I have been with Vodafone for four months and when is working is great but unfortunately I keep having problems with the line. Openreach have come out seven times and continue to find problems, have replaced cabling but the problem always comes back. When it works is great, fantastic upload and download speeds and great coverage in the flat on multiple levels. Unfortunately the continued drops, amount of time spent on the phone and lack of continuity in customer service and ownership of the problem gets low marks from me.

Worst service I've ever had. Really unreliable service from provider and shocking customer service. I ended up having to use a arbitration service to resolve my numerous issues with Vodafone.

Joined Vodafone less than 2 months ago from Plusnet. Supplied router very good and easy to connect. I joined after a Uswitch review but the main problem since has been contacting anyone at Vodafone other than a bot or people in India or Egypt and I was initially charged more than the advertised Uswitch deal and still need to sort out problems with my account which is not easy to "see" on the Vodafone website.

I wanted to be connected to broadband and actually paid to be connected, from there everything went wrong. I'll keep a long story short and just say be wary and be careful.

Rubbish. Router randomly reboots every few hours. Cancelled my contract & asked for a line takeover which I was told was done by CS - but CS put through a complete cancellation, meaning I lose my line & Number! Now in a dispute & prob going to need the ombudsman to sort out. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Vodafone customer service is absolutely awful. Called multiple times to report poor connection. I was told I would be called back but either calls did not happen or staff didn’t seem to be trained to resolve issue and presented conflicting solutions without resolution. I put in a complaint recently but manager did not follow up and call back

Their service was okay, same with the speed. The last few weeks have been really awful. In the evening the internet disconnects at least 2-3 times while we are watching a series or a film. Even when we are not downlaoding anything. Trying to play an online game like Fort**** in the evening is a big risk unless we want to gamble and die half-way through the game.
Their customer service is not the greatest either. It takes forever for them to get any resolution.
I've been with them for the las 2 years and wished I did not join in the first place. So looking forward to move.

I switched to Vodafone from EE to pay less and soon came to regret it. I was supposed to get more speed but that didn't quite translate, and I had a couple of instance in which the line was off. That is nothing compared with what happened recently: without a reason, Vodafone assigned my phone line to another address and proceeded to cut my broadband connection without a word. It took six calls to their useless customer service to get them to "fix" the issue, which they didn't really, as all they could do was put together a new contract. This, without compensation or anything! I have never received such abysmal service.

The wifi didn't work for months, the landlady was going in and out of the shop and calling them eveydays. The customer service was terrible, putting her on hold for hours and the someone else was picking up again, and the again the same thing. She kept paying every months to receive a really bad service and for a wifi that wasn't working. Whatever Vodafone advertise about being reliable, we didn't find it to be true

Got activated on the 14th. Received no connection by 12pm on the day. In the morning I noticed my internet was on but kept dropping every hour due to a dropped IP it was a constant drop on the hour (I timed it). Spent hours on chats and calls with Vodafone. One lady even tried to get me to run speed tests thinking it was a speed issue!then when I explained for the 4th time what the problem is she told me to restart my router, 20 minutes later she said we have been in the chat for over an hour, has the Internet dropped yet, I said no since you told me to restart it 20 minutes ago.she didn't understand and proceed to ask me 2 more times if it was still providing internet.
I gave up with that chat and Called them and was on the phone for over an hour. Told me they will monitor my line for 72 hours. After 72 hours they still didn't know what was wrong so they told me an engineer would be coming tomorrow. They guy was not allowed in because of covid laws ( my area is tier 4) he looked at the outside lines and nothing was wrong & it must be a router problem. I called Vodafone to get a replacement router, Was on the phone for nearly 2 hours. He placed the order and said it will be here in 24 to 48 hours. 5 days later it is still not here, so I called them again. 50 minutes later they told me there was an error in the order and would need to place it again. So another 24 to 72 hour wait to see if I will even have Internet with this new one. If I didnt have to wait 3 weeks to get activated by another provider I would have switched. Stay very clear of these guys.

