The worst broadband possible. I know people near by who also have the same issues. Disconnecting from the internet and extremely slow speeds are the main issues but often it will just go down for a whole evening. Again friends who live by also are affected by this. Truly shocking.

I cannot stress this enough; NEVER GET BROADBAND FROM SKY. Ever sincce my family purchased Broadband as part of a package deal with Sky Sports we have had to tolerate attrocious signal and pathetically frequent disconnects. Sky clearly do not know how to be an internet service provider, their wireless router barely reaches into the next room. Absolutely pathetic; we are looking to change ISPs as soon as humanely possible.

they sold my girlfriend a package where you have to pay per minute of phone calls. so we got a massive bill but they won't take the bill away as it was a simple mistake.

WHO USES PAY PER MINUTE NOW DAYS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WHO SELLS PAY PER MINUTE.

sky do. plus they have terrible customer service.

use BT, virgin, Vodafone for internet or anyone else but avoid sky.

Sky set up our new internet today. The so called engineer said it's all live and up and running. I checked immediately and it wasn't connected to the internet. Sky customer services say the whole area is down!!!! We no because my neighbors internet isn't down.

So basically if your considering using sky remember you will have to wait a months for installation and then another month for the original installation to be fixed, and every time you call customer services they will say it's an area issue weather it is or isn't.

So I will be cancelling immediately and using another internet provider.

Having read some of these reviews I find it hard to believe it's the same company that I am with. I was an old O2 customer who stayed with Sky and have found them to be excellent - no transfer problems, broadband speed and reliability excellent; and courteous and efficient customer service (as O2 had been). The latter is important for me. In addition, as on old O2 customer they have given me free broadband - currently in the third year now. It's important to be polite when contacting any customer services - I wonder whether some of the complaints here are due to the attitude of the customer calling rather than the Sky agents (whom I have found to be very courteous)...

I have to say I am totally disgusted with the way Sky has been since I have been with them over the last three months. I joined and since then they have got every bill incorrect.

I made a complaint and they have now cut me off!

It’s honestly the worst internet hands down, every 15 minutes keep turning itself off and on then when you get online it’s say you have internet but you don’t.

In my opinion just don’t even bother with sky internet, save your money go with somebody who will give you what you paying for!!!

I have had broadband with Sky for 10 months. During this time my internet has stopped working several times and Sky have been unable to resolve this. It is currently working fine though.
The reason that I am leaving Sky for good is because they took a higher direct debit than contracted. When I rang to inform them they were unable to resolve the issue as the manager wasn't there. 4 days later I had a voicemail telling me that my contract would be extended for 2 months at the reduced price to compensate for my overbilling. This assumes I would have stayed with them once the reduced price period ends. I called again and asked for a refund. They said the only thing they could do was not bill me for two months. As a result I lost interest on my bank account as I need two DD's to be taken. I rang up a third time and was finally given a refund. I can not trust Sky not to steal my money as this was an error that should have been rectified immediately, not taking my money and keeping it for months.

    Never get Sky Broadband ever.

I've had it twice in my life in 2 separate locations and both been horrible. I'm sure I was promised at least 17mb download but don't even get 1mb.
    At least it's reliably bad.

    UP YOUR GAME SKY.
Getting Virgin when I move. Great experiences with them.

Constantly cutting out, randomly and unexpectedly. Comes back to strength, then normally will cut out again. This usually happens late afternoon/ evening/ night, however I wouldn’t know how it worked during the day as I’m not home. The wifi worked perfectly; I would say amazingly when first installed, but has gone downhill recently, and only joined sky this year! Very unsatisfactory.

The only time sky were quick to respond to me was when I took broadband out with another company. I decided to part ways after years of dropped connections, price hikes, neglectful customer service and false promises. Often the only way you can get hold of them is by phoning, they have had various other methods such as live chat and even texting, all completely useless. On multiple occasions I was told an engineer would be coming to look at our connection when I continued to complain about the slow speed/lack of internet/dropped connections, on multiple occasions I stayed home from work or took a day off to accommodate this, and on multiple occasions I was stood up by the company who claims to ‘believe in better’. Right now I am writing this review on my 4G as yet again the sky connection has dropped for no reason. It’s raining so maybe that’s why. AVOID.

