. Apparently there is a fault on my line even though my sky broadband was working perfectly yesterday morning before they took it over. Big big mistake moving from sky and intend to cancel the contract

    Utter garbage; Masters of incompetence.
I was supposed to go live on 7/10/2020 - was told initially that no engineers needed. Called tech support on 8/10/2020 - advised it was some routing issue and will be live by 13/10 and would send a sim card which could be charged with enough data to last until broadband is up and running.
I get the sim card on 12/10 so i call vodafone to get the data onto sim card as advised by that tech support advisor. I spoke with another advisor who now advised that i need to have engineer appointment (why wasn't i told previously) - apparently it is due to openreach (engineer) issue. Then she was unable to add any data to the sim card as it was apparently pay as you go sim!!!! so she said they would give me 1 month free mobile broadband (unlimited data). I was already on phone with this advisor for 3 hours and my family waiting for me to celebrate small birthday party (family of 5). SO she booked an engineer visit on 15/10/2020 am. I thought it is done and then she puts me through to another person for the mobile broadband and the first thing she says is that 'you know you have to pay for this'. My god, seriously, they do not even check anything before speaking with customers. in the end i decided not to go throught with the mobile broadband as i was tired after work and wanted to have some family time.
so i called the next day to the customer service again - who promised everything will be sorted on 15/10/2020 - also for 1 month free home broadband.
on 15/10/2020 - unfortunately as expected there was again no internet. so i called again after work - again another openreach issue was pointed out. they said another expert engineer was booked for 17/10/20. i was sick and tired of calling everyday. i just wasn't convinced with all this promises and asked her to have it sorted out by 16/10/20 or i will cancel the broadband.
on 16/10/2020 -as expected - of course nothing was sorted out. so i cancelled the broadband on the day.

    As of today on 20/10/20
    - not received any confirmation about the cancellation.
    - she also said she will send envelopes so that i could send back router and apple tv box - nothing received yet again
    - in fact an engineer turned up on 19/10 - had to send him away - he wasn't informed about the cancellation
    - so went to live chat on vodafone today - they said to contact them on phone as my internet was still not cancelled!!!!

seriously vodafone... hats of to the level of incompetence.....

I am currently again on hold to have the home broadband cancelled which I cancelled few days ago.

AVOID!! I bought for both our properties and I'm sure dial up was better, it disconnects CONSTANTLY!! Don't even try streaming a film. Even ad advert buffers. Worst decision I ever made. Had technicians out, logged calls, its just horrendous. No resolution but they'll take my money thanks very much. Don't do it.

I put 5 out of 5 on all the star ratings because to me that is what I am getting. I've been with Post office, BT, Virgin Broadband and some cheaper networks. I have to say I have had no problem with Vodafone ever. Very stable connection with an app that can give you a boost button for them big downloads(Call of duty) My ping is always at the best. Speed is very consistent and you get more than what you pay for. Never had a problem with customer service. Such ease of use with this network and it is clear to me that it is the best network around for price, speeds, consistency, customer service and pure customer satisfaction.
    Take Vodafone guys.

My home broadband signal is so weak Evan my ipad buffers sometimes. I think they restrict my speed some way and I have the fibre broadband. My old bt box speed was better and it wasn't even fibre.

Awful company - do not be enticed by cheap fibre deals!! If you are likely to move home in the 18mnth contract, this is not for you. You either have to pay the extrortionatr early termination fee or take out a new contract at a much higher price. All in all this will cost us £150 extra, and we were over half way through our old contract (old address). They force you into a new contact by making the old one overlap, and do not give you a new cooling off period!!
Disgusting that huge, wealthy companies have to bleed people dry.