Absolutely rubbish. the signal drops and goes off all day long. Do not get this service. There is nothing fast about this service look else where. I was with Sky and got lured into thinking it would be an improvement but it is awful. Now I want to leave Vodafone want to charge me £100 which is a joke because it never worked. Avoid like the plague.

My household has been with Vodafone for a painstaking 19 months. First few months after set up were fine then 6 months in broadband reliability dropped, which Vodafone did discount on our monthly bills. A few months prior to our contract ending to present we may as well not of hand broadband. The WiFi will only connect to the TV which is directly next to the router and every other device says connected but no Internet so I have been having to use my mobile data to hotspot other devices in the house. I have contacted Vodafone on numerous occasions and they have confirmed the line is experiencing drop outs and sent out a BT engineer which hasn't solved the issue, was also told that the reason why its not connecting to one of my devices is because its a Samsung TV and the Samsung software blocks the WiFi? Then on my last occasion I spent 4 hours on chat to someone while they reconfigured the settings while trying to guide me through dismantling the BT Internet wall plug?! I was previously with BT and only switched as the monthly cost was becoming far too expensive but I never had any issues in the 4 years I was with them, after the last correspondence with Vodafone we have decided to switch back to our trusted BT for a better router, reliability and connection.

AVOID! If you are thinking of changing to Vodafone broadband then don’t. I lost my broadband 3 weeks ago and after call after call I’ve still not got broadband and they really don’t give a sh*t.
This is an impossible situation here as I need broadband for work.
If you want broadband then go anywhere but here.

The broadband speed is generally okay, but it's very patchy, and often drops out. When I contacted customer service their advice was to 'have only one device connected at a time'. This is ridiculous and not practical when living with housemates, working from home etc. I'd avoid and go with Zen Internet, they're much more reliable.

Switching to vodafone was a nightmare, they basically lied because they didnt know what was going on, blaming the previous service provider for my issues.. basically there was not enough room at the exchange to switch so I had to wait, they told me the other provider was not releasing my MAC ... complete BS.

Their website is dreadful tends to always be down and its difficult to find any information about outages at all.

As for the broadband service its been ok with speeds pretty constant but reliability is pretty poor and at times high pings. Have to say though its actually one of the better WIFI routers as most get some sort of signal around the house but still need to use repeaters.. for the price probably the best out there at the moment.

I would absolutely recommend that people avoid this provided. For 18 months I have been unable to connect any 2.4ghz devices. I have reported it repeatedly, hours and hours on hold, multiple promises of call backs. I have been spoken to like a child, told I that I must have my passwords wrong or that all of my devices are faulty because it’s definitely not the router. Despite their assurances that the router is working perfectly, it was suggested that I buy my own router or upgrade to their new package!

Ordered 6th march, then contacted virgin to cancel didnt realise 30days notice was needed so had to alter my vodafone install date to 13th april, i got a 1st bill until 5th april, i asked for this to be cancelled as i didnt even have use of their services, fast forward down the line, recieved a 2nd bill with 1st bill saying unpaid and added late fee, bill now £49 something, contacted vf 4 times and im expecting a 3rd bill when i cancelled everything 10th april, oh and they cant refund me until 5th may apparently and i paid the £60 engineer visit cost when none of this even materialised. 100% would not recommend, I AM NOW A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER ON NOW TV BROADBAND WITH NO INSTALL CHARGES AND YOU DO NOT GET YOUR BILL UNTIL EQUIPMENT IS IN

We signed up to them and the internet literally didn't work. Was cutting out constantly. Can't download anything on sky. Nothing worked at All! We called them and decided to be upgraded to fibre broadband they said it'll be done within 11 days. 11 days came and went and nothing. Internet wasn't working at all now. So my husband spoke to them on live chat. And they said it would be another 2 weeks! No reason why. So after been told 11 days it would actually be 25! I tried calling. They said I'd be on hold for 1-2 minutes, 45 minutes later still no one available to talk to and still on hold! We are self employed and do a lot of our work online at home. We have decided to leave them, and join someone reliable, as we don't trust it be done in 2 weeks as they've already lied.

