Just got sky broadband, got sky hub SR102-Z.

i had many doubts on sky snd bt as they bother use the same lines to provide internet to customers, im tired of all these crappy excuses and not enough being done to fix the dam problem. My sky wired ethernet connection keeps dropping the signal. I have done all that silly tech nonsense that never works and they go home at night saying im a pc expert blah blah. Really how its only simple plug in and unplug you always talk about ?. that not an expert, thats just turning it off and back on again. I have stripped it back and reconnected as it says in that silly box, again did not work. chatted to sky online with one of those sky typing windows, guess what it lost connection there as well, sky sucks, all those fancy pants tv adverts with actors in them in clean white coloured adverts not fooling anyone sky, you need to shake up your problems and get down to getting things put right. We want what we pay you for. I was with virgin media, great service, great broadband and i only left as i moved house and i could not get the service where i live now, after online search seems many sky users have this signal drop problem, i think they are just using a a crappy router, with fancy pants shiny cover. As you can get routers from 3rd parties to get better signals but sky say oh no no if you do that we can,t offer you our technical service, always a bloody catch with the uk, you suck. Strange sky these other routers get better signal and better connection with better chips in them and better firmware upgrades and yet you keep messing up, go figure. Oh look there it goes agian, no internet connection yet again, so what is really causing this to happen, come on experts. Oh it could be this and it could be that. so when are you gonna get this put right, its very obvious some thing is causing this, its just so simple and you don,t know what it is, or you can,t delliver all thos tv fancy adverts you said you could. And by the way this is on firbre optic broad band, yet i keep getting kicked off the internet. enough is enough.

GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND SOUGHT THIS OUT ONCE AND FOR ALL.

CROOKS! First let me say that I didn't join Sky by choice, I was transferred when they took over O2. I also noticed the slower broadband speed that others have mentioned, but that isn't my main complaint! I had as part of my package free international calls, which is what I joined O2 for in the first place. This was also transferred to Sky until suddenly I noticed a much higher charge to Sky on my bank statement. It turns out that they suddenly decided to transfer me (and everyone else on the same package) to a different package which didn't include international calls! They said I could 'upgrade' to the new international package and pay more for the privilege. Not only that, they would lock me into another year contract to receive the same service as I always had. This is clearly just an underhand way of holding on to customers, while getting them to pay even more. With me it hasn't worked, I've just signed up with Plusnet.

Promised 40mbs before signing up, I would be lucky if I get half of that. Maximum I have seen is 24Mbs a day or two at the start, been nowhere near that since. They say they never slow you down anytime of day, that’s because they never speed you up to begin with. What they say you’ll get in your package, you can half it, that would give you a realistic download speed.
Phoned customer service to complain and was told, the speed to the router was indeed 40Mbs, and they didn’t say your wireless devices would receive that download speed. I was told where to check it under maintenance/ wireless settings on the Sky site.
It does say 40Mbs on the web page, but it’s just a typed number, they could type any number in there, it doesn’t fluctuate up or down, it’s not interactive, it’s just typed text, static words and numbers, very disappointing with SKY.
Have a friend on Vodaphone and he was promised 40Mbs and he has shown me on his phone (a wireless device connected to his router) that indeed his download speeds are 40Mbs to a connected phone and his never slows down anytime of the day.
Customer Services has a pile of rubbish to say to their customers, as excuses for their, half a promised service. After that reception, I can’t believe anything they tell me.

Very pathetic service provided for home move. They do not understand what the problem is and constantly send an engineer who says that it’s not his job to do. Customer service people also do not have any clue. One and half month completed from the time home move service has been initiated, still problem is not resolved..

Very disappointing experience with Sky Broadband, took them two weeks to move our broadband into the new location. In the end they said it would be quicker to close our account and set up a new one, which we did only to be told we can no longer have the promised deal.

Seriously 2016 and its rubbish! Not really the speed although it's not great but it's doesn't always work. Regularly it's not picking up. I feel unless you pay over the top fees for fibre optic (although ppl have said that's rubbish too) you get the broadband speed and reliability as the 1990s dial up connection. Disappointed with Sky as a whole and I'm leaving soon as my contract is up.

Been with sky for 6 months. I was silly to think they had improved over the last 10 years since I was last with them. After a call yesterday to sky, first being with an argumentative man named Andy, second to a lovely woman called Jenny, Sky agreed to release me from contract with zero charge. I've had more days with drop outs than days without. This is by no stretch of the imagination reliable. My previous ISP didn't have this many interruptions in the whole of 10 years I was with them. Needless to say, they are getting me back, even if it does cost more than sky.

It has good speed when it is working but it drops out ALOT. Also, when a family member walks into the hub room, I get a loose connection. I’m quite sure that my family are NOT electric.

Do not know what to say. Customer service from sky is excellent. Ordered tv and Sky Fibre optic unlimited package. Was expecting to get 40mbs. I am lucky to get 2mbs. It is so slow and randomly disconnects. I used to have Virgin broadband - who were fantastic to say the least. 50mbs nearly everyday. Unfortunately they do not provide a service to where I have moved. Stuck for 12 months. Surely they cannot advertise 40mbs and only provide 2mbs?

I was holding high regards for this company but until I noted that I was being ripped off with £10.00 evry month for 2 years on a service that I don’t use ( sky+ subscription) I’ve only sign in for broad band and phone line services when I reniewed my contract again. I was hoping to claim back but they said it’s my fault as I don’t check my bill details.... scum company... grrr and worst is very unrealiable broadband with a lot of time no internet!!!!!

