Reading some reviews here I wonder if there are so many negative ones because people generally complain when something is bad, but if something is good they just accept it as normal. I moved from Virgin to Vodafone after new fibre cables were laid in my street. Virgin charged too much and prices were always going up without noticeable improvements. The Vodafone installation went smoothly and I basically got the speedy broadband that I had before, but cheaper. I'm working from home and know my broadband is good because if anyone in my team (all working from home) has speed problems, it's certainly not me. My 2 year contract ended recently, but I got the same good deal again for 2 years without quibbles. I have no complaints.

I chose Vodafone because they were the cheapest provider and also as I thought they are a big well known brand they should be OK. When I first got connected there were some teething issues with the speed up and down but after maybe a week it was fine u get about 70mbit via wired, wireless is lower maybe 35-50 depending if I go from 2.4ghz to 5ghz. I wish it was a bit faster on wireless so I think I will get my own router configured as I have heard the router is the issue with wireless speeds. Can't complain really all streaming etc works without buffering.

I was a bit dubious about moving to Vodafone Broadband as there seemed to be so many bad reviews of their service, but I have to say that the company has exceeded my expectations in every way. The changeover was handled quickly and efficiently, I was kept informed during the process, and the service was activated on schedule. The initial speed was very slow, but when I raised this with Vodafone they organised for an engineer to visit within less than 24 hours. He found a problem with the wiring in the main socket in the house and sorted it out at no charge. My current download speed of 40 Mb/s is even faster than Vodafone's claim of 38 Mb/s. This compares with the 36 Mb/s I was getting on a service rated at 76 Mb/s from my old provider, who definitely didn't do me proud. I'm a happy customer. Well done, Vodafone!

Have recently switched to Vodaphone from Virgin because of cost. Vodaphone is not as fast as Virgin, but more than fast enough for my needs. The customer service is excellent (not put on hold for 30 mins and staff very helpful). Engineers come when they say and service (after initial teething) has been reliable.

Having changed from sky due to poor service and high prices, we now have internet for £20 per month with 38 Mbps download from Vodafone. Today a BT engineer turned up because of a fault detected by Vodafone, all fixed and complete thanks to Vodafone that sky had not detected For 10 years. This was due to being wired wrongly not a fault. We now have 40 Mbps Internet and it is brilliant. You can't ask for better service than that.

Vodafone Broadband has been brilliant in the Highlands, they are far more stable an internet provider than my previous provider (John Lewis & Plus-net) - I always get my advertised speeds and the connection is stable which is good in comparison to John Lewis who unfortunately used artificial bandwidth throttling.

After many years of trying to move (3 times)into the modern world via Fibre my dream has come true.

Several of the well known brands failed me, lied, never turned up, refused to climb up due to H&S.

Vodafone transition was so simple and the Hub very stylish.

I moved from the copper cable 10mbps to fibre 100mbps and a VOIP telephone!

Everything was simple, slick and worry free. Vodafone were brilliant.

My new VOIP phone is far better than the old landline!

Just remember if you are moving to fibre and a VOIP telephone system you have no need to buy a VOIP telephone just a converting insert plug called a RJ11 adapter.

Swapped from BT 2 days ago. I was a little worried before the move but it has been excellent. I'm saving £20 per month and seeing 20mb download speed compared to BT (retail) 14mb and a better WiFi signal throughout the house. BT tried to keep me and I smirked when they said 'we will never be the cheapest' ....silly really as they own and run the infrastructure (BT Openreach). By the way the worst company I've experienced is Plusnet (owned by BT) ...I feel very angry every time I see the advert claiming great customer service - I had to pay them £180 To get out of a contract that they couldn't deliver against to an acceptable level - awfull experience. RANT OVER but Vodafone 'have really done me proud!'

I put 5 out of 5 on all the star ratings because to me that is what I am getting. I've been with Post office, BT, Virgin Broadband and some cheaper networks. I have to say I have had no problem with Vodafone ever. Very stable connection with an app that can give you a boost button for them big downloads(Call of duty) My ping is always at the best. Speed is very consistent and you get more than what you pay for. Never had a problem with customer service. Such ease of use with this network and it is clear to me that it is the best network around for price, speeds, consistency, customer service and pure customer satisfaction.
    Take Vodafone guys.