Awful! Tried several providers and Vodafone has definitely been the worst. Paying a bomb for supposedly superior wifi, but in fact often glitches when streaming on just one device, and I've been totally unable to use it for work from the upstairs room in our relatively small house! Useless customer service keeps me talking ages and basically just tells me to switch the channels!

I ordered vodaphone broadband several months ago. Routers have been delivered and promises about start dates made. Unfortunately the process has been beset by problems primarily due to poor communication inside vodaphone and terribly formulaic customer service. For example, they failed to realise that a different provider had an existing line that needed to be removed and they Incorrectly concluded that an engineer would not be needed. The process of coming to each of these conclusions was excruciating Partly because the customer service team and technical service teams do not communicate with each other properly. On a number of occasions the broadband was simply cancelled whilst we were in the process of trying to resolve some of these issues. At the same time the customer service assurance of callback is rarely met.
My advice: look at the reviews and customer service complaint of Vodafone first - you might be stuck in an endless cycle of customer service formulism like I am

I can't even describe the Vodafone broadband it's awful you can use it only for 6 months and the bin it and look for a different provider as your speed from 70mbps drop to 1.7mbps and when you contact support your speed will go up to the right speed for a few minutes and the support team will say we test your speed and it's look alright then when you exit the chat your speed falls agan to 1mbps.

Finally never waste your time just do not even try it.

People tend to only write reviews when things go wrong & they want to moan, so I thought I'd make a point of writing a positive review if all went well.
Switched from a major broadband/TV supplier (cancelled the TV years ago). Struggled to find good reviews on any suppliers, so deicded to bite the bullet & go vodafone

Service: Fast & efficient. all done online, no complications. I never had to contact my old supplier.

Delivery: As they stated 3 working days before switch date chosen by me.

Instructions: Simple & clear. No IT degree required.
Installation: They asked new router gets installed in the morning & it should all be done by midnight, but I forgot.
Installed around 5pm...fully up & running in 10mins. Speed tested within an hour, just over the minimum they indicated.
Use their app to change router name & password...makes it much easier.

1 week later: No issues at all. Running at speed, 6 wifi items connected & 2 hard wires.

All at £18 less than was quoted for the same upgrade from old supplier.

The service I am receiving with Vodafone is abysmal.

The speeds we were guaranteed are 75mbps down.
Initially we got 60mbps down 16 up, but after a day, that dropped to 30mbps down 16mbps up, then after another day it dropped to 16 down 8 up, then to 8 down 4 up, then to 4 down, 2 up. The speeds we are currently getting are 1mbps down, 2mbps up over Ethernet and 2kbps down 32kbps up over WiFi.

Upon contacting customer service we were told that the issue is that Open Reach is limited to 15mbps which is absolutely a lie as we were getting 60mbps previously and 40mbps on BT less than 3 days prior.

While the broadband is more reliable than what we were getting with BT, where it would go down mid-day for seemingly no reason, I feel that giving it any more than 1 star for this would be giving Vodafone more credit than they deserve because of all other ways they suck.

Just came out of 18 months Superfast 1 broadband contract with Vodafone. During contract had a few occasions when our speed dropped out completely & struggled to load the most basic websites even on wired connections. That seem to sort itself out after a few times & it was rather stable eventually. But as soon as our contract was up for renewal & we chose to stay on the package we were on at the lower price, our wifi all but stopped working literally overnight. 3G was better, even sitting next to the router is was getting 0.7Mbps. Too much of a coincidence for my liking. I'm not one to have a go at a supplier for poor quality product, I just change away...which I did. I don't see why I need to waste my time chasing a supplier to give me the best possible product which I'm paying for.

