Unreliable broadband. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Would not fix fault with my broadband and when I asked for cancellation they left me with a fault for a full month before I was able to get rid of them to go to another internet provider. The "agent" admitted they were not upholding their contractual obligations to me but there was nothing they could do about the fault as there was a cease on my account. Absolutely the WORST experience I have ever had with any company. Do not use these incompetent money grabbers.

We have been with talk for about 7 years now, our connection started messing about about a year ago, we have up to 38MB fibre. I have called Talk Talk numerous time, we have had 3 talktalk engineer visits, 1 btopenreach engineer visits, 4 routers and noone is able to tell what the problem is. When the engineer comes out it works, all test results are good. Then the speed dives again, and quiet often we get 1 MB download speed, and it keeps disconnecting the tablet and mobile. when I asked talktalk about superfast fibre, yes I can have it with another 18 month contract. they wont give the superfast fibre for 4 month, thats whats left from the contract. At least I could try it, no they wont allow me. I can try it for 20 days, which is the calming down period, but if it will do same issue after 20 days on the second day of 18 month contract. I am absolutely fed up with talktalk, really want to get out of this contract.

My overall experience with talktalk was pretty good at the start. was with them for 3 years before i decided to change as fibre broadband wasnt available so i switched to virgin. i was discussion the transfer with customer services and they chose not to provide me with the date i was asking for and instead bombarding me with misleading explanations that it was all okay. They was trying to charge me a whole month for 2 days of usage due to a billing date rule. They was not helping me even though i still at the time remained a talktalk customer. I was planning on returning after a year but i am now quite reluctant.

I stupidly decided to cancel sky broadband as it was too slow for our large household and went with talktalk who told me over live chat that their broadband was more than enough for us all.
Within a couple of days we were regretting our decision.
It doesn't reach upstairs and my teenage son is constantly moaning.
The contractor that they sent out said himself that their router is not fit for purpose and the only thing that might help is the £50 extender that I have to purchase.
My husband was told yesterday by someone he could hardly understand that we have to buy out the contract at £257!!
Even though they haven't provided a service that they were bragging about. They even suggested I purchase Ethernet cables and put them all round the house.
This company and their customer service is beyond awful.
AVOID AT ALL COST

Worst service ever, even giving 1 star is generous. I got talk talk broadband/phone line and couldn't use them anymore since I moved into a house share and they already had an internet provider. I asked talk talk if I could cancel and they said I would have to pay a £300 cancellation charge, which I couldn't afford so I didn't cancel, I kept the line active and paid for something I wasn't using. They were aware of this. A month later, they increased the price of my broadband! Ridiculous! I had to call them and speak to a manager in order to get it back to normal. When my contract ended and I could finally cancel, they still charged me a cancellation fee, just for the mere fact that I was cancelling the service. I called up in January to settle the final bill and i was told to wait until February to settle it. So I called back in February and I was told that the bill had increased because I hadn't called in January to make the payment, when i asked them to check that I had called in January to make the payment and I was told to wait, they conveniently had no record of this call! So I had to pay additional charges for nothing!! This is the worst experience i've ever had with a service provider, do not use them, the customer service is terrible. I will never be using talk talk ever again.

