Thought I should leave a review as all the ones I'm reading are negative. Coming up to the end of an 18 month contract with TalkTalk and it has worked superbly throughout. Speeds are as advertised for my area, and dropouts I can probably count on one hand.

Only problem was when my old router conked I was promised a new one would be sent in 7 days. It did not arrive and when I queried I was told, " We can confirm your new router has NOT been ordered but we can order one for £45." I sourced my own and tip top communication since. Great broadband and phone deals - by far the cheapest and would highly recommend.

Very impressed with Talk Talk right from day one. Customer service was great and have had no problems from date of purchase all the way through to going live. Everything was completed on the day they stated and have had no problems since. Highly recommended.

Been with talktalk for several months. Medium fibre and phone. Swapping from my previous provider was handled by talktalk and was completely painless. I did have to wait a three of weeks for the open reach engineer, hence only four stars for service, to turn up but he turned up on the agreed date completed the required work and left. The broadband was running immediately, the phone took a couple of hours. No drop outs since. I pay for 38 megs and get an average of 37 megs. Do your homework, supply from the exchange by copper wire will always be poor and variable. Go for fibre but check where your nearest bt openreach green box on the street is (it will say on it if it has a fibre connection ). If it is within a 1000m (phone lines travel under or over streets and paths not under houses) or so you should get a very good connection. If not you probably have a poor connection (copper wire) between the fibre box and your home. This is for openreach to fix via talktalk. If you have to contact talktalk the person on the phone is like any employee of any large organisation these days cheaply trained and underpaid be persistent, POLITE and patient. Stroppy will always get you poor service. Happy so far.

I have been with TalkTalk for a long time. A long time means extended contract twice at least, which is about 4.5 years now with TalkTalk. Currently having Fibre 38Mbps and can't really complain. The speeds are good, They have improved speeds as usually had 34Mbps download and 2Mbps upload. Recently was checking for some time with speedtest and it showed 36-38Mbps download and 8-9Mbps upload. Very happy about this. Customer service? They try, however never really needed to complain so can't tell how the support really is. Connection is very stable, you can use whatever router you want. Their routers are not brilliant, however they lack 1Gbps ports (only having 100Mbps ports) as the home networks are now really fast and it is useful to have 1Gbps ports when copying large files between devices etc. so I use extra 1Gbps switch for internal network. Overall, never had a problem with them.

I recently had quite a complicated fault on my line which caused me to have a intermittent connection.

It took just under a month to get the issue fixed and I don't know for certain yet that the problem is fixed as the Open reach Engineer said that he's 90% certain he's fixed the problem so only time will tell.

Overall this month I have spent a lot of time speaking to various customer service advisers at Talk Talk but, I have to say the way that they've handled my issue and my complaints have been excellent.

Their own broadband engineer they sent out to test their own equipment was brilliant and spot on with his tests and diagnostics and the engineer from Open Reach that came out today was outstanding in his dedication to find the fault on my line. He worked on it all day in freezing temperatures and he didn't give up until he was satisfied he'd fixed it.

Eric in level two tech was very helpful along with Elaine and Nasima in Network Management have all been fantastic.

There was a point where I was starting to lose confidence that my issue would ever get fixed but fingers crossed I think my line fault is fixed!

My experience with Talk Talk has been very positive and I can whole heartedly recommend them.

Keep up the good work Talk Talk!

Previously a sky customer I wasn't happy with my sky package so left and came to talk talk couldn't believe the difference with how your treat customer service far superior always happy to help and offer a package to suit my needs I'm getting 79mbs speeds with a fibre boost which is excellent value doubled my speeds for a fiver a month. Sky have called me everyday since leaving trying to get me back but I'm very happy with my service now and fully recommend thumbs up to the customer service staff doing an excellent job unlike sky that only care about selling and not looking after there customers.

