Vodaphone broadband has a very patchy signal. Great when working, but regularly loses signal for extended lengths of time. I tried contacting vodaphone a couple of times, but all they did was try to sell me a more expensive package.
When I came to cancel my broadband due to moving house, they stung me for a £29 cancellation fee, in spite of my protestations.
Avoid vodaphone broadband. In my opinion they are a disgrace.

It's worst broadband I've ever had in my whole life. Lot of connection issues and had used their Broadband fast track customer service multiple times but did not improve the service. Entered a long term contract so I'm tied up until this Sep. Would never use this provider as multiple complaints did not improve the service.

The big problem here is the very poor customer service. I've spent more than four hours on the phone and using their chat service and still haven't resolved the issues.

BEWARE - A few weeks ago we started experiencing intermittent service and slow speeds , so I complained and after more than an hour on the phone they agreed with my theory it wasn’t my laptop or my connection that the was the problem ! I insisted they raise the query and I never heard back . After 4 online chats and 2 calls all iniatated by ME not VF they have agreed I can cancel at no cost or fee as they cannot provide the speeds or close to it at peak times . They are not delivering on their contractual obligation - that’s all! After 4 weeks and them saying it’s a BT Opemreach problem they now say it’s been resolved as best as possible as it has to do with congestion and overcrowding on their lines. Basically they were customer greedy and are now chocking on their greed ! I’m going to write to the ombudsman’s as it’s poor service and poor sales management that have led people into signing up for something they cannot deliver on ! I have 3 mobile contracts too so it’s not like I’m trying to get it for free but I’m not paying £20 / month when I should be paying £2 as I only get 10-15% speeds at peak times . C u VF BB .

The customer service is absolutely appalling. To be a Vodafone customer you need hours and hours to spare sat on hold and then when you do finally talk to someone they will promise you all sorts that will not materialise and you will never speak to them again. I would not recommend anyone uses Vodafone.

I am a key worker working on critical national infrastructure from home for the past 2.5 weeks. I had multiple problems with Vodafone broadband over the years but these started getting worse in Feb with the connection dropping off several times an hour over the last few weeks. I reported it to Vodafone at least half a dozen times. I understand shortages of stuff considering the situation but not the constant lies and abysmal technician support. The promussed 3 day turnaround for 2nd line support just doesn't happen. They don't text, call or fix anything. When someone does get in touch they ignore the clearly stated problem (malfunctioning internet connection on the router) and waste my time on wifi splitting or changing microfiletees, despite BT confirming back in Feb that the problem is not on the line but with the router. I checked the Vodafone forums and it is clear that their routers are of poor quality and malfunctioning but they refuse to acknowledge it and to semd a replacement, despite my key worker status and impact on my work. I  am at wits end as it is now impossible to get hold of their chat or help desk and.desperate for a solution so I can do my vital work.

Purchased Superfast2 broadband from Vodafone due to the promise of 60mb+ speed. It's been 2 years since I became a customer and our speed has never been faster than 32mb. I have brought this up with their customer service but all they could offer me was a 15% discount.

If your looking for 60mb+ service in Southport, Merseyside I can honestly say don't use Vodafone. Try another service. You may have more luck that me.

Vodafone set us up quickly, and we had a much faster line than advertised. However, we came home one day and our Internet wasn't working. Contacted support who advised us our account had been cancelled, so they setup an engineer to reconnect us 2 days later. Still no Internet from then so phoned again and was told that the exchange was broken and that in 2 days open reach would be out to fix. Phoned back again 2 days later and was told that the open reach appointment was never scheduled and that in 2 days it would be fixed, surprise surprise no Internet 2 days later and this time told he didn't have the right materials to fix the exchange. Asked for a 4g dongle to keep us connected and were told no as we are not moving house so we asked to cancel and move to another provider, after cancelling we were transferred to customer service who offered us a 4g dongle but were told that the 18.50/month we had agreed to would be going up to 23.50/month. This all happened because apparently we are supposed to phone Vodafone and tell them that our Internet is working? Would avoid at all costs. Just spend an extra couple of quid a month and go to a better provider

Don't go for Vodafone for broadband. The service is patchy and unreliable and the customer experience is just horrendous.

We moved house just over a month ago. When researching what broadband was on offer and how much it would cost, Vodafone looked too good to be true. Unfortunately it turns out there is a reason for that. The service is unreliable, which makes it impossible to work from home, fill in a form, or basically do anything that requires the internet being on for more than 10 minutes at a time.

Absolutely shocking customer service - the worst I've experienced. From the first issue, we tried to contact Vodafone through an assortment of channels - including customer service line (where each time we had to queue for an hour before speaking to anyone), Twitter (where we were totally ignored) and through the official online complaint form (and even this was totally ignored).