Absoloutly disgusted with the service I am receiving. Joined with talk talk last month after not having internet for several years. The price seemed perfect and well within my budget so I paid for it and that's when all the drama started!
The day my internet was set up i was given the 'OK' by the engineer they had sent out and told me the internet should be running by midnight. This was not the case and I had to contact them via online chat (as they charge you via mobile to ring them) from my mobile hotspot. It turns out the engineer didn't actually set anything up properly and merely wasted my time throughout the morning. Devastated and annoyyed was not the words at this point! A week after another engineer was sent out and finally had it up and running! The speed of the internet was great till recently.
A week after talk talk employees ring you to ask you how everything is (which I thought was quiet nice of them) I told the guy on the phone it was working well and I am really enjoying the speed of the internet etc. So what does he decide to do? Sell me stuff over the phone! Asking me about my mobile provider I am currently with and wether I would like to switch to talk talk, which I told him no and that I was happy with who I was with. So he starts questioning me about my package that I have with them and comparing it with theirs! Which I was having none of! So he carries on explaining about it (baring in mind it has been over half an hour and I was getting extremely annoyyed with his presence on the phone now) and how he will give me a discount to which I had said no thanks, he has now put his manager on the phone asking me how many sims I would like and I also told them I didn't want them! So this stupid manager passes the phone back and he proceeds talking about the sims! I asked him if there would be any charges on these sims if they are not used to which he replied 'NO' so to get him off the phone I ordered 4, seen as though they were free and I was just going to chuck them in the bin anyway!
A week later I had other issues with my broadband and went to check my account and had an outstanding balance of 44.40!!! For the stupid sims he told me were free! So I went straight onto the online chat and explained to the lady what has happened and she referred me to a different department, who also sent me to a different department and then I was waiting over 15 minutes for the other department before they ended my chat! (Absoloutly fuming at this point)
A few days later I tried again and it was the same thing, department to department till I finally got hold of some lovely individual who wrote downna formal complaint and asked a manager to ring me in the morning. So I was up and ready waiting for this phonecall which was meant to happen at 9am. I didn't get the call till 12.30 (wasting my time once again) and on came a foreign bloke who knew 2 words of english.. literally. So he did not know what I was saying and I didn't know what he was saying either. He said he would ring back tomorrow. Which he never did!
They set up a direct debit for this payement without informing me so I have cancelled it and I am still currently with TalkTalk but will not be for much longer till I am compensated and have this stupid issue resolved because I will not be paying stupid amounts of money for somethinf which was nothing but a lie from the talk talk team.
I do not reccommend talk talk whatsoever for anybody! They are just horrible little money grabbers who know nothing about customer service and putting customers first!
A business is nothing without individuals like us and will be losing another customer yet again.

If I could rate as no stars i would, the worst service I have ever encountered. For 4 months I have complained about no connection, and for 4 months the direct debit was coming out of my account. I was on hold for an hour and a half each time, they sent a new signal, it did not work, upgraded the Pakage it did not work, eventually they sent out an engineer who arrived only to have been told the wrong information by the company, so nothing was fixed, the engineer adviced me to contact talk talk ASAP as they are likely to charge me 50 pound, and it is not my fault. I did and the 50 pounds was still taken out of my account. The rest of the month entailed me calling customer services trying to leave my contract as well as getting my money back. After many calls later i was told my contract has been cancelled and I would be issued compensation and to call back in a week. I did, after a 45 minute wait i was told compensation will not be issued as the issue is to do with my property not the Wi-Fi signal. (you can imagine my frustration) I asked if I could speak to a manager I was laughed at and said no. Absolutely shocking service which I intend on taking further.

My internet was active on 24th of April 2020. My contact was faster fibre with minimum 57mbps speed . From the first day i was getting maximum 37mbps speed. I have spoken to several talk talk technician via chat , for the next 5 days until 29th of April , finally i was told that my internet speed will be normal after 14 days as this is going to some optimisation period. On 8th of april still no improvement of speed , again i have chatted with more technician and finally i have been told on 12th of may that i don’t have the boost and my internet was limit maximum up-to 40 mbps. Thats why i am not getting not more than 37 mbps ( mystery solve ) . This is pathetic that i had to chat almost 3 weeks to find out that my broadband speed was limit to 40 mbps even though i order the superfast broadband. Anyway that technician added the boost on 12th of may , i was told it will be active within 24 hours ,on 13th of may again i called but was told by technical again will be solve in next 24 hours . So on 14th i chat with them again , this time was told my order is stuck so the technician suggested to cancelled my pending order and add a new one this way i will have the boost . But after cancelling the order the technician could not add the boost again so i was told to contact again tomorrow which is 15th of may 2020. Since 24th of april to 14th may i have spoken to at least 30 to 40 technician and i was very disappointed with the customer service, i strongly believe staff are not trained properly an that’s why customer like us is suffering and wasting our time with them . Horrible broadband company .