We have been with talk talk for a few months now with excellent service and download speeds. Plusnet speeds topped out at 500 kbits download MAX. Now its a regular 1 - 1.5mbits! They have brand new equipment in our exchange and the only provider here that can give more than 8mbit service (talktalk 14mbit) but they actually deliver real download speeds. Very happy from my household

I have been with TalkTalk 3 times on and off over the years. I usually change suppliers on price and to keep them competitive!

This time the service and customer care has been great. At the start of the contract I had some issues with the speed but they promptly sent out an engineer who sorted it out. The broadband has been very reliable.

    No complaints.

This company has terrible reviews, so much so that i seriously reconsidered connecting with them.
The cool off period they offer is only 6 days from being connected (it takes 14 days to setup)

I am happy to report that after a month of use i'm having no trouble with them at all.
I'm getting twice the speed for £10 less than plusnet were charging me.
    I am saved.

If you're having trouble with talktalk, the chances are openreach is to blame.
I'm very happy that im not suffering BT's ineptitude/flagrant disregard toward the maintenance of leased lines.

Try your luck with Talktalk and if you win, write a positive review.
this company needs to pull itself out of the dirt and it needs us to do it.

Have been with Talktalk since returning to the UK to live after nearly 40 years in South Africa. Hence I have no other supplier I can compare them with. Customer service has always been good I have never had any reason to complain about them. We moved to fibre as soon as it was available in our area, up to 38mbps. Speeds were always in the range of 32 to 38 Mbps. Last black friday offers we renewed our contract (our old contract had expired long ago) and moved onto up to 76 Mbps. the best we ever got was 47 Mbps and this was only for a few days, and since then the speed has been around 30 Mbps. We have had constant visits from open reach, and TT engineers to no avail. In fact some of the engineers did nothing except talk. The last engineer was from openreach and took time to look at the set up and found a very bad connection where the line terminated in a joint box at the overhead line. The speed is now very stable at +- 40 Mbps. I won`t go into the technical reasons for the speed available but I have to accept what I was told as it sounds an honest answer to all my questions. He did explain this was the highest STABLE speed we could expect. I have not checked the speed at the master socket but it will be more than the 40 Mbps. Talk Talk have always been as helpful as they can and applied a discount for all the inconvenience we have had. £44 so this covered a month of "free use". This was offered without me asking for anything. All in all, Talk Talk have tried very hard to help and have always been help full and respectful even when I was sounding off.

I would definitely recommend talktalk, as in the small print for everyone complaining there is a guaranteed minimum speed for your area which if it drops below you can cancel without an exit fee, I'm happy with the speed I get as there is only 3 of us who use it and one gamer we get around 5mbps on average.
The Internet does slow down a little around peak times but anyone with common sense knows that traffic management has to be used on a BT line considering how many providers use them.
My price is fixed as I was told it would be it stays at £28 per month as I only use what's inclusive in my package.
The customer services I do think could have better English sometimes but for the most part they have better English than most English people!
I only needed an engineer once when I had a problem which was dealt with within a week as again we all know it's BT engineers who have to service every provider on their lines so I understood it was impossible to come out straight away.
All in all I would say talktalk have a brilliant service and would recommend it to anyone, if you are someone who needs really high speeds go to virgin as we all know talktalk and all other providers can only support speeds up to 76mbps as their is no fibre to your home on a BT copper Line but definitely one of the best companies who do actually have some UK call centres!

Well a week update. Got my super duper broadband switched on when I upgraded and to my total surprise, NO DIFFERENCE IN SPEED. still averaging 37 Mbps which is good downloads quick, internet access quick but minimum 51mbps like new super duper broadband says just ain't happening. 1st February called customer services. Done all checks they could then offered to send out a engineer. Nice guy from bright sparks came out checked everything was installed properly checked my speed agreed it may be a BT openzone fault. A engineer from BT open reach would be contacted and shall visit to check my line. That was on the 3rd February. 10th February I called again, no note of BT engineer but another bright sparks engineer be out today 11th February to replace my router. During all this my broadband ain't stopped never faulted. So please talk talk just let me have the speeds I want and am paying for and let me continue being a 4/5 rating customer and I'll keep paying my bill if you can give the service you have agreed to in our contract. Because now I know I have the right to cancel my contract after taking legal advice but I really don't want to as well service so far nothing like other poor folks have claimed they go through. Let's see when I get my engineer today can I get my mind 51mbps. See update for you folks later.