Moving over from Virgin, I needed something that had a solid speed, rather than one that was up and down like Virgin was.

Ever since signing up for Vodafone I've been impressed. Signing up and being installed took around 10 days and after waiting the obligatory week for our speed to level out, it's been reliable and at the speed we have been promised.

The app is also brilliant! Being able to track what devices are connected is a god send, especially when I can boost the speed to one device when I am gaming!

Overall I'm really impressed with Vodafone, the price I pay is exceptional and the service has been great. I don't get where the bad reviews are coming from.

Ignored the reviews as most with good or better service don't bother leaving reviews so switched just before Christmas and I'm getting the same experience as I was for BT. Gone for fiber 36 as standard broadband is too slow but that's the same for BT. and any other provider and all For £10 a month cheaper. Handy app is great for disabling connections to stroppy teenagers who decide to play games till the small hours. Bill is paired with the mobile bill. But so far happy

Changed from BT to Vodafone Superfast 2 broadband, with call bundle on the landline. Running up to switch over was set reminders from Vodafone and router arrived as promised. On the day the switch of broadband was seamless and not had any problems with coverage, reliability or speed. On BT my download was 55Mbps and after three weeks is 49Mbps, so a little slower but doesn't cause any issues for Netflix at 4K, iplayer etc. Phone was switched over as I kept the same number don't have caller ID but not investigated that as yet. The Vodafone Router is working well, I have a TPLINK VR9000 which I used with BT as a replacement to their hub, only issue was I tried to retain my existing SSID and password, SSID wasn't an issue but the router imposed rules on the password which meant I had to change every device in the house, which is when you realise how many items you !! Will keep the Vodafone router in place for the time being and the TPLink as backup just in case. Overall, very please with the service so far and saving me a significant amount of money from BT's exorbitant charges.

I switched to Vodafone Broadband last year from Sky.

First of all, the switch was seamless. I received the router in plenty of time and the service was turned on exactly when I was advised.

Since then, I am pleased to say that the down/up speeds have been way faster than Sky giving pretty reliable downloads of between 35-65 Mb/s.

Last off, I recently had an outage caused by Virgin Media putting a spade through some fibre in the street and the customer service I received was excellent.

    I thoroughly recommend it.

Most reviews follow bad expeiences but ours has been fine. BT piromised and charged for fast fibre to the nearest cabinet. We were horrified to find the real speed. Vodafone have improved the speed to the best we can ever get out in the sticks. Smooth change over and a bit faster. It is half the price!
Overall pleased with the change and improved value for money. New design router is smart and capable.

I have just upgradee to Superfast 2. The download speed is on average 71 and upload 18. Vodafone have always been very helpful over the phone and in the local outlet. For a total price of £23 + £5 for unlimited phone calls. Extremely happy with the service.

Despite seeing some bad reviews, I switched to vodafone fibre broadband and phone last week and the changeover happened on the date they specified. Although its early days, the connection has been 100% solid and I get speeds in excess of what Vodafone said I should expect. Absolutely no complaints up to now.

Fantastic! Took the plunge, despite negative reviews and Vodafone's history of customer service. Switchover was effortless with slightly better speeds than I'd previously had with Sky. I get a consistent 79.6MB on their 76MB package so very happy indeed. Home broadband customer service is also reliable and accurate.

I getter better performance too from the router!

We've tried most ISPs over the years (TalkTalk, Sky, EE, BT and now Vodafone, and we have had by far the best experience with Vodafone. The most important issue for us was internet speed, (particularly upload) as we upload videos to YouTube as Kiducation UK. We had major issues with BT at our current address - even on fibre the best we could get was 20Mb/s download and 0.4Mb/s upload, meaning 10 minute videos had to be uploaded overnight. BT insisted that this was due to the cable from the exchange to our premises, and that those were the best speeds we WEre going to get as all the other providers available to us use Openreach infrastructure (we live in an area where Virgin Media is not available).