HERE IS MY EXPERIENCE WITH TALKTALK:
My broadband line supposed to go live on 19th of February 2019 . An engineer came on 19th , he set up the line and left , i have connect the router by myself and there was no internet . I called the customer service they said it will go live at 12am midnight . Anyway on the next day there is still no internet , on 20th of February i called the customer service again , on my call they have checked my internet and they have told me there is a network problem so they pass this problem to manchester network team and my internet will be fix within 72 hours ( 3 days ) . On 23rd of February i have called them because there still no internet and after my 72 hours have passed . The customer service team told me again they will make problem as priority and they will send this problem to the network team in manchester , and it will take again 72 hours , this time customer service promised it will get fixed . They told me wait till Thursday 28 of February. I was still patiently waiting still 28th of February but they did not fix . I called on 28th of February and Believe me the customer service told me again they will forward this problem to their manchester team and they will have contact me by 48 hours , today is 2nd of march but still they did not contact me so i called again to customer service in the morning , their customer team feed me lies and tell me network team tried to contact me yesterday. Funny thing she told again their manchester network team will fix this issue within 24 hours ....
My question is if TALKTALK deal this way with their first customer i wonder how they deal with the existing customer . They have puppet customer service team who speak over the phone and basically useless. Talktalk is cheap and cheap service you will get .

Ive been a talk talk customer for 9 years and in the past two years the internet keeps and shutting down with limited access being shown. Called talk talk customer services about 8-10 times giving me the same reply "turn your router on and off " as they do speak a whole load of crap whislt there at it which makes you wanna go up to them and take the company down. Also the manager had no clue about what there doing along with there usless engineers that claim to have a degree in engineeringwhen all they know is how to change the router box. Still have the same problem .CAN NOT WAIT TO MOVE TO VIRGIN.

This company should be closed down,my broadband stopped working and I took my complaint to the CEOs office which is the highest authority at the company you can go to to resolve the issue.
It's been 5 weeks and still no indication as to when they will resolve the problem.
They can't even give me a time of when it will be resolved.
I am so stuck with them and they are completely useless.
The CEO case manger (saima nawaz) informs me that she is the highest authority in the company I can talk to and refuses to give me any details of anyone higher.
Please do not ever get involved with this company.

We have been with TalkTalk, previously Tiscali. In all those years we have only had a couple of issues. Both times the engineer turned up as planned and fixed the problem. Each time we have call customer service, either for the problems mentioned or an enquiry about our bill, they have answered the phone efficiently. Cannot understand why so many people have experienced bad customer service? We were leaving at one point as one if the other companies, at that time was offering it cheaper, but before it was even installed we had issues with getting hold of them and they were up North! Therefore we remained with TalkTalk. Everyone seems at one time or another to have issues with their provider, especially their speeds. Incidentally when the broadband has died a couple of times, it has been BT equipment that had gone down for one reason or another. Customer service is really important to us.

Worst experience and service EVER Cannot wait to cancel my contract with TalkTalk!!! No internet, no connection due to installations taken place spoke to Talk Talk who expect us to wait another 5 days until an engineer comes out!!! Absolute joke of a service especially after being with them for years. But even asked what solution can TalkTalk provide and was told you can do this but talk talk can't provide this to you. Don't say a solution your business can't provide!!! Do not recommend this supplier at all.

Told I should upgrade to fibre broadband and promised higher speeds but fibre no faster than non-fibre so paying for nothing. When my landline went down it took months to fix. Engineer repeatedly failed to show up. Spent hours to call centre on my mobile. The call centre staff do their best - that is the only good thing I've got to say - but they don't deliver.