When we have got through to someone on the phone, despite being polite they have not been able to explain why we are having such issues. A couple of them got us to try a few things and said "that should be fixed for you now" or "it'll be working again in four to five days" but sadly, we have continued to experience the same problems for weeks.

If I could rewind the clock, we definitely would have chosen for a more expensive provider with better customer service and more reliable broadband. This wasn't worth saving a few pennies.

Just pray nothing goes wrong with your Voda broadband. Our router failed after 2 weeks (at least that is what they say the problem is). The WiFi keeps dropping out and we only got reception standing right next to the router and then only on some devices. The major problem with Voda is their customer services. To sort out this issue I have called them 4 times. Twice I had to wait for over 1 hour, once 24 minutes and another time about 3 minutes before they answer. An absolute joke.

Terrible experience! I was on a call for 45 minutes to set up a home broadband account and at the end they told me that they can't provide this for my flat. First they could have checked from the beginning. Second their website was saying that they do provide broadband to my address!!!!!

I cannot comment on their speed I'm afraid as you'll soon find out why.

Fibre has recently been activated in my area and in February I found Vodafone had the best fibre deal around. I went through all of the application process and was told my activation date would be March 1st.

On March 1st Vodafone successfully shut down my old Internet provider however did not activate their connection. I contacted them (Online Chat via my phone as you cannot get through on their phone number) and was told everything was OK and that it could take until midnight to activate.

March 2nd, still no Internet. Now they say it is a port problem at the exchange and they said an engineer could not get to the exchange due to the weather (Beast from the East) even though they had three weeks in which to prepare the "port". Now I'm told they will contact BT Openreach as it is down to them to carry out the work... "contact us tomorrow for an update"

March 3rd, I get a text message saying the Internet will be activated in 2 working days.

March 5th, still no Internet. I'm told (online again) to wait until midnight yada yada.

March 6th, still no Internet. I'm told (online again) that an engineer is being scheduled and that I'm on the critical list. It'll be fixed in 2 days (yet again)

March 9th, still no Internet. I'm told (shockingly online again) that my activation date is now March 23rd but I'll not be charged any fees until i'm fully online... how gracious says I. What about the work to be done on the 5th and 9th, says I? It's all BT Openreach's fault.

March 9th, cancelled my contract within the 14 day grace period as I don't trust a word they say.

Good luck to you if you try to join Vodafone!

Atrocious broadband, swapped from Sky who were quite adequate and have been forced to swap again because the service from Vodafone has been possibly the worst service that I have paid for in my life, slow to mediocre speed, worse than average ping but worst of all by far the frequent disconnects - 1 or 2 every hour, unable to stream videos or play computer games because of he constant interruptions, I will never use Vodaphone for anything again for the rest of my days.

Terrible provider. I should be getting 50mb but for 18 months I've been getting around 10mb at best. Constantly dropping. Customer service is terrible as its been 18 months of constantly contacting them to fix the broadband speed but have got nowhere. I have gone through 3 routers as that's all what the customer service tech advisors know as a solution. So glad my contract has expired to leave. So guys save yourself your money do not use this service.

I had a great deal with my broadband from Vodafone and it initially seemed ok, but more and more the problem has been connecting to the wifi, I can't help but think the wifi router is rubbish and it is time for a new and upgraded one. perhaps then my loyalty would not be in question.

I took a 24 months broadband contract with vodafone at £35 per month after 10 months suddenly it went upto £40 per month. I am not lying connection is not stable. Goes offline time to time. I checked on it's official website and the same broadband plan is offered at £32 per month. Asked customer service about this. They say cpi or whatever price increase. My question is if they can increase price during the contract period why can't we leave? I wanted to cancel my contract but they told me I have to pay £219.

I just want to warn people that don't fall for their low price. Don't be relax just because you have fixed term contract. They can raise price before your contract period expires. And if you want to cancel your contract there comes your hefty exit fee like mine.

Terrible Customer Service. I ordered Vodafone Broadband 2 weeks ago, but the router never arrived. I've been on for hours and hours complaining, asking for a new router, they just kept re-assuring me it would get here. It never did, even DPD said they had lost it, so I asked them to send another, still nothing arrived. Yesterday, they switched me over without a router and I lost internet at the most critical time, home working due to Corona. I asked them not to do this until I new I had a working router, they did it anyway. Due to the urgency I decided to use my own modem so requested the PPP username/password in order to connect. My existing kit did not seem to connect, so I went out and bought a Draytek modem, which didn't work either, so i went and bought a TP Link modem/router combo, and this didn't work. So after hours more technical support it transpired they had provided me with only a partial username, and the password they had given me was incorrect due to I's and lowercase L's, they had read it out over the phone incorrectly. So eventually, I am online using the TP Link. The speed seems fine so far ~55mb on Superfast 2. Still not received the Vodafone router though, it will probably never arrive. I have never had such bad customer service from any company, they could have sorted this long before Corona started shutting things down.

