Been with sky for 6 months. I was silly to think they had improved over the last 10 years since I was last with them. After a call yesterday to sky, first being with an argumentative man named Andy, second to a lovely woman called Jenny, Sky agreed to release me from contract with zero charge. I've had more days with drop outs than days without. This is by no stretch of the imagination reliable. My previous ISP didn't have this many interruptions in the whole of 10 years I was with them. Needless to say, they are getting me back, even if it does cost more than sky.

Most nights we have no signal and have to use our phones and 4G to get on the internet. Programmes won't even download on the Q boxes. Have had every excuse in the book from Sky. Most of the time they try and blame our devices and say it's nothing to do with them. Customer Service is appalling. I've been told that I've never complained before when I've phoned up numerous times, I've been told that they sent an engineer to my house who came in and did extensive work then been called a liar when I've said this never happened and must be another customer..... thier response- 'perhaps one of your children let them in????' .... We're planning to switch as soon as possible.

Up until recently I was using virgin broadband which pretty much gave me the download speed advertised & paid for. I'm now in a sky broadband household and of the 'up to 15mb' quoted, the other day it was 1.9!!! On better days it skyrockets to about 2.5. My local rail station (cheshunt) is 4 and the local wetherspoons 12!!! Sky have suggested that I upgrade to fibre optic - NOT A CHANCE!!!!

VERY VERY BAD SERVICE AND NOT ALWAYS HONEST! I have been a customer for 8 years.I have just found out that when you call sky on their 08442 number or any other of their number you actually get through to a generic call centre called 'whetherby's'(They told me to search 'whetherbys.co.uk and told me they were a legitimate company howEver after searching the internet I could find no such company or website so ive reported them to the I.C.O.They may of course be genuine.Sky however is their client.Whetherbys actually told me this.
When calling they answer as sky tv but they have actually stated most customers think they are calling sky and speaking to them when its an outsource company or 'external employees' who are not employed by sky buy employed by a third party company to represent sky or work alongside them but are not the actual company sky!.I asked them directly if they were sky or whetherbys as they had my account details they wouldn't answer but said ' yes we are one of the two' but were reluctant to tell me they were whetherbys and not sky but they answered the phone as sky telling me this is normal.
I was very shocked to find out this isn't in skys terms an conditions and nowhere can I find any info via sky of why they are a client of 'whetherby's.I was bullied by an individual or I felt bullied and this is why the service is terrible I should not have to be treated like i'm a stupid woman I even said I feel I have been treated unfairly and I feel uncomfortable he stated' No I DON'T AGREE THAT I HAVE DONE THAT' And he is representing sky !!
I reported it to sky today this is how I found out that I was not dealing with sky directly but this middle man company so to speak, other company .It is being investigated. The fact that I have had to deal with aggressive rude male advisers who make it clear they dont like women who say 'hang on a minute can I check that's actually the right info' then this is very very cus ser but also and unpleasant stuck up man who has zero respect and tried to make me think the service 1571 was a line fault and not a service from your provider I checked this is a service not a line fault and he didn't like I knew this and this is when he turned unpleasant and passive aggressive.
So After being a customer for 8 yrs i'm leaving.I'm not going to continue getting bullied.Ive only been a customer for sky talk 6 days and after being treated like this I'm disgusted.VERY VERY BAD SERVICE AND COMPANY WHO DON'T ACTUALLY TELL YOU THE TRUTH WHEN THE PHONE NUMBER THEY GIVE YOU (THE OFFICIAL 08842 NUMBER) IS NOT SKY TV BUT ANOTHER COMPANY WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND A DOZEN OTHER TOP COMPANIES ON ONE DATA BASE.They identify you by the number called which is affiliated with that provider and then put your details in to find the provider your with but dont tell you this they tell you they are your company to begin with. This isn't exactly even if this is how it fully works.I dont feel my personal data is safe in the hands of a company I never knew had it and who have sky as their client.Sky should tell us our personal data is given to whetherbys!Plus their broadband service is dire and I got a card in my router box to tell me my ssid and pin and password and sky argued with me and were skeptical were i got that card and told me that there could not be these codes on the card as the router or router code and user password were one and the same codes but they were totally diff numbers which sky didn't actually believe!
Nope. The age of adults bullying other adults and men trying to make women feel stupid because they know a little technical stuff and can not be man enough to admit they may have made a mistake as they are not know it all should be over!
I am cancelling b/b and sky talk too!
HORRIBLE COMPANY HORRIBLE PEOPLE!