If I wasn't already convinced that Vodafone's customer service was dreadful, the threat of £72 charge for not returning a router sealed it! Decided to drop them for another provider after poor service (had to use Google DNS to get some site to work) and blocked sites too (nothing dodgy - just regular sites) I needed to move. They stated how I had requested to return their router (I hadn't) so would be sending out a returns bag. That's fine - I don't need the router so they can have it back. No problem. Two weeks later still no bag but now I'm getting threatened with a £72 charge for not returning it! 45 minutes on the Live Chat today trying to sort this out. I will happily tell everybody how poor Vodafone is now, so it will cost them more than £72 in lost future business.

Worst broadband and terrible customer service. Messed with me for 2 months. I was getting 9-15 mbps on 76 mb package when they guaranteed 62.8 min speed. Previous providers speed was 30-32 mb on 38mb package at least but I thought Vodafone can be better and that was a mistake. After 2 months of almost 3-= calls weekly and hours and hours on each call I finally stopped their payments and told them to take me to court as they wouldn't even let me go.

    TERRIBLE CS.

Their staff only work for salary and don't care about company's reputation or think about customer.

    DONT BUY.

Reviews here sounds too fake to be real! There are more reliable reviews elsewhere on the internet.

No requirement of being verified customers to give reviews is simply a big negative for relying on these reviews.

Couldnt recommend less. Go with literally any other provider and save yourself the headache of dealing with their awful customer service. Signed up for broadband and received a confirmation email and contract. 2 weeks later still hadn't received a router as promised or a confirmation of when the engineer was coming. spent 2 hours with customer service which was totally unhelpful and told me my order didn't exist. kept saying I was giving them the wrong postcode when it was the postcode they confirmed in their own email. phone is useless- goes to an automated message then hangs up.

Switched to vodafone for broadband and home telephone. 5 days and we are still barred from making outgoing phone calls. Customer service completely inept, they are literally inventing answers and keep telling us that everything has been resolved and in 1-2 hours the phone will be working. Will definitely not pay for this non-service. Avoid if you can.

    [Read until the end]
I had Vodafone for 2 years. It was never a perfect internet, it would not work sometimes, but I was overall happy with mainly because of the competitive price.
Every changed on the 6th March when I received those messages "sorry you are leaving" as if I had requested a disconnection. I phoned Vodafone and told them I did not request a disconnection. The woman on the phone was very kind and when I asked for a SMS confirmation she provided it straightaway confirming the disconnection request was cancelled. However, a month later 6th April, OpenReach started to work outside of my house, they had only parked the car and my wife went out to ask what was happening and told them we had not requested our internet to be disconnected, they apologised and left. The internet was working fine, in the afternoon of the same day, my internet suddenly stopped working.
I phoned Vodafone who then told me my internet was disconnected as requested by me. Regardless of what I told them a month before and regardless of telling them I had a SMS to prove it, they said there was nothing they could do and SKY had picked up my line. I told them I did not care about landline, I just needed internet as I work from home. They said i would have to wait at least until mid-May to get my internet restored and I would have to subscribe a 48-month contract. I explained to them my internet was working "a minute ago" how come now I have to wait until nxt month to get it connected. They made me to speak with different teams and different managers and nobody was able to simply restore my internet connection. This took me about 6 hours in different days talking to different teams.
On the 18th April I received an email with my monthly bill, charging me for the month of April/May. Then I phoned them again on the 19th April and told them this was unacceptable and I was not going pay for it and that they should not charge it to me. After a while they were trying to convince me to reconnect with Vodafone, but I still would have to wait at very least 2 weeks, which I undoubtely refused. The manager then phoned me back and said I was not going to be charged and apologised for all mess they had done.
27th April they charged me anyway, despite numerous calls and confirmation. This is such a messy company, I had never seen this in my life. Phoned them now again 2nd May and asked for refund and confirmation in SMS of the refund. I received SMS confirming it and hope I will get the refund too.
Whenever come to your mind the company you work for is disorganised, remember Vodafone is there to go above and beyond your bad expectations.