Vodafone is the worst organisation I have ever dealt with. They misrepresent the truth; fail to do what they are asked to and show the highest level of incompetence I've ever seen. Failed to cancel the broadband or landline with my previous provider (yet said they had); failed to request retention of current landine number (yet said they had and it had been rejected). Each agent / advisor gives different information. Only resolved when threatened to cancel contract and claim outstanding bills from previous providers through Courts. Only positive is that the broadband has been reliable with no outages, but has dropped from 38 to 20 in 12 days.

For first 2 years when boardband, I had no issues. I extended the contract same price speed. There said they need to upgrade my line, but after the engineer came, he said it is not possible since an extended box needs to install. They made a mistake from there and disconnected my internet. I am without internet for about 2 months now. I am currently in process of switching. The annoying thing is that they even charged me extra and each time I call them, there tell me the price is higher than when the contract was signed.

I also calling customer care is a headache. They tell me that they will call back with an update, but never call me. Even when the engineer came and said that another appointment needs to arranged by Vodafone. Vodafone never calls.

I am on calls with the team to get my refunds and compensation, but they keep giving me different rates that do not match Ofcom and trying to cheat me when less money.

If you are without internet for more than 2 weeks, switch internet. They have not provided me with any alternative. Customer care just follows the same steps again and again without fixing the issue.

Patchy speeds at times, terrible app that either won't connect or declares the system fully healthy. Terrible customer service line that makes it really hard to speak to a real person and keeps trying to send you to the website to FAQ's (before finally relenting and putting you through to India). The system "had a glitch" that means all customers leaving got sent an email saying "thanks for staying"..! Glad we've left...

I have copied a previous review as we are experiencing the sane issues instead of sending a new Router they have let me terminate my contract 6 months early,
As per other reviews on here. The WiFi router is absolute junk! The signal constantly drops out. The router has to be rebooted at least once a day and sometimes multiple times in order to regain a signal. When it works, it’s great! The problem is, it fails to work more than it does!

Customer service is an endless loop of being fobbed off. This issue has been going on for two months now. First I’m told an update didn’t install correctly, then I’m rod it’s a cache issue, then they reset the router, then it’s more updates! The excuses go on and on. I have requested a replacement or an envy - they won’t provide either. The latest response is, everything is ok from their side, so as far as they are concerned, there is no problem - even though I can’t connect to the internet! I was also told to run an Ethernet cable and use that instead!

The company is a joke. I’d like to know why ofcom are not taking them to task, as they are in breach of contract by failing to provide the service being paid for - and seem incapable of resolving the issue.

To cap it all, they couldn’t provide me with a copy of their complaints procedures. Only to say they have raised a complaint on my behalf! Utter and complete nonsense.

I will not be using them again.

Well... where do I start with this review? Anyone who reads this should know that I went into this whole processes optimistic as myself I had read countless reviews online, not only that my brother had recently switched to Vodafone an is extremely knowledgeable like myself in IT, Networking and broadband in general.