Disgustingly horrific. Worst 5 years of my internet life. Honestly, if there are any alternatives in your area, use them. Buy a pigeon and it’ll be faster than this rubbish. We have averaged 0.3Mbs over the last week, and not for the first time. Slow, unreliable, and expensive. Don’t do it

Sky offers the worst service I have ever received in all my life. First of all, they were meant to fix my internet, they didn't and did not say why. They finally got me connected the next week, 2 days short of a week. Next they gave me date and time range to come fix my tv broadband. I asked that they make it closer as the date I was given was too far away but the refused and then threatened me with a 25pound charge if I cancelled or absent. Eventually, they did not show up at all and gave me yet another post date again which unfortunately is a week day and I work full time, I called then twice now and have asked to be connected to cancellations. they have put me on mute claiming that there is a queue for cancellations. I told them that for there to be a queue, it means their services are bad and people want to leave. They are not reliable and definitely not a company to use their services even if they offer 1million channels more. Rubbish people! Rubbish network.

Sky broadband the worst I have ever experienced , considering we pay for sky fibre MAX! On a daily basis we have internet issues, i would call to complain and they weren’t very helpful of the matter, told me I would need to call and log complaints every time the issue happened - who has time to call sky everyday? Not me! As I was in a contract I had to live with the issues for 12 months, technical telephone support couldn’t help, told me I’d be charged for an engineer to visit?! So in the end I would use the 4G on my mobile as it was quicker!! I live in an average size house but the WiFi doesn’t reach the back bedroom so tried to sell me a WiFi booster!! Everyone I know who has or had sky have or had issues. I would NOT recommend at all!

I've been with Sky for several years and their customer service used to be superb. Unfortunately it's gone downhill and now sits within the rest of its competitors (i.e. mediocre). They are scared witless of BT and could therefore offer me a competitive deal when I was renewing my contract. The trouble is the performance of the router is so bad I can only use the wifi downstairs and within a 3-4m range. Its truly woeful. They cleverly (some may say sneakily) only guarantee the speed into your router (which is what was promised), but anything beyond that is down to me. Reading reviews on the internet, the router is the worst on the market and therefore I'm not getting my fibreoptic service in 80% of my house. Ironically I can pick up all of the neighbours' BT wifi.

Had Sky broadband since christmas last year first few months were ok not bad speed but for last 6 months i have had problems with noisy phone line limited or no service on my broadband and nobody at sky is capable of sorting it out. I would not recommend them to anbody go with virgin sky has very poor service no customer service skills and they dont care once they got your money. I cancelled my direct debit and now putting my Brand New HD Box EBay to get back some of the costs of phone calls and days off to sort this problem out.

    Appalling. Slow with frequent outages.

Supposed to have a guaranteed download speed of 3. 8 Mbps. Often has speeds of less than 0.5 Mbps.

Customer "service" refuse to help and claim they've tested the line and it works fine. It does not.

Supposed to have 500Mbps. Rarely see 40, occasionally get 170, often upload speed is higher than download speed. Total rubbish. And all they tell me is that it’s 500Mbps as far as they are concerned and can’t do anything about it.

I work from home occaisionally and need a reliable service I definately dont get this from sky.

Broadband speeds used to be 11mb, but 5 months ago, it slowed right down to less than 2mb and kept cutting out intermittently. We've had a new router, sky engineers and BT engineers out. Nobody can figure out what the problem is. It has taken months to get to this stage and I was told I would get a a refudn for our troubles. Now they have told me they will only refund the £10 cost for the broadband. Not the line rental even thought we only have the line for the internet. We don't even have a phone. And even though we have not been able ot use any of the on demand services and films etc that we pay for as they require the internet. Don't trust this scamming company. They are scum.