Have Talktalk plus TV and broadband and phone on fibre medium.

You view box excellent. Dit slow starting up but otherwise brilliant. Great picture on HD. Easy set up.

Broadband on medium fibre. Regularly getting speeds of 32mbps. Never get any lag on TV or computer.

    Customer service very good.

Aldo have new mobile phone with Talktalk at £2.75 per month. Great service too.

Overall very pleased with Talktalk. Pay £32 a
Month for fibre broadband, landline, youview box, pause rewind and record with new stuff being added all the time. Netflix is now available.

If your not far from BT fibre street cabinet then its fine. Other people have had different experience. Go get it!

Was SO happy with TalkTalk - recommending them to friends- then out of the blue get an email saying they are suspending a service - Talk2Go - at less than a months notice. This is 'interesting' as when they called - unsolicited - to ask us to renew in Feb 17 - I made it clear that we would only renew - if this apps previous problems were behind us and it worked reliably - as it was THE reason we would stay ... Now, TalkTalk are refusing to let us out of a contract when the VERY SERVICE that attracted us to them and continued operation is being pulled ???!!! We are in official deadlock as TalkTalks idea of righting a wrong is offering £5 discount foe a month or reducing the 'termination fee' by 25 percent ... AVOID.. they do not keep their promises and insult your intelligence...do not listen, do not respond to complaints in a timely fashion...AVOID

Most recently our router broke. I called the call centre at 930 on a Friday night at got through to the delightful Lisa. She was very professional and incredibly helpful. Less than 2 working days later we have a new router and are connected to the world again! Thank you for providing such an excellent service. And please pass my thanks on to Lisa!!

Despite the horrific reviews, we had to choose Talktalk as no other provider served in our area. We have been consistently impressed with the customer service we have received and can only deduce that they have upped their game. The setup was extremely quick and efficient, the broadband has only gone once in six months and they fixed it within an hour, and their online Live Chat function is brilliant and run by people that know what they're doing. We understand they have a reputation for poor customer service and reliability but, unless we've been extraordinary lucky with our engineers and agents, we are fairly sure they've made some big changes for the better.

Moved from their basic broadband which was a reliable 8 Mbps to their supercars which delivers a consistent 45mbps. The transfer was painless and they gave 12 months free to enter into a new 18 month contract.
Have no complaints against talk talk and would recommend them.
I thought a post from a real user would help balance these posts which as a customer just don't seem real to me.

I first had it fitted with some teething problems such as it dropping when it was working things out. After that I had no issues except with the rrouter. It broke down yesterday. I went on their live chat and after helping me to try to resolve the issue, they sent a new box out. It came today. It works fine. They re reasonably priced and the speed is fine. Customer service was brilliant.

I never had a problem with my TalkTalk broadband. It was my first time buying broadband as a student and honestly the best company to go through for students in my opinion. I had issues when moving house due to not being able to carry over my TalkTalk service to the new address due to wiring issues. As this was down to no fault of our own, they allowed me to break my contract early free of charge. The customer service I received was outstanding and made my first time dealing with broadband easy and stress-free. Their prices are extremely reasonable with no mid-term price changes- perfect for students. Definitely a company I will be recommending and will look to use in the future.

We spoke to Chloe and she was FANTASTIC! My grandmother and grandfather called about their plan and Chloe was extremely vibrant, warm and helpful. I have never heard another representative be as attentive before to their needs. Chloe deserves a raise! she really is a great help.
If you call talk talk be patient with people and understand that not everyone in the world is going to have an English accent. Just be thoughtful and kind to others.
Chloe, thank you for your service, very kind woman. I hope talk talk recognizes your skill and rewards you soon :)

I have been with talktalk for 1 month. The speed is good 36mbs compared with advertised up to 38 and reliable so far.