First of all, I'm a Network Engineer.
I've had 3 ISPs in the last 12 years. Pipex, Be, and SKY
Pipex were great. Until they got bought out.
Be were brilliant, right up until I left looking for a cheaper deal
Sky? Sheesh, absolute nightmare.
two week long outages with me doing all the chasing for updates/progress
Unsteady line and long outages. I don't think it's ever been up for 24hrs without a break.
Apparently it's always Openreach to blame, which is odd because Be was down only twice in the wee hours, in the entire 4 years I was with them.
No offer of compensation when I told them I couldn't work from home.
Absolute worst ISP I have ever been with.
I strongly recommend you think twice.
What's cheap isn't good and what's good isn't cheap.
I'm moving back to Be at the end of the month.

TERRIBLE - Students still waiting for router to be sent after being assured we'd be online in a week. This was the 3rd October. We've been sent a text message saying we will go live on the 28th which for a house of students who didn't want a 12month contract really in the first place but were told this was the only way, and who need internet for studies and deadlines its been a nightmare. Their messages say things like "the current customers at your future property requested a change in date" when we've been moved in since September. Full of lies and the service is a joke.

Terrible. Cuts out at 5.30pm 2 days out of every 5. Advertised as guaranteed connection speed in every room, but patchy even when 2ft from router and simply doesn't connect if more than 12ft away. Impossible to contact to complain: no phone number provided.

The internet speed has never been great at my current house. I've lived here all my life, and we must have old cables or something, because no matter the ISP (AOL, BT, Sky), the internet rarely goes up past 1000 kB/s. But we've always had a reliable connection that rarely goes down... until we switched to Sky. Our connection slowed down slightly after the switch and never sped back up again. Now we're capped at around 900 kB/s, with the broadband regularly going down for no reason for around 2 minutes. The downtime periods usually happen at least twice a day making downloading large files (which is an essential part of my work) very difficult. Also, we easily reach our bandwidth limit and get capped at 100 kB/s download, which renders the internet fairly useless and makes doing such simple tasks as watching youtube videos or sending an MP3 file tedious. We've spoken to them about it a few times and nothing is ever done. We're paying for internet that's not worth paying for, and we all cannot wait until our contract is over so we can finally switch to a more reliable ISP.
If you're looking for a reliable, helpful and fast ISP, forget about Sky. Go for BT or Virgin Media.

I don't recongine the company I deal with from these reviews, I've always found them to be great. I get through to a british call centre and I never have to wait long until I speak to someone.
Technical problems are dealt with efficiently. I did have a major problem at first with reliability so they sent an engineer round and traced the problem to wiring in my house which he fixed and my internet spped doubled to 3.9mbps (BT could only offer me a maximum of 1)
Over the last couple of days I've had problems with the router and they said they would have to send a new one but it would cost me £30. The technical guy I was speaking to agreed with me that it did seem a bit of a cheek to ask that of a loyal customer and advised me to give them a ring in the morning.
Today I spoke promptly to customer services who were most apologetic, and as I was out of contract they said that they would upgrade me to fibreoptic for £10 a month (a fiver LESS than I'm paying now) and no set up fees.
In terms of customer service, I really don't see how it could be bettered.

No problems with TV or phone, it is the broadband that is diabolical, it looses emails, and has a very intermittent service. Sky is predominantly a TV service, so forget their broadband and use someone like BT or Tiscali.

Paying for 145 mbps, receiving 35 mbps for much of the time. Customer services - once I’d found out how to email them (I do like a paper trail) - have been terrific, but the technowizards have yet to fix anything! Shame.

I moved house on the 27th of July, our sky wifi meant to arrive on 31st July. The Sky Q box turned up aswell as the internet box but no internet engineer! We were told that they would be back at the end of the week to fix it and they didn't, ended up speaking to a robot and an engineer is supposed to be coming by Monday the 14th. I am very unimpressed and family members have had trouble with the wifi.

Do not go with sky!!!
We left sky TV due to it being to expensive and not worth it, while we were on the phone we mentioned that our internet was ok but not the best as in not very fast, so we upgraded for an extra few pounds a month. Since then we have had countless issues. We have had 3 different sky hubs, due to sky saying the hubs were faulty when they are clearly not, meaning we have to go out of our way to post the hubs back. We even had engineers out who said they can’t do anything as it’s a faulty hub! We have just phoned sky again who have now said something completely different- there’s a fault on the line!! So now we have an engineer coming out tomorrow.
These issues have been going on since autumn 2020, it’s now March 2021!
Awful company, awful communication, they don’t care about their customers and just want the money.
Beyond upset.