We switched away from BT to Vodafone due to the horrendous customer service, not expecting anything in the way of improvement in speed given what the engineers and advisers at BT has told us. We were shocked when the engineer arrived and plugged us in to 30Mb/s download, 6Mb/s upload, Vodafone fibre. This has been a massive improvement, and allows us to consider some opportunities that we thought would not be available to us (online tutoring for example) due to poor upload speed.

Please do not fall into the trap of assuming that BT will give you better service because BT Group owns several of the other providers (EE, Plusnet) and also the phone lines via Openreach. For us this was not the case, and we get much better speeds from Vodafone despite the fact that they utilise some of the Openreach infrastructure. The customer service provided by Vodafone has restored some of our faith in ISPs after terrible experiences with BT - it got to the point where we had to record all calls with BT customer support to prove what had been said previously, after BT reps "couldn't find a record of that conversation on their system'.

    TL;DR
Speeds much better than BT for us
Customer service faultless so far, infinitely better than BT

I have been with Vodafone broadband for over 12 months now and feel that is a long enough time to have formed a reliable opinion.
Joining was smooth and the service was up and running without any issues on the morning of the switch over date. Monthly payment was £20 and hasn’t increased in the twelve months since.
Two issues worth mentioning. Around last October my connection kept dropping out for no apparent reason. This was happening quite frequently. Before telephoning, I decided to Google it for a possible solution. The first answer I found suggested changing Wifi channels and explained how to simply do this. I followed the instructions and it now works a treat - no dropping out whatsoever.
The second issue involved my fibre broadband speed. Long story but my speed was low so I telephoned. Customer Service answered quickly and talked me through what checks to try. No improvement, so the operative said she would monitor the line and call me back in 3 days. I held out little hope but she called back as promised and arranged for a Bt outreach engineer to attend my property two days later. He turned up on time, replaced some old, unsuitable wiring on the outside of my house and my speeds have increased from 13 to 35 mbps, with no reduction in the evenings, which some customers have complained of.
I really can’t criticise Vodafone broadband whatsoever and my experience is five stars all round.

We recently cancelled our fibre with Sky due to this one being alot cheaper. I was slightly worried after I signed up reading some of the reviews, but after having it for 3 weeks its been fine,.

the router is much better than the sky one and I no longer need to use my additional TP Link Wifi booster. The speed is actually better than I was getting before and the app is really good and has all sorts of features,.

Had Vodafone broadband for a while now and I find it more reliable than either sky or BT. The new gigabox router provides excellent coverage. My speed over wifi is always in high 70s on superfast 2.sky and BT both buffered alot whilst watching YouTube and Netflix. Also online gaming was night on impossible. But with vodafone no such issue so far so good

I'm very happy with the service and have been getting the promised sync speed, although connection speed does tend to be a little lower which is not explain by my WIFI connection.

Got a speed problem or similar? Go to the BT Wholesale Speedtest.

Run a complete test don't stop until it is finally complete all pages about 3 or 4 of them in total.

Do the test again and again until it shows true low speeds you are getting. Sometimes it won't show correct true also.

It will and you then have proof of your connection. Next read and copy exactly what it says on the final page it will make sense when you are there.

This will fix all speed problems and is the only know valid way to do so today for internet problem issues.

Always make sure your setup is correct wiring and all. Go as far as replacing phone socket to router wire if have one also. So you will not be charged for any problems you may have.

Make sure router is set exactly as customer service scripted call will tell you to do when call ISP.

    * IMPORTANT * IMPORTANT * IMPORTANT *
Make sure you test using only wired connection. Not using WI-FI at any time for any test. Since WI-FI can be an issue. Test first with wired connection yourself with WI-FI totally disabled (turned off) in the router. Failure to do this may cost you if found later a WI-FI issue.

As long as the speed is correct. The Speed problem with WI-FI will then be known. Ask ISP if router has known WI-FI issues if not then buy and install your own router. Ensure it is a router that has been tested by OpenReach do internet search for OpenReach Router Tests or ask ISP before purchase or use another router. If use another router you should be able to do so using connection settings from current router including logon details etc.

This is the best way forward to correct Speed and Line problems. Don't assume it is always the ISP or network issue know it is not an issue with your router and wiring.