I have been battling with TalkTalk for 9 months now.Bills of up yp £150 a month instead of 329 becuase they switched my package without notice. Phone and B.B. cut off 3 times now-without warning-great for a teen in middle of exams.I can truely say-they havemake me ill with the angst and frustration.Am off to Small Claims Court next! First time I've been pushed this far.

After 12 fasiled attemps to resolve our problems with talk talk we are ending the contract.
YThey will not investigate why we are unable to access the broadband.
They insist all the staff are managers or they are the only people in the building no one else can help
They tell us that there is no complaints department and that any complaint is not replied to
They want a payment each month for a service we dont recieve.
They have no interest in resolving the matter
the telephone numbers are premium rate
the staff speak as if we are the ones who should be fortunate to have a service they do not provide
most of them are not english and repeadly tell us they do not understand.
we have taken legal action against them as they also decided to put up the amount monthly that was originally agreed by £32 a month which has now been cancelled.
We are disabled and unable to get out so unable to go to the talk talk building ourselves and they have no care.

I've had talk talk for years now and during the beggining it was fine. But in 2018 it started going downhill with the wifi only reaching the room its in and then if you go into the next room it completely disconnects. The speed only reaches 37mbps and other broadbands reach 300 or higher. If anyone wants to seek bad internet take a look at talktalk and make your nightmares a reality but if you want good internet, literally use anything else. Very Bad Speed, Reliability satisfaction and customer service.

Terrible service. Didn't even get to the stage where we had broadband as they couldn't sort out installing a phone socket.
Appointments were cancelled on their end, despite assurances from various customer service agents who insisted that that they would go ahead. Eventually they cancelled our contract- again, this was contradictory to what we were told by customer service; it came as a surprise to us!
They then had the cheek to pass me onto sales when I phoned to query this. Because obviously when you offer gross incompetence people will jump at the chance to go through it all again.
Really, really bad service. DO NOT sign up if you need a phone socket installed, it will be a massive waste of time.

We were previously with Sky, it’s slow Broadband speeds and price was the reason for switching.
TalkTalk had a really good deal and promises fast speeds. I wish I had stayed with Sky. TalkTalk constantly cuts out, it’s so annoying! After having them for a few weeks, I called up to complain. An engineer came to investigate but couldn’t find any issues. I’m still left with awful internet. I really wouldn’t recommend.

I have waited six weeks to have broadband installed and it just hasn't happened. Two engineers have come to the house (and one just didn't arrive) and not done the work and then I've received messages saying they weren't able to because I was out. The helpline is anything but helpful, they put you on hold while they speak to openreach and then tell you wrong information. You then get passed from person to person, again, with wrong information being shared so you spend most of the call correcting people. There is nothing about TalkTalk and the service they provide that I would recommend to others. I eventually filed a formal complaint only to be told this would be closed when I told them I would be going to another provider. DO NOT USE THEM.

I became a customer in may 2021 and was instantly unhappy with the poor broadband quality especially as I was going courses and work online at the time. At the time a paid for a good wireless 4G and would hotspot that as I didn't want to pay the 200+ pound severance fee and my complaints were falling on deaf ear.
Something which I can't do anymore
As now a year later due to a current unplanned poor financial situation I can't pay my bills. WiFi is the least important so it's the one I keep deferring on so I keep having to pay late payment fees as I can't pay this on time as my rent, electric and gas take precedence. Yet if I want to cancel it will cost me 70 pounds! A sum I can't afford! Not only is the quality of my WiFi absolutely abhorrent not worth 5 quad a month let alone 24! But I can't even cancel it because I can't afford to but because I can't afford to do so it will end up costing me even more in monthly payments and late payment fees! Truly feel like talktalk is talking advantage of their poorer customers. I want to maintain my credit score and want to not have to defer on my payment by cancelling yet I can't afford to so I will anyway and their is nothing I can do about it!
I have rung them multiple times to explain my situation but they very much don't care if they understand what I'm saying at all from their call centre god knows where and they just want their money.
I am moving in October so I was going to have to cancel then anyway so I decided to terminate now and pay the termination fee in installments.
This whole experience has taught me a lesson however check reviews before starting a contract somewhere and be wary of long-term contracts as one doesn't know what the future holds. I didn't know I was going to be in this situation last year. I wasn't rich by any means but a year ago I could pay all my bills and food with minimal budgeting which is no longer the case.
I implore anyone that makes enough to live but not to save as I was a year ago to not get comfortable and to plan for the worst. It is something I regret now and I will definitely plan for for the rest of my life!