Okay, so placed an order to transfer broadband and Home phone line from SKY to Vodafone as I live extremely far from sky’s exchange, plus the price I was paying for sky was horrendous for what I was getting. Placed the order on the 30/1/19 ( I will use dates as a time reference for how long and how **** this entire thing was ). Okay so 30/1/19 order placed for Superfast 2 package, was emailed confirmation of order and was told my router would arrive 3 days before activation (11/2/19) with activation on the 14/2/19. I was fine with that I knew the time frame to switch suppliers. Had a letter from sky confirming my switch off date was the morning of the 14/2/19, at this point I was fairly comfortable not a lot had gone wrong.. 4 days after placing my order I received a random phonecall from an unknown overseaas number claiming to be Vodafone it was in fact them however I called there U.K. number to be certain. Got informed there was a problem with my order and I had to re do the order that was fine with me not a problem re ordered and was told I’d receive a 2nd router and now a different activation date. Got a new order confirmation email so all seemed Fine. Found it weird I had no update text/ email to say about how my order was processing and at what stage it was at which usually suppliers do, I did however recieve a router on the 11/2/19 at this point I’m pretty certain my activation date could still be on the 14/2/19 so I stay optimistic that everything will be okay. Morning of the 14/2/19 Sky shut off my Broadband and my Phone line so I am without internet I plug in new router that I received and hoped that it would work, left it an hour and no phone line and no broadband
Still after a full Setup, and multiple restarts. So I ring and am informed that apparently there was a problem with my Order AGAIN apparently SKY refused to give my original number across to Vodafone, so rang sky and the guy there said nope we transferred your number across so at this point I’m mind blown Vodafone saying sky can’t
Send my number across and Sky saying they have sent it across and it’s with the new supplier - they can’t get it back I asked because at this point I knew exactly where this was going. So after numerous phone calls hours long at least everytime I found out that 6 Orders were placed as they tried multiple times but Sky “apparently” refused to give my number across, I worked it out why myself because no would tell me my number is now lost probably forever unless Openreach can get it back. So I Now was told at this point I will be without internet and a home phone for 10-14 working days because of this, with no possible way of getting a broadband package any quicker, even if I was to sign up elsewhere on another provider that’s the standard time for it to process and get changed at the exchange.I was thinking of cancelling the whole thing and signing back up to sky or another provider because of this complete ****
Up on Vodafone’s end however because of
The fact it took this long I managed to work
A free complete new line as well as a temporary Mifi dongle for 30 days free of charge plus 3 months free broadband
Come Activation date. Doesn’t help this company are a complete shambles and there customer service
Team have absolutely no idea what happens through the process of changing providers. It’s diffiuclt to explain things to them without sounding like a 5 year old, I had to contact a manager high up in order to get this stuff sorted, so I suggest anyone with similar problems
To myself get in touch with a authority figure within Vodafone or you will pull your hair Out waiting on hold for hours and with the level Of stupidity of some of there employees.

    I don't really recommend.
I haven't received any assistance since we switched from sky to Vodafone.
We are having problems with WiFi, the only you can do is call them and then you sort out yourself!! They are saving money and no sending any one fixing the problem

I don't usually review anything, but I Vodafone have driven me to this. 6 Months into the contract I can't wait to get out, the router needs rebooting weekly, service often drops out and the speed is 16mbps vs 24mbps I had with BT. The router is garbage compared to BT's with short wi-fi range and customer service just tell you to reboot, no more help than that is ever offered. It will cost me a couple of quid more but I'll be straight back to BT in 6 months.

I have been with Vodafone for four months and when is working is great but unfortunately I keep having problems with the line. Openreach have come out seven times and continue to find problems, have replaced cabling but the problem always comes back. When it works is great, fantastic upload and download speeds and great coverage in the flat on multiple levels. Unfortunately the continued drops, amount of time spent on the phone and lack of continuity in customer service and ownership of the problem gets low marks from me.

Absolute PANTS. Sorry, I hate to complain but this service was woeful. 70MB download at 6am, 10MB during the day, 1-4MB in the evening peak. BT and Plusnet were *always* 50MB+ on the FTTC system in the village. Voda have simply oversold their capacity and have to throttle speeds drastically. I cancelled within the 14 day period. Never again. AVOID.

Switched to them for Business Broadband and phone. Phone only would call (outbound) and would not accept calls (inbound). Support is abroad but non-existent and feels very "shady". They ask all sorts of unnecessary questions and perform unauthorised actions. I cancelled the contract but they uncancelled it without my knowledge! I will need to check there are no unauthorised financial transactions for years to come now. AVOID!!

They are really good until it comes to moving homes been with them since 2019 decided to move in 2024. Booked the home move for 20th January, between then and 14 February the engineer, failed to attend, booked it again: the engineer showed up said he couldn’t fix the problem he needed a more “senior engineer” wrote on his report he couldn’t get access. Booked it a 3rd time slot was 8am/1pm engineer showed up at 3pm after I had already left to go to work. Absolutely useless.

Fine until you try to cancel with them. I moved and made several calls and emails. Took 3 months to eventually sort it out even though I’d loved and couldn’t get the service in my new property. Funnily enough during this 3 months they still charged me!

Always drops out. It's that bad that I use my phone's data from O2 instead of connecting to Wi-Fi. In fact, it's that bad I think I'm going to pay them over £200 to cancel my contract early. Virgin was much better with no such issues. Steer clear and save yourself the hassle.

Can't wait till February when we can move to a better provider. WiFi on Kindles has been appalling, having to resort to main wired computer. Advertise average download speed of 63Mbps, (minimum speed should be 40Mbps), suffice to say we do not even reach the minimum - our speed is in th very low 30's, with only 1 computer on OR 1 Kindle. Constantly drops out and we are very low users. Sometimes wifi off for days. Service call has been able to rectify speeds/connection to wifi but it doesn't last. Get tired of rebooting modem. Think very carefully if you're thinking of moving to Vodaphone!