I complained about terrible broadband and she said it was down to me to sort it out. After constant calls and doing this and that (to no avail), I have given up. After nearly 30 years with Sky I am going elsewhere for my phone and broadband. WHY WON'T SKY ADMIT THEY ARE THE PROBLEM??????

I left Talk Talk as their customer service was terrible so went to Sky as they were offering a good deal. For the first year the broadband service was acceptable though nothing to write home about. Recently, however, it has become nothing short of atrocious. Speed drops to 0.5kbps while my 4g signal is giving me 12kbps+, the Internet becomes unusable bad I have to reset the router. That lasts for all of 10 minutes and I'm back to square one. Avoid at all costs.

I’d give less than 1 star for speed if I could..... paying for sky unlimited..... use to get speeds of 1.5Mbps which was awful....in the last few months the speed as dropped and dropped to the point where I’m constantly resetting the router to get an extra 0.1.... currently sitting at 0.21Mbps

In context my phones 4G gets 13Mbs and my first ever dial up modem back in the 90s was only 4x slower....

Wired speed, no major issues. Wireless - not good. Was on a 38mbps package and barely got 15 down at the best of times right next to the Q router and lower than 1 at peak times! Constant packet loss playing games even when wired. Customer service is poor, they seem to only want to deal via Facebook messenger (and take forever to answer) or through text messaging! Would not recommend.

Without exaggeration the worst internet provider I have used having lived in 4 european countries.

The only thing worse and slower than their internet service is their customer service. Can't even register a complaint unless you have several hours of your life to waste on hold.

Would not recommend them under any circumstances. Stick with BT or Virgin.

After reading some of the reviews,I thought it only right to post a positive review of my time with Sky.I have been with them for a little under a year and to be honest there where a couple of problems to start with but not due to sky in my case BT connected me to a companies phone line so i ended up chasing the company to ask why i was getting their customers calling me and they told me they did not even know the line was not working but had not had any calls for days from their customers. After that was sorted i ended up with a slower internet speed due to being signed up to the wrong type of Broadband by the site i took out the deal with, idiots but once i got in touch with sky they sorted it in under 3 days,And i got 2 months worth of extra free phone calls as compensation which was nice of them as my wife likes to call her family a lot. After about 6 months the line began to drop but Sky fixed it the same day with a new plug socket and rewired the spare socket as well with a built in filter and my speed is above the average for my area which is around 8MBs i get 42MBs which is damn good i can download a 3 GB game in under 10 mins or download an Music album in around 5 to 7 mins,Even though i had a few problems Sky has been pretty good on the whole. How ever i do intend to move on as they are not good at being info friendly and unless you are tech savvy they will try it on.For the most part i would check before you sign up with any ISP if they do actually provide the service they state as in some cases you can get better service from a less well known company,I would give Sky in my case a 7 out of 10 for at least trying to provide a good level of service and connection time,But a less friendly 4 out of 10 for customer service over the phone as the call center, like most others is in India

without any shadow of a doubt the worst internet provider ive ever had at!!! speed is reasonable is actually getting a stable connection that is the main problem. Upto two to three weeks of good connection then between two and five days of constant disconnection every few minutes. disconnects every night at 2:10 am, EVERY NIGHT. Have finally completed my 12 month contract and you couldn't pay me ennough to stay!! the final three months have been particulaly painfull. literally every online event has been interupted or plain stopped as a result.

TL:DR The worst with constant disconnects

Sky, I could sit here for hours writing about how bad they are, unreliable, awful customer service and they lie about your broadband speed to take advantage of technological illiterate customers.
The worst one though, they charged you money for not having services with them. So if you had phone and tv, they would charge you extra for not having broadband with them. I'm not certain if they have stopped this now, but this company is more like a hell on earth than the heaven they portray in their adverts.

Pretty poor. The service is slow. They once sent out an update which somehow managed to break my modem. The then sent out a disc to manually fix the update which didn't work, then they sent out a new modem which they wanted me to pay for. Eventually I got a new modem for free of charge but I was without any internet for 2 weeks and I didn't get refunded.

Every so often the service cuts out and customer services are pretty poor.