Moving home is stressful enough with out having to deal with the constant lies of TalkTalk.
This is how my home move has gone so far:
11/8 - Called to advise of house move and that I would be in the new property on 22/8. Call handler explicitly stated that my ‘go live date’ would be that day and gave no indication it could change as he had spoken with Openreach and they had confirmed this.(Lie number 1)
16/8 Confirmation email informed me that my go live date was actually 31/8. I called the customer services where a man said there had been a duplicate order and that by cancelling the duplicate, I would still have the go live date of 22/8. (Lie number 2). He also told me to ‘make sure I wear my wonderful smile’, for which he can go and do one, I called for broadband not advice on my face.
On 19/8, following a further confirmation email of the go live date now being 31/8, I phoned to complain (not about the go live date because that’s an Openreach problem) about being lied to. I was told that I had not been lied to. (Lie number 3 and to be honest, a little gaslighty for my tastes).
On 31/8 I used the chat function on the website to confirm that I would still be connected, given that there is industrial action involving Openreach. I was told, by ‘Angelica’ that that this would not affect me as I didn’t need an engineer and the line activation would be done remotely. I asked her to clarify this because I had waited a further 9 days after my house move, specifically for an engineer to turn my service on at the local box. She reiterated that I didn’t need one and my service will be activated by midnight. (Lie number 4)
1/9 I called as, predictably, lie number 4 was confirmed and we have no broadband. The call handler confirmed that I didn’t yet have broadband because of industrial action from Openreach and that I needed an engineer to come a turn on the service. My new go live date is 5/9. Let’s see if that happens.
I don’t expect TalkTalk to refund the couple of thousand in lost wages between my partner and I due to lack of service, nor the exorbitant extra mobile data we’ve had to purchase because we know they won’t. They cannot even get the basics right.
They are liars, gas lighters and totally incompetent.
I would recommend they be totally avoided.

Where do I start?? I have been with Talktalk business for over 2.5 years.
I visited my bank on Monday the 30th of July at 4pm and informed them that I wish to close my account as I have opened a new account at a different bank.
On Tuesday the the 31st of July at 9am while I was at a business meeting I was called by my staff to come back to office as the internet was not active.
When I returned to office I noticed the account is suspended so I immediately made the payment online using a debit card.
When I checked the account I was surprised o find out the payment was not even due until the 1st of August.
We as a web design company rely on Internet connection and while our internet connection was suspended I had to pay wages to my staffs (4 people) for 4 hours and 10 minutes doing nothing, Cancel my business meeting and drive 30miles to be back in the office and fix the issue, spend 1 hour 45 minutes of my time chatting online to Talktalk customer service, Speaking to different departments over the phone trying to restore the service while my payment was not even due.
**** Im setting up a website about talktalk business and how rubbish their customer service is so please help me with your experience and evidence ************************

Talk Talk constantly go down and they are super unhelpful! We pay for 27MBPS and we actually get about 4MBPS according to every broadband speed checker apart from theirs which always say theres no problems (unsurprisingly). Talk Talk is by far the most unreliable and unhelpful broadband weve ever been with. I’m writing this review through my mobile data because my internet is shockingly down. Easily twice a month it will go down. Ive just rang to cancel and the rude lady with ZERO customer service skills didn’t like it when i told her all this and told her I've just joined BT with a speed guarantee. Avoid at all cost!