ISPs will no doubt read this and may try use some of this against you such as above. But with details here there will be no doubt where problem lies and what you do about it. This is all simple ABC.

If you still have a problem then use the 30 days and get rid of the ISP. Do tell others of your issue here. Then will have a more complete true picture of UK ISPs.

I have rang Vodaphone and I would agree what some of you have said they are incompetent and unskilled. Vodphone problem begins and end with it's staff and in-house staff structure until that is fixed steer clear of Vodaphone for anything.

Problem for any company old staff always hold onto old ways any newly trained staff will be turned by old staff ways soon after 'old rot remains'.

For any company it is not worth spending any money on new staff and training them all the new ways. Unless any company clears all old staff from top down first. Not until then will any company evolve to be better than they were previously. This basic ABC applies to any company anywhere.

Finally the Ombudsman Resolution etc for UK Broadband. Pitiful incompetent mainly because the rules they use have huge loop holes in them.

Like this have a problem ISP then deletes to make them good Ombudsman only knows what ISP send them. Anything that has been deleted even if temporally. Is never seen by the obudsman so they will never know the true picture. How many people will have ability to record all their calls to ISP from home phone. Call with a mobile then always record all calls to ISP you never know when you need them to prove to ombudsman complete details. In doing so ombudsman may then fine heavily such bad ISPs. This loop hole is well known in industry but is not known by the public.

5* stars for this info. This info should be everywhere on this site and always easily seen. I post this nowhere else lets see how intelligent the site owners are with this information. Maybe someone should copy it else where also to other sites.

Swapped over to Vodafone Superfast 1 from EE Broadband yesterday. I didn't even have to tell EE i was leaving as Vodafone sorted everything out.

I didn't realise just how slow my old EE connection was until now. Now I can download On Demand programmes on Sky and be watching them within a minute instead of an hour.

I haven't rated the Customer Service as it's early days and I haven't had a reason to contact them.
So far I am very impressed and glad I made the change.

I switched to Vodafone after BT put their prices up again. It couldn’t have been simpler and Vodafone were superb. The new router is better than the BT router too. It all happened by 9.00 am on the day of switchover. I had a lot of pressure from BT not to move away from them, in my view it was heavy handed and OTT.

I feel the need to write a good review after all the concerning reviews written for almost all of the ISPs! I was worried to get a really bad service after doing some research about any of the main ISPs. I recently moved and was with VM before but it wasn't available in the new building so I signed up to Vodafone Superfast 2. Guaranteed speeds promised around 50Mbit down/12Mbit up. When the engineer came he said I could expect around 50-60Mbit and the Router initially synced with around 63. That was 4 weeks ago and meanwhile the router gradually increased the sync speed to 76Mbit down. No reconnects, stable speeds even at peak time. 20Mbit upload. Effective download speed is around 9MB/sec = 72Mbit. Couldn't be happier given that is the current maximum for this type of line. Also the router is quite decent, has good coverage and a lot of configurable options in the web interface.

There were initial problems with getting broadband and phone line at our new property and initially in getting the right speed on a fibre connection. But the support people at Vodafone could not have been more helpful in ironing out the various issues. Polite, helpful and good at communicating what was going on to resolve issues. We now have fast fibre service and phone line at a good price.

I read all the reviews before ordering and to be fair they werent great.. but i thought id give it a try and i couldnt be happier.. yes you get a couple of teething problem but that was to do with open reach connections... vodafone sorted it with them and get a new socket put in within 48 of me calling. The service is great now and i have never experienced bad customer service from them. I would advise give it a go the price wont be beaten!!

I switched from BT a month ago. The switch went smoothly on the day promised. I havent checked the speed but it has been enough to watch copious amounts of Netflix without buffering. I am very happy with the service. Plus I just realised I now have free voicemail on my landline. So overall getting as good service for half the price. Would recommend.

I switched to Vodafone from TalkTalk as they were unable to match the Vodafone offer which was ten pound a month cheaper and double the speed. The switchover was completely seamless and now getting 75MBPS download and around 20 MBPS upload. The service is 100% reliable and I 100% recommend it.