After contact about a free instalion, advertised on their website, i was asked for a technician visit with a 60ish pound cost. A true joke. False advertisement like this should be punished.

I switched yesterday. It went smoothly, absolutely no problems at all. As for the speed, I have gone for the lowest fibre option. Last night I streamed a film via Amazon prime and had no issues. I obviously can't comment on reliability yet, but so far I have the same service as my BT fibre for almost half the price.

Signed up two weeks ago for 80mb service. Hit problems straight away with peak time speeds averaging 5mb on wired connections - lowest registered as just 0.86mb. Called or chatted every day for a fortnight - same poor levels of support asking to change dns/split wifi etc. This is obviously contention. Was told I should give them time to fix, as I had 30 days cooling off.
15 days in, the service is so bad, I called to quit. Now advised its 14 day cooling off and I can't leave without charges. Liars and thieves.
This is not isolated - check their forum and the reviews below. Take out this broadband at your peril.

Got a speed problem or similar? Go to the BT Wholesale Speedtest.

Run a complete test don't stop until it is finally complete all pages about 3 or 4 of them in total.

Do the test again and again until it shows true low speeds you are getting. Sometimes it won't show correct true also.

It will and you then have proof of your connection. Next read and copy exactly what it says on the final page it will make sense when you are there.

This will fix all speed problems and is the only know valid way to do so today for internet problem issues.

Always make sure your setup is correct wiring and all. Go as far as replacing phone socket to router wire if have one also. So you will not be charged for any problems you may have.

Make sure router is set exactly as customer service scripted call will tell you to do when call ISP.

    * IMPORTANT * IMPORTANT * IMPORTANT *
Make sure you test using only wired connection. Not using WI-FI at any time for any test. Since WI-FI can be an issue. Test first with wired connection yourself with WI-FI totally disabled (turned off) in the router. Failure to do this may cost you if found later a WI-FI issue.

As long as the speed is correct. The Speed problem with WI-FI will then be known. Ask ISP if router has known WI-FI issues if not then buy and install your own router. Ensure it is a router that has been tested by OpenReach do internet search for OpenReach Router Tests or ask ISP before purchase or use another router. If use another router you should be able to do so using connection settings from current router including logon details etc.

This is the best way forward to correct Speed and Line problems. Don't assume it is always the ISP or network issue know it is not an issue with your router and wiring.

ISPs will no doubt read this and may try use some of this against you such as above. But with details here there will be no doubt where problem lies and what you do about it. This is all simple ABC.

If you still have a problem then use the 30 days and get rid of the ISP. Do tell others of your issue here. Then will have a more complete true picture of UK ISPs.

I have rang Vodaphone and I would agree what some of you have said they are incompetent and unskilled. Vodphone problem begins and end with it's staff and in-house staff structure until that is fixed steer clear of Vodaphone for anything.

Problem for any company old staff always hold onto old ways any newly trained staff will be turned by old staff ways soon after 'old rot remains'.

For any company it is not worth spending any money on new staff and training them all the new ways. Unless any company clears all old staff from top down first. Not until then will any company evolve to be better than they were previously. This basic ABC applies to any company anywhere.

Finally the Ombudsman Resolution etc for UK Broadband. Pitiful incompetent mainly because the rules they use have huge loop holes in them.

Like this have a problem ISP then deletes to make them good Ombudsman only knows what ISP send them. Anything that has been deleted even if temporally. Is never seen by the obudsman so they will never know the true picture. How many people will have ability to record all their calls to ISP from home phone. Call with a mobile then always record all calls to ISP you never know when you need them to prove to ombudsman complete details. In doing so ombudsman may then fine heavily such bad ISPs. This loop hole is well known in industry but is not known by the public.

5* stars for this info. This info should be everywhere on this site and always easily seen. I post this nowhere else lets see how intelligent the site owners are with this information. Maybe someone should copy it else where also to other sites.