Awful. I agreed to an upgrade after trying to cancel. Nothing was as agreed. No Sky Q ultra HD no HD at all. No replacement dish. Cost would have gone up by £20 a month a few weeks into an 18 month contract. Would not honour the agreement pay termination fees with BT. PRINT all account information every time you look as it changes all the time even cutting you off form the account so they can change it. Hours of my life wasted trying to sort things out. Account now show as being charged £10 a month out of contract fees + £3 for Mcfree (never asked for it or used it ) even though TV is no longer in contract and I have no longer got Sky broadband (which was cancelled within the cooling off period). The sky Q box provided got so hot it was very pain full to touch so turned it off as a fire risk. The Sky broadband hub could not even reach a printer 8ft (no other hub has this problem) away in clear line of site and only has 2 ethernet ports. Wireless data transfer is so slow it was like going back to the 90s it would have taken days to download a game I have high speed fibre so not the line. They agreed refunds when no service is available, deduct the amount agreed then add it back on. Promise to call back and never do, useless and rude. The only option left to me at this point is contact a solicitor.

Sky. What a rip off. Wish I'd never cancelled Virgin Media.
Not only is the broadband inferior, it's very slow, constantly failing, on and off nearly every day, at any time, and drives me mad.
I moved to an area where the signal wasn't as good as my last address, less than half. I expected the price to drop, it didn't, I asked they said no. WHY???
I understand that it is not your fault I moved.
I don't understand why it hasn't dropped in price, because it isn't my fault you can't even supply the lack lustre broadband you provided before.
My internet is now around 26 - 32 mbps, making it slower than my mobile phone powered by 3 mobile Internet.
My package was renamed to the 35 mbps package, without my permission, I am paying for the 70 mbps package, this is what should be showing on my bill, nothing else.
The tv signal is also terrible. If I record anything, watch anything live it drifts in and out of signal, pixilated picture. Ruins my programme's.
They even increased my package price this month. An absolute liberty.
I have to put up with this until November. Then the ordeal will be over.

Sky are advertising offers to existing customers on third party web sites which when linked through double in price... what a coincidence. No point trying to email - you can't. You can write a letter - yes, write a letter in 2015 or you can wait for days on end to get through to online live chat on the off-chance that you'll find a gap between the hundreds of irate customers and get connected. Failing that you can call them and once through their pathetic line filtering you get to speak to a jumped up little liar who doesn't realise that he could do better for his minimum wage than telling lies to customers. Can't wait until my contract expires as it will not be renewed.

Personally I have always had excellent Sky broadband service and I've had them for years. When there was a problem everything was done to resolve it and in the end it turned out it was a telephone box in the street that was the cause. It did take a while to resolve but even the engineers scratched their heads on this one. I just wanted to counter all the negatives written on here. However Sky can be an absolute 'b' when it comes to trying to change your package. I mean I have just cancelled Netflix with the touch of a button. But I'm on a long free phone call wait to speak to Sky customer services and even if I get through I just jnoiw I'm going to bve harangued

When an e-mail server gets a virus, and the software is hijacked by a botnet, Who are you going Call? Not Sky.com the ISP that is sending the spam. Abuse@ is generic, then reception at Customer Service is pathetic. Finally locate the NOC (Network Operations phone number), call it, and "You need to know who to speak with? is the first question from the switchboard. There is no 911 or 111 number to call for Network support, and heaven help you if you speak a foreign version of the Queens English ( Called Canadian English / US English) then you get even less service from a company with 58,000 employees. Terrible. Don't spend your money hooking up with Sky.com Choose another prover that will support you.

Sky is a joke had a Openreach engineer out to find out what was wrong with our internet after phoning about an additional problem with the tv box not working. Open reach engineer told us that the max speed we could get due to our position to the exchange is 21mb however we are only getting 15 mb! However we are actually paying for 34.9-39mb for a year when we have phoned sky about this they have not offered us anything in a way of a refund even though they have charged us for a year for service we have not gotten! DO NOT get sky!!! The staff you speak to are a waste of time and very unhelpful!

Since coming over to sky from talktalk it's been like night and day, I've gone from having no internet to full service back (after being told it was my line that was faukty by TT) customer service was friendly and helped me out. My only gripe was that I ordered sky Q after being told my property was compatible only to be good after 4 weeks on the install day that I couldn't have it, I then downgraded to sky + but as I was a returning customer from the past they weren't going to send a sky + box first of all. After a bit of negotiatiating they offered to send one for a small fee, however the 2nd hand market is flooded with them so I managed to get one off eBay for a tenner. Anyway I'm happy and I don't care if my prices rise slightky this year I'd rather pay more then go back to what I had (or didn't have)

Our broadband drops out several times a day. I have phoned Sky several times and every time the problem is blamed on our setup in the house and no solution is offered. To cap it all the connection repeatedly dropped while I was watching the All Blacks playing the Lions on Now TV. That was the final straw and I have signed up with BT broadband. Hopefully they will be better!

One of the worst broadbands that I have been with, it can't withstand having 4 people connected to the Internet at the same time without cutting off, it takes about 10 minutes to load one thing, and it's constantly not working!
Sky,
Please sort it out.