The tech back up is not as knowledgeable as it should be but very willing to try and help. They do not know the spec of the supplied router, important for me when deciding when to get their package. In fact it is not too bad if far more difficult to manage than my previous Netgear ADSL router (it's a Talktalk specific Hauwei and feels like it's built down to a price not up to a quality)>

They failed to give me all the promised introductory discounts but a quick call to their customer support sorted it out without too much difficulty.

Switched from greedy Virgin Media with next price rise. It was unbelievable the broadband price raised 350% for 7 years. TalkTalk offered the honest speed of 67Mbps for 1/3 less price plus huge top cashback deal. So I not hesitated and booked the connection with the engineer. The Engineer came in the booked time and was really polite. Did everything we asked, even moved the socket to a more convenient place for free. Now we have 2nd month of TalkTalk broadband. The router is perfect with full house coverage by WiFi. Just realise how bad was router from Virgin. Speed, a bit less, but stable and with the positive surprise the upload speed is 30% faster than was in Virgin.
Obviously as many people as more problems, just read the reviews and found this mostly negative. Definitely recommend this company, it has a big chance to become the best if follow the people feedback in other areas. Thank you.

Well I've been live now for 2 days and so far so good...after reading all these bad reviews I was sceptical but from ordering the broadband to connection it has been a pleasant experience. I know I'm only 2 days in so il give another review again later on...

Never had a problem with Talk Talk until now. Their chat team don't seem to understand a simple question. All I wanted was the email address for customer services... Unable to help. Talk Talk, following the security debacle offered Noddle for credit rating reports. Noddle wants credit card details, not prepared to give these out to a company I have never heard of, especially via Talk Talk who are laissez-faire with customer personal data.

Been with them for years, if you don't need customer service it's fine. I have used their forums a couple of times which have better response than the regular support channels.
Moved to fibre and it's been fine.

Excellant broadband speed just upgraded to super duper fast fibre so will see how it fairs with only a samsung tab 2 using it. , clear never a fault with phone line and tv, well it a bit slow getting to players and apps but never has any of the youview box failed me. Really cant complain as approx 9 months now with talk talk and only gripe, their mobile phone customer service quite appaling. But talk talk customer service, helpfull polite and really do try their best.
So talk talk 9/10 from a very happy customer

I honestly don’t understand why so many people are complaining about Talk Talk. I switched my provider to them from Sky as I was experiencing horrendous download speeds and constant buffering. I originally wanted to sign up to the UFO package but was told it wasn’t available in my area. I moved to their standard high speed deal and was happy with the change. A month after I signed up UFO became available in my area, I contacted Talk Talk and told them I wanted to switch as this was what I wax originally interested in. Within a week I had 2 engineers on site and the install was finished. I had no charges for changing my package and no sign up fees. I average download speeds of about 200mbs and stream Netflix in Ultra High Def with no problems. Even with an average of 4 devices connected at any one time I don’t experience loss of service or any slowing/ buffering. I’m on a completely uncapped package and I have to say it’s the best ISP I’ve used.

My first contract has expired was happy with the speed and reliability and the best price at the time. Was thinking about switching supplier to get the best possible deal with was ee. Rang the talk talk call centre they were fast, polite and knowledge. Told them about the deal with ee. They matched it and made it better, get broadband, evening and weekend calls for 8.50 they also paid my line rental for 12 months and gave me £120 pound voucher (perfect for christmas). So I am effectively getting paid £18 to stay as a customer. Speed is what any supplier estimates and I get new router and set top box. Great value! Plus if you recommend a friend you get a £50 amazon voucher

We have had an excellent service from TalkTalk which is our internet provider linked to a BT land line. Our phone became intermittently unavailable and consequently so did the internet. The customer service adviser - Mohammed Nurien - maintained regular contact with us whilst working with BT and treated our problem as a priority because we are an emergency contact for our neighbour's call alarm. He rang us back when he said he would and followed up even once the service had been installed. He was clear about what he would do and he did it and was polite and friendly throughout. We were very impressed.