If only their products were as good as their customer service. I cant even watch anything in HD it will lag or freeze, for a modern day broadband company wth is this? When contacted Sky about it, they said apparently I'm on the lowest broadband package and it was not fibre, what a poor excuse as this is the broadband they advertise to be 'super fast broadband' that comes with the tv package. Never the less I upgraded, now I am paying a lot more and on fibre, my internet speed is 0.49mbps download speed and I am in a brand new 18 months contract. They made me go into a new contract paying a lot more than the previous one only for it to go up to 0.49mbps download speed? & I still cannot watch anything in HD. How can they do this to their customers is beyond me.

I've had Sky fibre max for 2 years now and it's got progressively slower over that time.
My Q Hub always shows a 80/20 connection but speeds have dropped from 74mb/s down to 40mb/s.
No real explanation from Sky for the slow down (I'm connected via 1gb/s ethernet cable to router to a i7 6 core laptop).
Plus I'm paying £33 per month for somthing new customer can get for £27.
Best offer they have for existing customers is £30.
Sky show no interest in customers if they have problems to raise.

Sky get their competitor to install a phone line, BT as as a result use the existing 20+ year old cat 5 to pass "sky fiber" down from the distribution box, instead of 40mb for £37 you get 5-9mbps, slower than mobile broadband.

Will move to virgin, 50mb+ for £30

I wanted to change from sky to another service provider as I've done many times in the past with various companies, never have I had such an ordeal like I have trying to leave sky.
They blocked the transfer twice, then I was going to be left without service after advice from a few under trained sky staff I'm a month further down the road and on my 3rd tranger date. The other day they blocked my services when I rang they said I hadn't paid my bill. I informed them I'm aware, I canceled DD and was waiting for my final bill once transfer was complete. No that's not how it works now I have to pay up front for the service we would of provided if you hadn't left us I refused and paid up to final day and requested they bill me if it's delayed they were happy with that crazy notion. Now I find myself without a service not once in 3 years has there been a technical issue but now there is im no Internet they can't fix coz I'm leaving
    Totally full of it!!!!

Worst customer service that I have every experienced in having internet connection for 20 years. Signed up for broadband, telephone and TV package. Was not happy with the quality of the TV package so after a year gave notice that I wanted to cancel the TV service and move the broadband & telephone to another provider. One month later Sky maliciously cancelled everything. Lost broadband & telephone for 2 weeks and a distinctive telephone number that I had for 15 years. I repeatidly stated to Sky representatives that I did not want to loose internet or telephone services when I gave notice and 2 weeks prior to disconnection when the new telecom provider stated that Sky were intending to disconnect the line. Sky just went ahead anyway. This is vindictive behaviour and borders on the criminal activity. Woke up on a Sunday morning to no telephone and broadband service. All Sky would offer was to sign me up to a new package (with a new telephone number). This was after 3 hours of mobile telephone calls. Please please please do not let anyone go through this experience. AVOID SKY AT ALL COSTS!! You will regret going with this service

I seriously wouldn't bother, we have been stuck with no Internet connection for the last 28 days!
My girlfriend works from home and needs constant Internet connection for her job.

When asked about a temporary Internet solution we were told they don't provide anything like that.

So I've had to pay for another solution to get us around this issue.

Just doesn't sit right when on day 25 you see an engineer outside scratching his head when openreach know there is an issue but haven't relayed the info.
Same pole otherside of the road he said he was on phone call number 10!to figure out what was heppening. He was fuming when I told him they knew about it already, he spent 2 days on the same fault that cannot even be fixed from there. It's in the exchange.
Sky have been useless at dealing with it and keeping us updated, just generic texts saying the fault still isn't fixed.

The staff lie to you to try and make you stay and not CANCEL.DONT GO WITH SKY.

    reword:
I cancelled both TV and broadband with Sky in June 22, with end date of the contract August 2022. We are now in July 2023, and I've realized that they kept charging the broadband for about 1 year after the cancellation, event though I had also returned my router/box back in Oct 2022. I called the customer service, and they offered me a month refund, so I had to take the complain further to the an indipendent Alternative dispute resolution (CISAS) to try to get my refund. Therefore, I am not even

Fibre service is not as fast as advertised. Service is very inconsistent and sky routers notoriously bad for signal and interference.
Since moved to a different provider, supposedly the same spec as sky broadband, but way faster and never once disconnected yet.

My opinion, Sky are using their name to push an amateur and decidedly rubbish internet service.
    Will not be back. Ever..

The broadband speed is very slow and the reliability is poor
When you are using the Internet it often switches off(on my
iPad) The download speed on tv programmers is very slow ,
Sometimes it takes overnight to download a programme.
Trying to get through to Sky on the phone, where you should
be able to speak to a human being is a trial in itself.

    Utter rubbish.

Took ages to be set up and running. WiFi had a poor range and kept cutting out, kept having to restart the router.

Moved house, asked for Sky to move with us. They took 2 weeks to connect - which failed, then told me they need to cancel it which would take 10 days, and another 2 weeks to restart my order.

I told them I work from home and NEED internet. They had nothing to say.

I cancelled it entirely and went with Virgin who connected me within 72 hours.

On my 5th week from moving house, Sky email me with a bill and tell me my broadband is up and running. Even though I cancelled it. They then emailed me and told me they sent a cancellation email by mistake - I didn't receive a cancellation email.

I then went on holiday - Sky said my phone would be fine to work abroad. It wasn't. Not for 48 hours.

Upon my return home, my account still has active broadband and a bill to pay. I've had to get in touch about 7 times in the last 48 hours to try and get to the bottom of this, being transferred all over the place to different people, explaining everything over and over again. Getting nowhere.

Avoid. Utterly useless. Poor service. Terrible customer support. Rubbish WiFi. Slow, useless, pointless. Go with Virgin instead.

The least reliable broadband service I’ve used before. Goes down a lot more frequently than any other I’ve used in the past. Once down takes a long time to come back up.
